Hello Dear Friends! :cool1:

I had a few questions....:confused3

First, after the cruise, my girlfriend and I are going to Malaga(Costa Del Sol), for a couple days, then up to Madrid for a couple more, and I was wondering if anyone else had plans to spend some additional time in Spain? We are going to Malaga not only because it is Gorgeous, but so we can take a day trip over to Tangier, Morocco and Gibralter (I've been to both several times and LOVE going there). Then we are going to Madrid and getting a car and hitting Toledo and some of the surrounding areas. It's going to be fun, and I just wanted to see if we will see any of you in one of or both of those cities?

We're staying two days in Barcelona. Going up to Montserrat for the day on Wednesday and no plans on Thursday yet.

Second, is anyone making Door Signs? For those of you not familiar, people will use the magnetic sheets printed with cool designs on their door. I was wondering if anyone has come up with a nice design we could download and use on our doors as well... :woohoo:

Planning to, just haven't gotten that far :guilty:

Lastly, are we all meeting up on the first day so we can finally see each other in person? :grouphug: It would be nicce to touch base, and if we have a listing (voluntary of course) of where everyone is located and of the events we have planned, that would be great... On a previous cruise we did a "DIS-Navigator" in lime green and handed them out to everyone... Just a couple thoughts.... :rolleyes1

Sounds great!! We are still having a sailaway party. What about meeting after the lifeboat drill on Deck 10 shoreside (whichever side that happens to be)? Ron will bring the DIS-Navigators that he has so graciously volunteered to prepare :lmao: :lmao:

Sorry to jump in here guys - hello everyone.

I believe just recently one of the moderators posted that the door signs/decorations are not allowed anymore.

Just double check on it before you plan or go out to buy anything for this.

Glue and tape are not allowed. Magnetic paper or magnets are allowed. This has been confirmed with Disney Cruise Lines and changed on the cruise boards as well.

I believe it was cleared up that magnetic door signs are still allowed - they are asking that people stop using tape and glue on the signs and decorations.

PS - you're to fast for me Tracy.

Doesn't work with this group! Ken add him to the list :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Just kidding, anyone want to volunteer for this? I would but I'm stretched a little thin these days with all the gifts, games, and party planning :goodvibes :goodvibes

Guests can exchange dollars for Euros or Euros for dollars onboard the
ship at Guest Services. It will be exchanged at the prevailing rate,
there will not be a charge for the exchange.

We look forward to sailing with you! Have a Magical Day!

I've been following this thread as you guys seem to be on the ball about these kinds of questions. I just have to ask, what do you think DCL means by "at the prevailing rate"? Prevailing, where??

Good question! What I was told was that it would operate much the same way as it does on the Mexican cruises. I've never exchanged money on these cruises so I don't know. Anyone here who has done this?

I believe that it is just whatever the market rate is.

We were talking about cash, credit and exchange rates earlier. Here's what DCL is prepared to do:

What about pounds? (Yes, I know that most places in gibraltar will accept euros, but if I'm going to be gouged on exchange rates, I might as well be gouged by DCL.)

I am working on new fish extenders as I type. Well, okay I am not THAT talented, haven't figured out how to sew and type at the same time. We plan on having one on our, lonely end of the hallway room, fish as well as making another for my in-laws (lonely end of the hallway room too).

Just have to find time to bust out the sewing machine. Still have to polish off a few outfits for the DS. He LOVES the custom Mickey overalls I make him... he is getting a special "world traveler" pair as well as a pair for his second birthday on the cruise! :)

Is anyone interested in a book exchange on the boat?

Hubby is into mystery, sci-fi and general fiction. OR if anyone brings a book that they finish just drop it off at our door so we can read! :) HEHE!

We tend to have more down-time due to naps for the kiddo. Books are our friends. Too bad the new Harry Potter isn't out til AFTER the cruise.

If anyone needs help passing things out to fish let us know. We do a LOT of running up and down the hallways in our free (kid has to much energy to burn) time.

I had wondered if there would be any arrangments for book exchange. Regardless of how busy read several a week and is hard to carry that many with me. Would be interested in exchange.

How are the "wheels"? Getting around now? Is the move done and you're all unpacked?

I just joined DIS today and I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing, but wanted to say that myself and my two best friends will be traveling on the 5/26 Med cruise Cabin 8046, Cat 3. As a CM I've been on at least 1-2 cruises a year for the past 5 years. It's the whole reason I started working there part time. Anyway-again just starting to learn about the DIS community and think it's amazing so far. Please feel free to send me any helpful messages and would love to attend some of the DIS events if newbies are welcome. Thanks! :hippie: :flower3:
