I'm all for leaving the FE list as one, because I would want to be a part of both groups anyway. But, I do understand the problems associated with bringing (and carrying home) their FEs.

I don't know if this helps anyone, but we're only a few hour drive away from the port and we're either driving over Friday night or Saturday morning and we have plenty of room in our Expedition for a few extra boxes of FEs. If you want, you can ship it to us, and we'll just bring it over with us. PM me if that option might work for you and I'll give you our address.

We've done it before for some other cruises where people were flying in.

Amy that is so sweet and thoughtful of you!

We are not flying, but driving in--but we still are considering mailing a box to the ship prior to everything as well (if for no other reason, we are spending a week at a resort the week before in Orlando--and don't want to have to have it taking up space there or possibly forgetting to load a box back into the car when we we leave there). We still haven't worked out all the details, and haven't called to check to see if they are still accepting mailed boxes yet. But that is on the list of Things to DO in the next week or two. For those of you needing the address and information on where and how to send, here is what we've found--obviously a little outdated since Fantasy is not even listed. But since there is a phone number, I'm sure we can find out the particulars for Fantasy easy enough. Hope this helps y'all.

Boxes Sent the Ship Ahead of Cruise - PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!!

• ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.
• The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
• The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.
• The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)

Address your package(s) to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information: ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 7-Night Cruise on the Disney Magic (Saturday).
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 4-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Sunday).
• Packages must arrive by Wednesday by 3:00pm for the 3-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Thursday).

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

Especially for those of you that are new to cruising or new to DCL, even though some of the info is outdated, be sure to check out the link listed above ( http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2068966) it is still good info to at least look over--and they have it all alphabetized to make it easier to find information you're looking for!

Oh thanks, but I'm just trying to help those that are trying to figure out how to get it all to the port. It's so easy for us to just drive over, so I can't imagine having to pack for a cruise, along with the extras like FE gifts. We did it for a couple of people a few years ago that were traveling and didn't want to worry about it and at the time, there were some inconsistencies with shipping things to the port.

So, I'm just putting it out there, if it will help relieve any pre-cruise stress for anyone. :scared:

Yes, I agree that is a great thread. I have used a lot of the information on it. I was going to mention it last night, but did not have time to look it up. A lot of good information about that area all in one place.

I was wondering how many of us are still GTY???
I check every day and still nothing :sad2::sad2::sad2:
This is the first time we have not had a room number and had to wait and we are growing anxious :yay::yay::yay:

Our last cruise there were a lot of GTY cabins that did not get their number until about a month before we left. They were really anxious like you are.

And of course we had several on our FE list last cruise that changed cabins when they checked in, and they gave us the new numbers at our meet or came by and notified us individually.

Hey guys--I know we've all spent lots of time thinking about FE, post cards, laniards, but I don't remember anyone talking about what they're going to do on their doors. Has anyone started making the magnets for the doors? Is anyone going to be doing their doors? Dave and I have got LOTS of ideas from the threads on door magnets and decorations but haven't narrowed anything down yet--spent all our energy and time on the FE so far. Just curious if any of you have started and or had old magnets or pics of doors you've done in the past and wanted to share with us what you're doing. I know that I've read things about some magnets disappearing off doors, others that ended up with too many and shared on doors of other first timers that didn't know about the DISboards, etc. Read that the best way to keep from disappearing overnight is to personalize with names and such. Any one got any ideas they're working on? Would love to see (if you're not keeping such things as surprises for the family.

We decorate the doors!! :) I had zandy make all of our names years ago in characters. ... mine is VAL in Tigger.. super cute! We also have will print the new logo on an 8 x 10 and put that on the door. I alIso bring memo boards and a pens so the kids can say where they are. I have a few other pictures I bring too....I wish I was more creative on how to copy peoples pics and put our own names in! I have the patterns for the Mickey ears but havent done those yet!!

Our daughters cabin will have a mortar board around the cabin number as she is celebrating graduating from collage plus some other designs we have found on the cruise magnetic list... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2897587. they have some awesome designers there.
For our door we are still undecided. Will go to the above thread and ask for personalization of a design.

You are so nice:goodvibes

We don't have cabin #s yet either, but just booked VGT on Sunday. I am expecting to get assigned last minute.

Just have to share
Our daughter was accepted into the collage program:cool1:. She will be checking in August 15. Now we have the best reason to go back to WDW later this year.
We will just have to go visit her:banana::banana:

We decorate our door with magnets, too! Your post just sent me on a search for pictures of our old magnets - I did find one, and also one our now-lost FE, but can't figure out how to post them. :confused3 We have names that Zandy made for me several years ago - DH's is Sorcerer Mickey, mine's pirate Minnie and Mickey, DS12 has Jack Sparrow and DS5 has Pooh. We, too, try to personalize any magnets that we don't want to "walk away" overnight, or we move them to the inside of the door. We've been busy with the FE gifts, but I guess it's time to start working on new magnets and a new FE, too! So much left to do, so little time.... :scared1:

That is such a generous offer! :goodvibes

That is wonderful that your daughter was accepted into the college program! When I was in college, I was in the college program. I have to say that it was a wonderful experience, especially coming from a small town. I am sure that you daughter will love it .Congratulations!

Our door will be covered in magnets. They are fun and a great way to find your door quickly in those long hallways. (if you're on the correct side of the ship that is ) We heard about magnets disappearing too, but we haven't encountered that. Just in case, if it didn't have our name on it I put our room number in the corner. I have also heard of children "relocating magnets" to random doors, but we didn't have that happen either.

Here is what our door looked like on our Bahama Cruise in 2010 (Pretty basic stuff then) and our Alaskan cruise last May.

Some magnets are mine and others were FE gifts which hang on our refrigerator now. I have started a new batch with Caribbean/beachy themes and of course our MMDF logo. :cool1:

We will have to meet up and you can tell us all about it, and any tips that will make it easier for her. She is signed up for the recreation program. She currently is a life guard at the local YMCA.
Right now I'm wondering how to get her from air port to what ever hotel she will need to spend the night in, before checking in the next morning. I'm thinking town car or some sort of shuttle service.

With so many people doing the FE I am getting a little worried. I definitely still want to do it, but my concern is that I am flying in, and have very little extra space in my luggage. I had some nice ideas of what I am going to do and have started to work on it, but idk how I will be able to pack everything I want to bring if we are 40 families with 100+ people. Even more so, idk how I will get all the great gifts home. :confused3 How does everyone else handle this?

Anyway, if we are voting on whether or not we want to split the list, I think I would rather split it 20/20 but if we don't I will figure something out.

I'm fine with keeping the list as one or splitting. Whichever way the vote goes.

If you can't take Amy up on her awesome offer you could always keep it to 1 gift per cabin. It doesn't have to be 1 per person.
