Jeisur - Good luck with the tree. We just spent a bazillion dollars taking one down. Our Homeowners Insurance did a hazard analysis and wanted it either trimmed or removed. Because this is Florida and Homeowner's Insurance EXPENSIVE and the tree was pretty old we decided to remove it rather than risk a potential claim. Pretty interesting to watch though.

Pretty much why i HATE insurance in Florida. We have been dropped 3 years in a row. It is getting quite annoying! Plus we are near coastal so that doesn't help. Large trees are NOT cheep. We have to replace it with a tree...according to our county ordinance. BAHHH! At least it is almost done, they remove the stump tomorrow morning.

One more question for those with kids. Is there a charge each time your child visits the kids club area? I thought I read there was a charge for babies, but I didn't know about the 5 year old set. Thanks

FYI for those kids under they 3 can visit the kids club with a parent. Our son hangs out there a lot with us when he gets bored running up and down the halls.

Got any remedies for Burns - I just burnt myself 2x iorning. Once on the hand and once on the bicep.

Former Brownie & Girl Scout here...

Yep, I do.....PURE aloe vera. You can buy any product in the stores, usually 99%. IF you can get you hands on an aloe vera plant, so much the better. Just put some of the sap (or gel) onto the burns. Bicep? pray, tell how did you manage that? Do you use an ironing board or just wear them as you iron? My solution for THAT is to buy wrinkle free clothes. Much easirer:rotfl:
When my youngest DD laid her arm on a hot toaster, my neighbor brought over the pure plant goo and it never even blistered or scared. I'm a believer!! *insert Shrek tune here*.

renegade7: we were on Delta flight #94 originally but felt safer cancelling when they moved the return time up to 10am. I understand that DCL has people booked on that flight so there shouldn't be any problem getting to the airport on time. Way back then nobody knew that and it made me too stressed out to have to spend the whole cruise worrying if we were going to miss our flight. We switched to AA/Iberian and they ended up doing the same thing. In hindsight, we probably would have been better keeping our original flight, but who knew? Now we have to layover at JFK and take the first flight back to Raleigh the next day. Dealing with airlines is never easy, but at least we'll have good company on our long flight to Barcelona.......Peter and Jenn, I already packed you a nice bag of Starburst!

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:
We're outta here tomorrow morning on the first leg to Barcelona. We'll spend the evening near Atlanta and fly out Tuesday evening.
Looking forward to meeting the DIS'ers in Barcelona and aboard.
Have an uneventful trip everyone!

Not only are they free, but they are open from 9am on seadays, much earlier on port days. The kids can have dinner or lunch with the club (and they LOVE it). DD has been going since she was 3 or 4 - hmmm, don't remember which. They are also open late. You'll have plenty of adult time without the kids.

Of course my servers have never been too happy when I let Christina dine with the club. She has them wrapped around her little finger in about 5 seconds flat!

OK I know thisis last minutes and we all have lists coming out of nowhere HOWEVER ....

for those of us that will be in Barcelona early has anyone thought of being at the pier to WELCOME the Magic to Barcelona when she arrives? I never gave it a thought until I just watched the arrival at Tennerife

(copied from an email I received from Veranda Man -thanks Andy and I don't know where he got it from but he said he copied it over to the email - I want to give credit where credit is due not steal someone's efforts. Here is what Andy sent me)

watch the Magic arrive into Tenerife via webcam. I've loaded the video onto youtube
the URL is:

She sure is beautiful. Anyone know what time she arrives in Barcelona?

Sandy

I would LOVE to meet the Magic at the pier. Until I found out it arrives at 5:30AM. :scared1: I guess I should throw it in the FAQS...

7 days from now we will all be enjoying a day at Sea. :)

I got the "Blue Screen of Death" on Friday on my home computer... So Friday night and today I have been backing everything up. The purchased iTunes and music I got from friends is taking a long time. I have 18 CD's and counting.

That is no fun! :wizard: that you get everything backed up with no problems.

Sue

I worked for 7 hours yesterday. Just trying to dot the i's and cross the t's. I hope my 3 days left of work are peaceful. BTW my desk has not looked so clean since we moved into our new office space back in January 2006. :woohoo:

I am finishing packing today, I hope and cleaning the house. I have to have everything done by 3 pm (that is in 5 hours), because then I am going to shower and go get my Mani/Pedi and massage. I don't want to have anything to do after those so I don't ruin the Mani and get stressed.

Safe Travels for all of you heading out early. Is anyone else on Delta flight #94 on Thursday, 5/24 or staying at Hesperia Presidente Hotel?

4 days till vacation
3 work days till vacation
Hey there! Out motley crew of 10 is on that Delta flight out of Atlanta on 5/24. See you in Hotlanta.

No charge, but you'll want to get them registered as soon as you can. They can fill up, and only take a certain number of kids. We pre-registered our kids online. Did you see that you can do that? You still have to go and sign them in though. But, at least your place is held.
Thanks for the info! I did register her online, but did't realize I needed to sign her up when we get onboard too.

I have not had a chance to keep up with the repo thread, but someone told me that the crew was quite seasick on the crossing. Any truth to this? If so, I hope things have settled down for them now.

You'll need to get your pager when you get onboard. If you show up before boarding, you can handle this in the terminal. It's much quicker that way! The online check-in speeds up the process.

As for limiting the children - I thought the limitation happened as they took reservations, not whether or not you signed up for the club. T - can you check into this? I've often waited quite awhile to sign up just being lazy.

Yes, this is true. They won't take on more children then they can handle so you are ok if you don't register in advance.

I am super jealous that you all are leaving barcelona in 6 days! I still have 27 more to go (6/16).
Have a great cruise. I hope one of you will do a live report for all of us travelling after you! I am especially interested since you are the first 11 day and I am on the 2nd 11 day.

Enjoy...

sOMETHING ELSE TO ADD TO THIS, cOALCHICK (DONT KNOW YOUR REAL NAME YET-SORRY!} i DONT KNOW HOW OLD YOUR KIDS ARE, BUT, i USED TO THINK THAT THE KIDS JUST WENT TO tOPSIDERS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTE IN THE NAVIGATOR, HOWEVER MY SON SAID THAT THE KIDS ACTUALLY GET WHATEVER THAT NIGHTS MENU IS AND THE WAIT STAFF ARE IN UNIFORM AND ALL!! sO AS FAR FAR AS FOOD IS CONCERNED THEY ARE NOTE JUST EATING HAMBURGERS AND PIZZA!:)
