One quick note... the "Wine tasting" is NOT limited to folks coming to taste the wines, but is open to ALL from DIS... I will make sure there are snacks and such available... it is mainly just a nice gathering for us all in the Roy Suite...

While I was on the phone with DCL last night, we were talking about wine tastings. I was told (though it's not confirmed) that there will be special wine tastings on the Med cruises highlighting the area wines

Ron, I'm looking forward to seeing the Roy! Never have before. Would also love to see at cat 2...do we have one of those in our group?

Today is my last full time day as a paralegal. Next week I start very parttime (10 hours tops a week). Looking forward to it!!

Count me in for the wine-tasting/suite tour......I'm going to try to bring a local wine, but if the packing situation doesn't look good, I'll bring some other goodie from the Tarheel state. In any event, we won't come empty-handed!

To all the marathon people: I must be nuts but I signed up for a half marathon at the end of April. It's in Allentown,PA which is one town over from where my daughter lives. Right now, I'm thinking I must be outta my mind, but I'd rather find out now before I sign up for the Disney and end up forking over big bucks for that trip. I'm a "big" girl so I can't run, but the other day I walked 8.5 miles in exactly 2 hours and 2 minutes. It was fairly hilly terrain, which really slowed me down at the end, but I think I can do this!
The best is, it will be over by the time we cruise in May, so I won't have to be so hard on myself with diet and exercise while sailing.

Ok, so, it sounds like 1:00pm on the first day at sea would be best for the "Wine Tasting/Gathering/Suite Tour/Etc." This allows the folks going to either Brunch at Palo or High Tea at Palo to make their reservations without interferance. (Both of which I will probably be at! LOL) Would someone please be so kind as to start a list for this so I'll know how much food to order...? I am not skilled in the organizational sense....

You can totally do it!! You will do just fine. I love doing half marathons- except for the last 2 miles.

Question is already on my list! I did talk to DCL early on and they told me two ports. I just don't remember which ones. I'm pretty sure one of them was in France. Not really helpful though, I know.....

Here's the DCL questions list so far:

1) When is the lifeboat drill?
2) When is the sail away party?
3) What are the theme nights on the cruise? And what days are they?
4) When are the formal night(s)?
5) When is the Goofy PJ slumber party for the kids?
6) When is Tea for Wendy?
7) Are there any special wine seminars/tastings/classes?
8) What is the liquids policy for Barcelona? We’d like to carry aboard wine like we have in Port Canaveral, will the policy be the same? What about at ports (like Marseille/Nice)?
9) On boarding day, can we go on and off the ship until sail-away? In other words, can we check-in, go to our staterooms and then leave the ship for a few hours?
10) What time do we have to be on the ship in Barcelona?
11) Can we check-in our luggage at the port and then leave for awhile to see Barcelona before we check-in for our stateroom?
12) What is the latest DCL transfer from port back to airport?
13) Is left luggage available at the Barcelona port?
14) What terminal will DCL be in at Barcelona?
15) What ports require tendering?
16) Are we allowed to bring food, wine and olive oil on the boat from our ports?

I'll be glad to start a list. I'm just guessing on the list so far, so I'll need confirmation. I'll put a ? for now.

Couple thoughts on food - make sure you actually ask for crackers. Apparently "large cheese plate" only gets you cheese. Last time it took us over an hour to get CRACKERS to go with the cheese!
You'll need wine glasses too. Remind concierge 27 times that you need GLASS wine glasses. They showed up with plastic champagne glasses first!

I think the booklet we received recently said that Euros would be available on board. It's hard to say what the rate will be though.

My DH (Steve) and I (and possibly my MIL) would also be interested in the Wine & Cheese party. We're not really wine drinkers but I'm sure we can find something intersting to bring when we are in Barcelona. I don't think I will have any room in my luggage to bring anything from Mississippi.

Someone mentioned receiving a booklet from Disney that contained info about the cruise. Are we all going to get this? I've seen the info on the web but pictures would be nice

Someone mentioned having received written information from Disney in the mail recently. I also thought we were supposed to start receiving information about 5 months before the cruise. Since we had not recevied anything we called Disney on 1/23 and they said material was mailed around December 27. We asked for infomation to be mailed again and still have not received anything. Just curious if anyone else has had same experience.
