Speaking of romantic, I have something you may enjoy seeing. As some of you already know, my son is an aspiring filmmaker. To make ends meet, he does alot of music videos. His latest is now appearing on YouTube. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPDbc_FsuVI

You must be very proud! He did an AWESOME job. How much of the work does he do? Does he do the actual shooting or just the editing?

Thanks so much for asking.....He is the DP (director of photography)....in a film he would also be known as the cinematographer. His job is to make things look good on film. He doesn't actually operate the camera but is responsible for everything that is shot, so he basically manages all the cameras, lights, and all the rigging. In essense, he directs everything other than the live actors. We've gone to a few of his shoots and it's very interesting. While the filming is going on, he doesn't watch the live action but rather sits at the monitor to see how it appears on camera. He doesn't get many big jobs because most of his projects are with fellow NYU or AFI classmates and they are all struggling. When he wants to eat or pay his rent, he will take any production job (gaffer,bestboy,camera operator,lights, etc.)with an established studio but then he's just the hired help and doesn't call the shots. As a result, he's always jetting back and forth between NY and LA.

Currently we are looking into a guide not sure what we will do about that. We are interested in Vatican, St. Peters, Sistine, Colosseum and Trevi Fountain.
