The guest list for the Toga PArty is quite large, and I am not confident we can fit all of the people into the suite.. The most I have ever seen fit in there was around 60-80, and we are WAAAY beyond that now...:scared1: Does anyone have any ideas? Someone emailed me with the suggestion of restricting it to adults and kids 15 or older, but I am not sure what to do...:confused3 I do not want to exclude anyone but, with the limited space I'd hate for it to be unconfortable for anyone... please let me know what you all think, ok? Thanks... :)

I guess it could spill out into the elevator lobby. Plus not everyone will be there right at the same time. People will come and go. And some will get busy doing other things.

Since it's quiet around here right now, I'll take a minute and brag alittle about my son.

My son, Matt, plays on the AVP Beach Volleyball tour and is playing in a tournament at Huntington Beach today. He won both his matches today! The tournament is a double elimination format, so when you lose twice, you are out. Since he won both his matches today, he can do no worse then 9th place. He plays again tomorrow morning.

This is the first time he won two matches in the winners bracket! I'm very excited for him!!!

Although I know we'd all like to party together all afternoon, my suggestion would be to divide the group into 3 or 4 smaller groups ...and then invite people to come at staggered arrival times, 20 or 30 minutes apart. Also ask guests to stay no longer than about 20 or 30 minutes so others will have a chance to visit and tour the suite. Sort of like the Fast Pass system LOL ...Group A: 1:00 to 1:30 Group B: 1:20 to 1:50, etc.

We might also want to think about designating an "after the suite tour" meeting place on Deck 9 (or one of the other public areas) where those who wish to continue to socialize can go once their time in the suite is up.

I would hope that all of us (no matter how much we'd like to stay and party) would be respectful enough of each other not to overstay our welcome so others would have the opportunity to visit.

What about using the suite as kind of a tour and place to get your wine but spill into the elevator lobby or up on Deck 9 between the Goofy pool and Quiet Cove?

I have toured the suite before and I have been thinking for a long time that we reached capacity and it will be a tight squeeze. :rotfl: Maybe whoever is in the "Walt Suite" and other surrounding cabins will decide to join us in self defense and open their doors too :rotfl: .

Seriously - I like the idea of touring and moving to deck 9 or 10 and continue the meet and greet there.

What about lanyard distribution being not in the suite? Maybe that will cause a draw away from the room and limit flow a bit.

1) p/u lanyard on deck 9 or 10 (hopefully this will keep people socializing up stairs)
2) if desired... go tour suite (use your lanyard as your pass) That way those not interested in the wine/tour part have a bit more option... limit it to from 1-2:30 or something
3) return to deck 9 or 10 for more socialization...
4) once group size drops a bit in number... invite group to return to suite for all afternoon party or whatever you so desire...

Just a rough idea... we are up for whatever... afterall we are intruding on someones home away from home...

If anyone is interested, you can see a picture of my son in action today.

Go to www.avp.com and look at the picture labeled "Sponsors". That's my little guy. :lmao:

Good Luck Matt! I wish it was on TV, I love Beach Volleyball!

I really do not want to complicate things, and I certainly would not feel comfortable with ringing a bell or something and kicking anyone out... LOL... :scared1: We'll work it out... just no rumaging in the underwear drawer! :rotfl2: If i open the doors to the verandah we can fit a ton of people out there :dance3: Its going to be fun... "Don't worry, be happy!" right? :thumbsup2

Pixie dust and a lot of hugs go out to Christina (SweetSue's DD) for her surgery this morning. We love you Christina and know you'll do just great!!!  And you can come to my house anytime you'd like to! ;)

Thanks to Tracy and everyone for the well wishes. Christina was just having a minor little follow-up procedure to some major bladder surgery she had last year. The procedure was only about 15 minutes long. I'll be glad to share the details to anyone who is interested when we get in the Med. It's kind of hard to explain it all on the DIS.

The surgery went very well and she's doing just great! She wasn't even sleepy when we got home. She hung out, watched TV and did her art projects. They have the air and sea show this weekend so we got to watch the Thunderbirds practicing. They are SO awesome! Christina will need earplugs all weekend. They go right over our house. I swear you can read the call signs sa they go overhead it's so close. Weather is kind of yucky though - it started raining today for the first time in a very long time.

Christina sends  to everyone for the :wizard:.

For anyone needing a packing list that I didn't already contact - please PM me your email.

Sue

He looks different than he did in the Christmas picture :lmao: :lmao:

Morning all!

I had a great time keeping Sue and Christina busy Wednesday night and Thursday! We have so much fun! It was a great addition to my vacation! Sue really is sweet- she took great care of me while I was feeling seasick  from bobbing up and down in the ocean waiting for the boat to come and get us. (We were diving) She was even nice enough not to take a photo of me- on the front of the boat recovering! Her house is beautiful- let me tell you about her kitchen, now I want blue granite! Christina was really fun and let me snuggle her- as I am having withdrawl from not seeing Noah. I'm looking forward to putting my new butterfly from Christina on my fridge- I loved the green and red. It will be a great daily reminder of the time I spent with them.

I know Christina :wizard: will do great! :cheer2: She is a strong girl and was wonderful enough to teach me some new medical stuff. (It's always interesting to learn new things- I don't work with kids and in the ICU we don't always see some of the long terms stuff, so it was really cool!)

Sue will also be pleased to know that my allergies are worse at my sister's non-cat household, than it was at her house! Thanks for all the extra work, I appreciated it! :cheer2:

I'm looking forward to spending more time with everyone on the cruise- and please let Christina know I will really need LOTS of time with someone on my lap. I know I will be really, really lonely not seeing Noah for that long. :sad1: Please have her reserve some lap time for me!!!

We had an AWESOME time. It was so fun to see Celeste and talk about the cruise. Diving was great! For some reason I don't go very often (even though I live two blocks away from some awesome beach diving). We saw some pretty cool fish - and a big humongous lobster! YUM!

Christina will be glad to give you tons of hugs and . She keeps looking in the room to see if you just might magically reappear! She also seems to think that we can go out for dinner every night now! :rotfl:

Sorry the allergies got you at your sister's house! I was worried with all the cats (I have 5) - and glad you did so well here.

I like a lot of the ideas to have the party somewhere else for the drinking part - but here's another option.

Separate the party into two parts:

1) Suite tour
2) Wine tasting/toga

Perhaps have the suite tour from 1 to 1:30. Then have the wine tasting and toga party from 2 to 3:30.

Let children under 21 attend the auite tour. There are so many options for them onboard that I don't consider this unreasonable (and I take Christina EVERYWHERE). It certainly makes it more responsible for the teenage not yet legal to drink set than having an open party. With last year's overboards due to drinking, I'd certainly feel more comfortable not having a lot of alcohol flowing around teens.

Ron - your suggestion on the balcony would only work to a point. Once those doors are open the air conditioner turns off. We found it hard to keep the doors closed when people stayed out on the balcony.
