May 25th, 2013 Fantasy Western!

Just noticed that the spread sheet includes names and room numbers.

Our room is 7648 it has
Patti Jo (me)
Michael (DH)
Sean age 10
Tyler age 9 at time of cruise

Room beside us 7650 is
Beulah (my grandmother. She is celebrating her 80th on board even though bday isn't until July)
Eva (my aunt. First time going out of country and anywhere other than myrtle beach. I really can't wait to see what she thinks of the boat)

Not sure anyone else's room yet.

Lol! we definitely have a big group. I am sending out word to the gang to join here so hopefully I won't be the go between for the whole group. They are all super excited so I think they will join up soon. We have never done the FE and honestly I am intimidated by it. I am not crafty and would hate to buy lame gifts for everyone. I will see if I can come up with some cool ideas first and then may join. :)

OK, Patti Jo, got you and GM/Aunt on sheet. Just hit the main Disney Cruise forum on here and look at the FE threads. There's LOTS of them. You can get a lot of great ideas of easy to do craft ideas, to inexpensive store bought gifts. There are also a bunch of threads on creating your own Fish Extender, although you can also just buy one on etsy or ebay, though if you're going to buy one (or two, or more) I would do so soon. I'm not sure what the turn around time is on them.

Just do a search on "FE" "Fish Extender" "FE Gifts", etc and I'm sure you'll get a lot of hits. Just remember, this is all for fun. Nothing fancy unless that's your thing.

Can I ask a question? What's the deal having different dates to book shore excursions? If we are on our first Disney cruise should we go ahead and book our excursions with other companies not with the ship? Are any of the excursions still open in March when we can book?

I would not be too concerned. Basically, everything is still available except for the cabanas on Castaway Cay. Many people book excursions even with just a week before their cruise.

Thank you so much, I am the Disney Fan in this family and I want this trip to go smoothly soo we can do it again. Lol

One more thing you want to be aware of with booking with Disney versus booking directly with a company. If for some reason there is a delay in getting you back to the ship like car breakdowns etc., if you are on a Disney excursion they will have to wait for you. If you are with a non-Disney excursion then they do not have to wait for you to board the ship. It rarely happens but it has and can happen. That is totally up to the individual to decide. Most tour companies rely on the cruise ships so that usually isn't an issue. I personally like the knowledge that just in case something does happen that I won't be left somewhere and have to make my own arrangements to get back to the ship.:scared1:

just let me know when you split the cabins up i am ready to start getting my gifts together!!!! CAn not wait for the cruise!

Hey Fantasia Amigos,
I'm sad to say that we have to postpone our cruise until Nov. We are getting a puppy in a few weeks and we just don't think it's best to leave her so soon. You are such a good group of DISers and I'm sad that we have to bail. I know you guys will have a fantastic time.

Have a great time with the pup! Pam and I will be on the Nov 2 Fantasy cruise if that's the one you're going on.

Just think. Only 9 months until your cruise!

It is getting so close and we are super excited. I have almost all of my stuff for the FE gifts now. I believe we are just doing 20 cabins in our split groups right? I hope so since that is what I planned on.

Just made our final payment and can book excursions on 2/24. Very excited and ready to go!!!!

Oh, it would've been nice but we are on the Nov 16th. I STILL want your life!!!

Getting so excited to participate in our first FE! Have been very busy and having so much fun ordering everything and anything Disney! Can't wait for cruise time!:flower3:

On the 5/25/13 fantasy cruise. Contemplating doing fish extender. We don't want to be part of a large group. Is there a smaller group out there?

Hi everyone! I've sort of been out of the loop here and am trying to catch up. DH and I got back from our mission trip to Nicaragua last week and now I feel like I can focus and get excited for our cruise. Our family will be dressing up for Pirate night if I can find clothes for myself and my girls. DH already has a costume from Halloween.

We can't book anything until March since this is our first cruise. I don't think we are going to do a lot. Does anyone have any good recommendations of excursions for us with children ages 10, 11, 13 at the time of cruise?

Is this your first time to the ports we are visiting or have you been there before? Do your kids like beach days, cultural activities, adventure, or shopping more? This info could help people better recommend excursions for your group. There ages are perfect for almost anything. We plan to rent a jeep on Cozumel which we have done on four other occasions. We love driving around the island and visiting the "wild" side. The kids love Paradise beach because of the water inflatables and kayaks. Me and hubby will probably dive either at Cozumel or grand cayman. Not sure about costa maya. May be a short trip to town an back to the boat as we have been there before. One highlight of costa maya is the $20 one hour beach massages available all along the beach in town. Town is a $2 per person taxi ride there and back. Let me know if you want other options.
