Love the book idea too. I've become a Kindle convert, but not by the pool and in the sand! I'll bring a couple to get it started as we're not on a transatlantic flight so should be easier for us.

Great news about the TA rooms being assigned(and with upgrades). Now I'm checking daily to see if they've gotten to our "spotted" cruise. Do they notify you by email or do you just see the change in your reservation when you check it?

I think I had to keep checking the website (Disney's) to see if my room assignment had been made. If I remember right, they didn't post it until 25 - 30 days out. I definitely didn't receive an email, but knew before I got there. I booked straight through Disney and just use my Castaway Club number to check on my cruise. Last year there were lots of upgrades, we booked a 6 and got a 4, and I know people that booked a 12 and got a 6 . As much as I'd like to save money and book a cheaper room, I'm always worried that we won't get an upgrade. So I choose what I would really want and then pay for something in the middle (price wise). We are booked in a 5C this year (thanks to the military discount) otherwise we would've been in a 9 this year. Still hoping for an upgrade, but if we don't get it my feelings won't be hurt.

I can't believe we have less than 2 months till this cruise.

It is very beautiful there. Mdina is amazing and there is a craft village right outside of the city that you can buy their blown glass, silver filigree and jewelry. You can check out the website here, www.vallettaglass.com
Marsaxlokk fishing village is very nice too, all the brightly colored fishing boats and the outdoor market they have too. Also, if you can make it up to Popeye's Village, where the 1980s movie, Popeye, starring Robin Williams was made. They made that village just for that movie, it is pretty cool up there.

Thanks for the suggestions. I really need to get moving on my plans, as we will be sailing before we know it.

We are booked in a 5C this year (thanks to the military discount) otherwise we would've been in a 9 this year. Still hoping for an upgrade, but if we don't get it my feelings won't be hurt.

We weren't by any military last year, but that was after the free upgrades. Last year there was a lot of military on the ship. The discount came out just in time for a lot of military to take their predeployment leave.

I'll be checking everyday now to see what our room assignment will be, hoping for an upgrade.

We are going to the Hypogeum at 1400. We want to get to the Blue Grottos first thing in the morning, they say that is time that they are the prettiest.

I just bought tickets for us 14:00 at the Hypogeum and I am planning the rest of our day. I think that Malta is going to be a beautiful stop. I am getting more and more excited as the days go by.

DH and I have Hypogeum tickets for 13:00, so we may see you guys going in when we come out!
Plus we are now thinking about doing the Blue Grotto before that as well, so Cindy we might be seeing you there too - please do not feel stalked by us!

Malta is the stop I am looking forward to most of all, as I have been there and know how beautiful it is going to be - not to mention the fact that it will be our wedding anniversay that day!

Hopefully someone else can answer this. We were entirely too tired to go to the clubs, and I think the kids club closed at midnight and we didn't want to leave our daughter in the stateroom by herself.

We are very happy to have the FE's include all 19 or 20 of us and we LOVE the idea of a book exchange (what cabin number was that again?!)!

We are also unable to comment on the night life on the Magic, because even after 3 weeK-long cruises on it, we still find that we so exhausted that we are ready to go to bed with the kids almost every night! When we stay up it tends to be only for a moonlight stroll! Maybe this time.....!

I do have a question about upgrades though....
We have only been upgraded once and since we flew out several days ahead of time, we didn't find out till we checked in. Is it usually only people with unassigned rooms that get upgraded? How does that work with the FE's?

And for anyone whose been to the Med at this time before, what's the weather like?! We're starting serious packing plans now and trying to figure out what we'll need!

I love the anticipation!!!

No everything is included with Disney excursion (except for lunch, unless otherwise noted)

We knew about our upgrade plenty in advance. I think a lot of people who were booked in both, assigned or unassigned, got upgrades last year. Disney will move everyone up to the higher decks in a couple weeks and then try to sell the lower decks again. Once they realize that no one is going to book any more of their expensive rooms, they upgrade a lot of people and then resell their rooms.

Last year we had great weather, but I would bring some sort of cover up if you plan on being topside in the evening. Sometimes in the morning it is a little chilly also. And we might get a couple light showers.

We only have 54 more days......

I have only been on the Wonder but they had some fun stuff at night. They have a few different bars/clubs but the best one is Wavebands (I'm not sure what it is called on the Magic) One night they had a newly-weds game which we didn't go to but apparantly it was really funny. They have comedians, Other interactive games and they had a 70's dance party. I would imagine on the 11 night they will have lots of other themes but it was always fun... and that's coming from someone who doesn't like clubs!

I SHOULD know the answer to this one ... As we had absolutely PLANNED to go dancing during our cruise last October.

However, we found out that being jetlagged at the ripe age of "past-thirty" means you fall into bed at 10:00 p.m. and never ever get to go to a single dance event

Anyway - this time we will stay in our home time zone and won't be jetlagged, so we'll be joining you on the dancefloor!
