Dh is getting really nervous about us going away for the cruise due to the swine flu, especially since we'll be flying down and doing 2 days at WDW before hand. I keep telling him we'll jst have to wait and see what happens til then...if need be we will try and get SW credit for our tix. and drive down(which would be pure torture because my kids hate any car ride over 3 hours) He's afraid that if him and I catch it and get sick while on vacation we will have no one to care for our 3 kids!!! That being said my little guy has been sick for the past 8 weeks with various things and is now finally healthy!
Also I'm sooooo glad we bought trip insurance the same day we booked our cruise in case we need to use it.

Well, it is almost the whole family.. My sis, her DH and DS (5) are not able to come with us.... My DS's are looking forward to Oceanquest...Can't wait... we are counting the days till we set sail

Is your 10yr old like almost 11 or something? I noticed you mentioned both are looking forward to oceanquest and 10yr olds are in the lab. The OQ is for 11-13yr olds. Just wanted to make sure you realized that so no one is upset once on the ship? Sometimes if they are within 30 days of turning the next age they'll let you move them up- but only if they have room in the next age up. Were you planning on asking if the 10yr old can move up to the OceanQuest?

Less than a month for us!!! LOL

yesterday I was talking about how "our world" is basically going to shut down with schools closed and the mayor requesting everyone stay home, daycares close, etc.
I guess I wasn't overreacting...
They are closing mayfest in the DFW area -just hours before it kicked off... for the first time in over 37yrs. They are cancelling ALL Girl Scouts activities thru to June- for now.. probably more later (they sent out notices about this- I don't mean personal meetings and stuff- I mean all the TOP programs) More schools closing and btw I did have to leave the house today and I noticed quite a few places with "closed" signs out front that are not usually closed even on Sundays or holidays.

Overall this fu is MILD in comparison to other flu strains- atleast it's not any worse or stronger, medication is affective and in fact many are recovering without medical care..... so I wish people would calm down already! If this keeps up I can see DCL cancelling cruises or something if ONE person catches it while on the ship or shortly after debarking. Disaster for us obviously.... we don't even have insurance this time! I swear you guys can probably blame me for the entire flu stuff going on- you know it happened because this is our first cruise that was such a bargain (and since we're driving) that I figured paying for insurance was an expense I wouldn't bother with this time. Cause that's my luck! sigh

Any word on whethter they're closing down anything like Six Flags? DS#3 & his girlfriend made a trip down a month ago for her bday & got rained out. They bought tickets online so need to use them. They made plans to go down to see Jeff Dunham & go to Six Flags next weekend. I hate to see them not be able to use their tickets again because it's the last weekend that they don't have something planned for the entire summer besides having used up all of their time off.

I haven't heard anything about that yet- I'm trying to keep an ear out for that too because we have some things coming up with field trips for homeschool days (including Six Flags, Hawaiian Falls, etc.) and I'm wondering if those will be cancelled and we already paid for those things too! I think places like that -will lose too much money that they won't close unless someone makes them- even if the crowds are down. atleast I hope not! I'll let you know if I hear anything!

No, my DS will be 10 in 11 days. Thanks for the info. That my be better that way they can meet friends on their own. That will give the older a little break from always being the big brother.

Just checked out our cruise at dcl.com and Cat.'s 4-9 are showing as open...maybe we'll get upgraded again!!! I just wanted to add that I meant I hope they have another round of upgrades in general for the dis'ers...not that only certain people should or should not get upgrades or get reupgraded!

Yeah that will be better for older brother to have some free time plus the younger one with kids his age. It's more scheduled activities in the lab also. The younger one might be a bit bored with all the "hanging out" with up to 13yr olds and in fact some 14yr olds since many don't want their 14yr olds in with the teens in the teen stack so they can often get them in the OQ. LOL

ohmy... that's your youngest in the photo? She looks so grownup! Rita looks practically infantile compared to her. LOL They might be in for a shock when they first meet one another after talking on the phone. They talk on the phone just fine but Rita looks more like a kindergartener (okay almost, not quite) and your daughter looks so grown up! They grow up fast don't they! Thanks for sharing the photo.
