May 26, 2007 (5/26/07) "First Magical Med Cruise!!" (The M&M's!)

Boy have I got a story for you guys...

Kathy (Littleowensmommy) called tonight from their almost new home of Coronado. After a very busy week of trying to pull together their new home plans, moving and rushing around to make it all come together in a single week, Kathy took a big mistep and ended up breaking her ankle and a severe sprain on the other! She is currently in a wheel chair and trying to figure out how to get home and organize for the movers to come next week. As if it wasn't enough to be moving across country, DH changing jobs, kids leaving school early, selling and buying homes and being homeless in between the movers and the cruise beginning! OY She promptly told the doctors that she had to be able to get on this cruise in 4 weeks and that was that! They are hoping that she will be on a cane by then and the sprain will be well enough to walk. Needless to say she will not be on top of the tables flamenco dancing in Cadiz Anyway she asked me to post what was happening and said she should be able to get online in a couple of days to say hi. Some pixy dust would be good about now.

FAQs are updated. No, I don't have the dining rotation posted. But most of the unanswered questions are now answered. We're still waiting back for a final on the food question (what can be taken from the ship into port). I'll update when we get the answer.

Here's the info I posted earlier:

First up is FRIDAY EVENING: Enjoy the light, water and music show of the Magic Fountain! Show begins at 8pm and runs every 30 minutes until midnight. Time for our meet is 8PM. We will meet at the base of the fountain near the steps to the Museu National d'Art Catalunya. To get there, go via Metro (or foot power) to Placa Espanya. Go through the tall columns following the small water fountains until you reach the big oval Magic Fountain. We'll meet on the far side closest to the steps. Look for wild and crazy DISer's speaking English (it's kind of hard to miss a DIS group).

Here is a picture of the fountain in fully glory. Here is an orientation picture from the steps at the Museu National d'Art Catalunya. The oval fountain at the bottom of the steps is the Magic Fountain. If you keep looking in the distance you will see two tall columns. Those mark the entrance at Placa Espanya.

we will try to make it, that's the day we plan to do montserrat, kind of stuck to that day, we arrive 0735 on wednesday, and if i want to do the savings on 2 day bus touristic it needs to be 2 consecutive, so that makes friday train to montserrat day, if anyone is in barcelona that day and wants to tag along contact me, i'll have my gsm phone number within a couple weeks, placa espanya is where the R5 train to montserrat leaves from and wo we would be returning there at end of day, i think around 1845, due to last rack train down from monastery is 1730, and these are timed to meet trains back to barcelona

We're coming in on Wednesday but later than you. With the whole customs and luggage drop I kept that as a walking day. We're doing the 2 day bus turistic too - on Thursday and Friday. We'll go to Montserrat after the cruise.

If you're on the bus and see a 6 yo blonde girl with leg braces, a walker and a stroller, followed by a mostly blonde mother and grandmother - all speaking English and looking confused - say HI! That'll be us!
