I'm done packing (took forever), I definately have a problem with overpacking :rolleyes1 ,I took a few things out already :) I'm exhausted, but, ready to go on vacation :cool1:

Off to work, 2 more days!!

3 Days left!! I told all my parents that I would have short timers this week and forget all their kids names! All ready in a vacation fram of mind! It's 5:00 somewhere!!

Sue-the bed is full and you have Christina, 6yo? I feel for you!! If she's like Lauren, that bed will or already has change about a 100 times!! Are you sending her to school and staying home and packing today? If so, :wizard: you get it done before she gets home!!:cheer2:

Poconos- Alright!! Imay pick your brain about scouting ideas some time during this trip!

Have a great day everybody!

Rita

What is the one thing everyone packed that you are soooo glad you didn't forget? Just curious, you might jog someone else's brain to remember.
:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

LOVE LOVE LOVE and will NEVER go on another cruise without my clear shoe holder!!! It keeps the room somewhat manageable and EVERYONE can find their own stuff!! I almost get a vacation from the whole mom thing for awhile!!!

Agreed! New this cruise, I'm also bringing one for the closet (one that hangs like a hanger but has "shelves"). Folds flat for travel. A friend mentioned this for shoes for her family of four to keep them organized instead of in a pile in the closet. Made me realize that things we wear frequently (PJs, coverups) and after I do laundry would go nicely in there as shelves. I usually stack that stuff on top of the safe.

We made some real headway last night with packing, so I'm feeling a little bit better today, but what we're still trying to navigate as first time cruisers--Disney or otherwise--is just how formal is formal? Is semi-formal kind of like business-y? nicer business casual? :confused3

What's your experience? What do you recommend? This part is giving me stress ...

Now I need to go home later and eliminate at least one pair of shoes--I'm aiming for no more than 4.

We go business casual.

a small set of binoculars. They come along with us now as a matter of course.

In Europe, I've found that LOTS of hotels don't have alarm clocks, so a travel alarm, esp. if you are going someaplce pre/post. I bought a cheap little thing at Target--it was 3 bucks, and works great!

I've also found 1,000 and 1 uses for a small swiss army knife with scissors, a small blade, etc. (Just have to remember to put it in the checked bag). Small roll of duct tape can be a life-saver too.

And anti-bacterial wipes.

ARGH!!!! That's hardly fair! I'm stressing a bit here. I would usually be right there with all of you - packed with days to spare. But life has conspired against me on this particular trip. Thank goodness for my packing list. It'll be the only reason that I don't forget anything.

I did start putting stuff into the spare bedroom yesterday. The bed is already full and I didn't even put any clothes out yet! :scared1: I'm sure I'll manage to fit it all in somehow. Of course it doesn't help that DNana just told me "Well, it didn't all fit into the suitcase so I'm bringing the extra stuff down to put in yours!" :scared1: And Christina and I were already sharing one suitcase...

Gotta love parents!

Sue

Hey Sue,
While you're running around like a mad woman in the spare bedroom- see if I left a Garmin Charger plugged in by the night stand. If it's not there, then I don't know where I left it. :rotfl:

Don't worry, there is clothing and everything else in Barcelona and you are there early enough to find something...

You will see people in full gowns to jeans.
Due to packing restrictions- you will see me in NOTHING Semi or Formal. ;) I don't even think I can wear my one nice pair of shoes do to the ankle brace. :headache: That's what happens when you pack and send your belongings WAY in advanced.

Celeste,

Good luck at the ortho doc today. Hopefully, he'll have good news for you.

Rita,

No problem. I hope I can help. I was a Brownie leader for 3 yrs. and Junior leader for 3 yrs. I finally took off this year. Kate is in Cadettes this year.

I'm marathon packing today. One kid is just about finished. Most of my stuff is sitting on the bed. DH & DD are not even close.

Tomorrow is Confirmation for DD. I was going to cook, but dh wants me to order out for something. Doesn't the Bishop know I have packing and cleaning to do? I can't believe how unlucky we were to get Tuesday at 5 for Confirmation. At least I don't have to work this week.

Me personally, I have 1 black dress for semi-formal and 1 black strapless dress for formal. But as everyone said do what makes you feel comfortable.

Wet Wipes & Toilet Seat Covers... From what I am hearing the bathrooms in Europe are nothing like those in the US let alone CA. In CA they always have toilet seat covers. I am expecting just the toilet bowl and if there is toilet paper I am going to guess it is going to be like sandpaper. A tip from Passport to Europe with Samantha Brown, was to always use the facilities before you leave a museum or restaurant.

I just finished packing!! Ive never been this early before!!
"Now bring me that horizone"!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

My packing is very close; I have all my clothes packed in the space saver bags. Just need to put one or 2 more items in the bags and seal them. Then put the in the suitcase. The harder things is going to be the cosmetics/misc stuff. I have all of that and my shoes in two boxes. :scared1: I think I need to attend the over packers club.

3 days till VACATION! :dance3:

Last question...where is the list of everyone's flight times? Thanks all!

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I defiantly vote for the following:
-travel size alarm clock
-mini flashlight
-roll of toilet paper (if you get icky the ship stuff isn't too comfy)
-Charmin wet wipes
-batteries/chargers
-liquid hand sanitizer for shore excursions... there is AMPLE on the ship itself!
-Slipper socks for the airplane so I can kick off the shoes

I notice that a few responses have mentioned alarm clocks but don't forget that your mobile (cell) phones often have this functionality too. It wont save you much space but it's better than nothing.

Look forward to seeing you all on Saturday and hopefully the Med will be as quiet as usual - no big waves please! LOL

Hi guys, a quick post from the Magic, we are on our way to Cadiz tomorrow. The cruise has been very busy and lots of fun. Not great weather and mildly rough seas. There are 150 b2brs onboard and we have been thinking about you getting ready to meet us. We'll see you in a few days in Barcelona. Internet is a slow download so we haven't been posting. See you soon, Kelly
