Looking for some general feedback with the FEs. We are getting close to 30 cabins... if it hits over 40... do we want to split the list in half? or let it go.

I am all for the more the merrier! :)

I'm not an expert on FE, we've only done it twice, but each time we had 20 or less cabins on our list (our EBTA they split the cabins into 3 groups/lists, so each group had 20 cabins or less). 20 cabins may sound small, but that is easily more than 50 individual gifts/giftbags with the potential of 80. Plus, I like to give a cabin gift to each cabin as well.

So, I vote for splitting if we get over 40 cabins, as 20+ cabins sounds large to me. I'm game for whatever the group prefers, though :goodvibes

It still feels like a lifetime with them knowing, but I am hoping with the float out and the media coverage that will probably occur once it is in New York will help with the countdown.

Aww, bless your heart!

We are also still debating when we are leaving, Mitch is trying to get Friday off, but it isn't looking good. Worst case scenario we will leave on Friday and literally just sleep. Mitch even recommended maybe stopping in Orlando and finishing the drive in the morning since we can't get to the port until 11am anyways.

We are in the same boat, except with no chance of DH getting that Friday off. Not decided on what would be the easiest thing for us to do....late night driving and then crashing (not the car, just us into hotel beds!) or early, early, early driving straight through??

I am another that is not a fan of lime green (or any shade of green for that matter), but the lanyards are all right as far as I am concerned.

This is a good idea also.

I agree, not a fan of the lime green....something to do with the way it makes my freckles stand out :upsidedow

Fun question of the day:
Who is your favorite Disney character?

I am a Mickey and Goofy fan!! :)

Gabby--Eeyore
Natalie---Tink and Minnie
John jr --Donald

My DH loves Mickey (especially sorcerer or pirate) and I love Minnie
the kids love Stitch :lovestruc

I must admit that the ducks (Donald and Daisy) are sooo adorable in person!!! The shortest of all of the characters, I believe, and I'm tickled whenever I see them waddle by.

Next fun question of the day:

when was the 1st time you visited WDW?
For me and John sr it was our honeymoon... Dec 96.

the girls first visit was April 2002, Natalie was 2 and Gabby 4.

Jr was in 2004... he was 8 months.

We have gone every year since.. Living in Ga, has made it so much easier to visit Mickey and friends!! :)

It was our honeymoon as well, March 1994 :lovestruc

I grew up going to Disneyland CA from babyhood, but WDW was a whole new ball of wax!

Our DS's first disney trip was a year old to DL CA, he was two before he visited WDW. Our DD's first disney trip was 2 mths old to DLP (they may have still been calling it EuroDisney at the time, can't remember), we weren't taking her there for her, it was a trip to celebrate DS being a big brother. She enjoyed it a whole lot more when we went back when she was two, and she visited WDW at the end of that year too :thumbsup2

While Magic3forme is living it up with the mouse I would throw out the fun question of the day!!

What is your favorite Disney movie?

Currently ours is POTC (the complete series) and Tangled!!

So hard to just pick one!!

Enchanted :lovestruc

Tarzan

Finding Nemo

Little Mermaid

Fantasia

First of all, I totally agree that we are also having problems narrowing down things we want to see. I'm leary of booking private things, don't want to end up somewhere I can't get out of if they decide to rip us off (ok, so I'm a bit cynical in my old age).

We, too, are planning mixing WDW with cruise. We just have to find out how BFF's vacation days are planned out and schedule around her as well. DH can take off longer if needed, but don't know if she can or not. Maybe we can get together and do part of it together---also want to take BFF to Universal to see Harry Potter's adventure! AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME adventure for Potter lovers. pixiedust:

Oh, we agree :lovestruc We loved Harry Potterland and the butterbeer! In fact, we looked up the recipe for butterbeer so we could make it for my DD's bday party last year....big hit!

Since I have never done FE before I would go with split cabins. Still not really sure what I'm getting in to. Nor how I'm trans porting the stuff. Do people end up with a suitcase full of nothing but FE gifts? we are flying in,

Hi guys, I joined this a while back, but forgot to come by and say hi!

This will be my first 7 day cruise and the second part of my 17th birthday present! (1st one being another 3 day on the Dream!) Can't wait to meet everyone! :D

Great way to celebrate your bday :thumbsup2 !!

I did. I used our 3 carry on suitcases just for FE, and still had to squeeze some gifts into our checked luggage. The upside of this, is that we had no issue with meeting our weight allowance on our flights back, plenty of room for things we might purchase and any FE gifts given to us that we hadn't used up on the cruise. A headache for packing for the cruise, but made things super easy for getting off the ship. The reason I put it all into our carryons, is that I was bringing European chocolates and didn't want them to melt, chocolates weigh a lot too!

This is our 2nd cruise and first time participating in the Fish Extenders. How exactly does it work? Will we get a list of all participating with how many kids and thier ages? I am trying to figure out what to do. Are you supposed to do something for each person in each family or for the family has a whole?

Also we signed up for the lanyards. How does that work? Do we need to pay someone ahead of time?

Thanks to anyone offering information!!:thumbsup2

Usually, the FE gifts are whatever you are comfortable with. Some just do a cabin gift, some do individual items, some do things just for the kids, some do things for couples. It really depends on what you want to create and share.

I will send a copy of the list to everyone in involved. (it has the cabin number and everyone in cabin...) you can buy a cabin gift or gifts for everyone. I have gotten magnets, little trinkets, picture frames and all kinds of other stuff.

our gift in Sept was paint brushing with Mickey on them and baby powder... awesome to wash sand off etc.

I have a rough draft for anyone who wants a copy... just email me!!

Thanks for the information. I believe that I sent you a pm regarding the other cabin numbers in my group. Let me know if you did not get them. Thanks....we are so excited to be participating in all these fun things!!! My creative genes are working :)
