DisUnplugged just slammed the quality of food, especially Steaks, on the Magic.. they sait the quality was not good, and food came out cold. They and we, have experienced this several years ago but it had improved... what are you reporting on the Magic Food.

Boac, we are on the May 26th sailing so hopefully someone will get on Disboards and comment on the food. My understanding is that the internet is super slow onboard so I'm not sure how often I will be on the computer. I do plan on blogging while there, if I have the patience for the speed of the internet.

Has anyone gotten seat assignments with their new flights? BA cancelled our Houston to London flight last Thursday and booked us on Air France nonstop to Paris. I did get an email for my new flights (the email wound up in my junk mail). I'm afraid we may all be scattered about on our new flight! And I don't want to call BA and have another almost 2 hour hold time!

Your scooter looks great but I'm not sure I could manage with my knees; I cannot keep them in one position for long.

When do you leave the US? We leave Sun AM, hopefully. We need to keep an eye on the volcano ash.

I am leaving at the same time out of nashville with stops in atl and london before hitting BCN.

We were on the flight that left Houston at 8:35pm. That one was cancelled, and they put us on Air France leaving at 4:15pm non-stop to Paris arriving at 8:35am

This cruise will be my sixth on DCL. I have cruised on other lines too. I can't say that the food is great. It depends on what you order, your servers and their ability to get the food to you in a timely manner and so forth. We always ask our server what they recommend and it is usually the best stuff on the menu. Remember they have seen what is going on in the kitchen.

We're on that same Air France flight on Saturday. I'm still dealing with seating issues though as they have the four us spread out in different seats and my kids are going to freak if they aren't sitting with an adult on such a long flight.

I just did something totally impetuous. I went to hotwire and searched for five star hotels for my dates. One was listed for 165 dollars per night for three in a room. I went to better bidding and found that several people had gotten the W Barcelona and this looked like the same one. I booked and it was indeed the W Barcelona. I think this is going to be a great trip.

Send air france an email and tell them if your kids bug the people they sit with, you will not be held responsible! They might be able to make sure you are sitting together.

Tammy, that's great! I had looked at Hotwire briefly to find another hotel for DH the night of June 5th since his flight is not till June 6th. We originally had an apartment for the 4 of us for 190 euro but I figured he didn't need all that space. So I bid on priceline for a 5 star in La Ramblas area, then had to try again for a 4 star and got some unknown place 2 miles away in the business district! I emailed priceline but don't think I have any recourse. But we'll need to catch a cab from the port to the hotel and drop off the bags, then we will have the taxi take us straight to Las Ramblas where we'll start touring, then the kids and I will head back by taxi to the ship and DH will continue on to his hotel to sleep for his early early flight. Got the room for $110 US so guess that's not too shabby. Certainly nothing like where you are staying though! Amazing!!!!

110 us is pretty amazing too. I was shocked at getting this hotel.

Tammy, that is what I always do too. My husband keeps telling me, just order what you want, I tell him I want what the waiter wants!

Everyone the concierge just notified me that a wine tasting can be set up for June 4 at 2 pm. If you want to take part I need the names, reservation numbers and cabin numbers of everyone in your party that wants to participate. Have I missed my window of opportunity to purchase tickets to climb the Leaning Tower of Pisa.....I went on the web site and the tickets that are available to be sold starts on June 6. We are going to be there on June 1. If anyone has any information, I would appreciate knowing if I'm out of luck on this one.
