Boy is this page dead today or what!? Hey, good news. People from other threads are hearing about the 5am meet and greet for the ships arrival and want to join in. Yay! I am now at the point where I don't believe how close we are getting. last night I was laying down thinking about something I needed for the cruise and I was thinking "Well, that's not for another month so....OH WAIT!" I was half asleep I guess. I don't know what I was thinking. And as far as belly's getting some sun, mine wont see any on the cruise, so I've been taking it to a tanning booth for 3 months now. I wanted a base tan so I would'nt get SLAMMED with sun on the frist day at sea. :sunny: :cutie: I AM SO EXCITED! :rotfl2: :cool1: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :bounce: :love2:  :dancer: :rockband: :drinking1 :thewave: :hyper2: :hyper: :scared1: :jumping1:

Hey guys...anyone gotten room upgrades of our group(s)? We have not, but I've noticed there are still openings on our boat and I really doubt there will be last minute folks paying $8K to sail w/us.

What time are folks getting to the port? I was figuring if we leave DL at 9 am we are OK but now I wonder if we need to be there to be "first" in line.

I'm getting so excited and paranoid at the same time...I think I'm having a meltdown!

We paid for a category 8 ocean view, and got upgraded to a category 6 white wall verandah. We're very excited!

I've got butterflies in my stomach! I'm paranoid about Grace catching something at school this week! :scared: I'm getting an anxiety attack about leaving my 2 dogs in the kennel! :worried:  I've packed and repacked! I can't think about anything else except this cruise! I'm seeing lime green! :bounce: ::yes:: :jumping2: :tilt: :boat:

Margaret, I hear you!! I keep packing and making list after list. I know I am making way to big a deal out of everything. On Sunday we wouldn't even leave Ava in the nursery at church because a mom brought her little girl in and said she had a "non contagious" rash. Mark and I and the caregiver just didn't even want to take a CHANCE that Ava could catch it. No way.

I was out shopping again today. Ugh, how am I going to fit all this stuff in the bags? I thought my lists would keep me from overpacking but I doubt it. How am I going to fit Champagne and wine in my bag?? I'm stressing over fitting everything. I already have one huge bag packed for just the girls. Now I have to start on mine and then all the carryon stuff. Ugh.

How do you get upgraded? Do you call and ask? Or do they just call you? I gotta talk to my TA.

Upgrades are random and consider yourself lucky if you get one. The trend seems to be those who booked a GTY (guaranty) room. The other option is to pay for an upgrade once you check in if there's rooms available in the category you want.

We are nowhere close to being packed! We're not stressed out yet, but we will be in the next 24 hours if we don't make much progress.

My DW wanted to ask if any of you ladies would like to jog or power-walk in Deck 4 in the mornings. She wanted to know if there are others who may want to join her in getting some early morning exercise and enjoy the sea breeze. A good way to get rid of the pounds from the previous day's calorie intake.

YEAH!!! I am getting excited!!!!

Hey, THREE points/questions for all of you....

1) How many bottles of wine are we allowed to bring on-board?
2) Do any of you practice Martial Arts? I have the World Championships in mid-june and i would love a sparring partner...! :-)
3) Anyone know if the shuttle from the Sheraton hotel needs to be pre-booked?

PS- WELCOME GUPPY!!!

Hey everybody. I have definitely reached the stressed out stage. I'm completely paranoid about getting sick.

Bad news - Mattie tested positive for strep throat today. Has only 4 more days left in the school year and messed up her shot for a perfect attendance award. I told her she had to get checked because we wanted her better for the cruise. She was good about it but I know she was disappointed.

Good news- She got it now and not later. She should be better by tomorrow. She conveniently got sick this weekend so that I could take her in on the same day as Sammy's followup appointment.

Now, I'm a hand sanitizing lunatic. Sammy really can't afford to get strep. The antibiotics would be tough on his stomach. He's still recovering from his ICU stay in April. The doc gave us the ok to go on the cruise. (GREAT NEWS) But, Sammy has orders to only eat and drink items from home or the ship. Sammy's still not himself and has good days and bad days. He's improving overall. I hope you all will get to meet a healthy Sammy. If he's not better when we get home, we will do more testing.

Ron,,am I reading that right....you're going on 3 cruises this year??!! Wow!!:cool1:  :earseek: :earboy2:
Are we still doing the Wino meet at 3pm or did the time change? I don't know how many bottles we're allowed to bring. I'm bringing 3 bottles of champagne,4 bottles of wine and a bottle of rum and a bottle of mai tai mix...(drink much?). Really not all that much, but on hey, it's vacation! Plus with all this pre-trip stress, I'll need a drink as soon as we board!:drinking1

Carrie- So sorry to hear about Mattie! Well, at least she got it now and she'll feel better by the time we cruise, but I understand your concern about Sammy! Poor little guy! That must be so stressful for you. Here's some pixie dust for you all.:wizard:

Margaret, thanks for the Pixie Dust. I feel better already. :flower:

Sue, I forgot to say that Kelly's note made me laugh. That was sooooo sweet what she said about liking everybody's hair, what they are wearing, and what they are holding. The part about Mattie's soccer ball was precious. Mattie loved it. She had me read it several times.

Carrie - :wizard: POOR MATTIE! I never even got CLOSE to have a perfect attendance record (hence my spelling errors and type-o's, haha!) She must have been so dissapointed. You should talk to the principal and see if they can over rule it. That stinks! And I hope that Sammy is all better for the cruise. :wizard:
LegalBriefs - I read on another page that someone brought 12 bottles of wine on board! :drinking1 Talk about wine-o! So I think you should be ok. Ha haa. :rotfl: I wonder if he shared?

We didn't do anything. When we got our travel documents we noticed the upgrade. I guess it wouldn't hurt to call your TA, especially if the ship is not sold out.

Ron, I can handle the woman really well, oh wait you said martial arts didn't you. :)
How come noone has answered my question on the Adult topless deck? Don't tell me no one besides me wants to seek a peek. Now you two who said yall's belly gonna stay covered, bets are on that you won't be getting any of my Marti Gras beads either.

Hi Ed, tell Joy I'm game. I want to alternate between the fitness room and the walking deck. I just have to arrange the time with Mark. With two kids we have to negotiate who gets what time off :flower: Hopefully Kelly will love the clubs but Ava is already assigned all her allowed time in Flounders Reef already.

:sunny: Hot Tip #16 - When the weathers good, it’s breezy on deck. When the weathers less that perfect, it’s breezier. When the weather’s bad, it’s down right gusty. If you’ve got long hair and you intend to explore outside deck areas, bring a band or a clip to tie your hair back.

I'll definitely keep that in mind!
Curt posted this because of the part about long hair. :rotfl2: He's the tall guy with the long white hair. (He doesn't like me to say "white", but it is.) I'm the short person standing next to him.

I'm sort of bummed because my psoriasis has flared. My legs are covered with spots that look like a bunch of mosquito bites. Just to be on the safe side I went to my dermatologist today to get a note saying that I don't have anything contagious. I'm trying to decide whether to repack or just go ahead and wear my shorts anyway. I'm leaning towards the latter. Maybe I'll spend a bunch of time in the Rainforest room. Steam seems to keep it at bay.

Is anyone thinking of bringing their laptop computer along? I just got mine today--brand new!!-- and it might be useful for like downloading the digital camera each day, that sort of thing, but I don't know if it's at all a good idea. I can play DVD's on it for Sam to make the flights tolerable but don't know if maybe I'm just coming up with excuses to bring it and in all honesty I should probably just leave it here where it will be safe.
peace--
Rebecca

THIS IS REALLY GRAMMIEGAIL. OUR LAPTOP DIED LAST NIGHT AND I HAVE TO USE THE COMPUTER UPSTAIRS. IT SEEMS TO THINK I'M G.G.G. HA-NOT LIKELY!

Rebecca, I read on another thread that people do bring their laptops. They use them primarily for downloading pictures and showing videos for the little ones (and maybe, not so little ones). The thread was about security as the safes are too small to hold a laptop. Some people said they hid the laptop in drawers, etc. I was a bit surprised by the number of people who left them out. Either way, no one reported any problems with them growing legs. So, let me know if you bring yours. We may want to barter for some digital picture downloading (from smartcard to memory stick).......Gee, don't I sound PC savy......also, NOT LIKELY!

OK. OK. I have officially lost it. I have been really good about keeping my enthusiasm under control until now. But, knowing that we are packed (last night), when I read this flyer just now, I got goosebumps and started getting teary-eyed. Thank goodness, Bob has already left for his meeting tonight! I think instead of checking a suitcase full of wine, I'd better change that to kleenex!

The Man,
I was checking out the "nearby restaurants" to the port and I came across this which is a very short distance from the Sheraton:

San Pedro Brewing Company
331 West 6th Street
San Pedro, CA 90731
310-831-5663

I think Curt and I might like to try this out Friday night. I can't remember when you are arriving.
