Okay, I thought I would start this thread up and see who else will be joining us on this cruise. We have 412 days to plan our meets and set up FE.

Tell us your name, members of your group and cabin catagory. I personally don't think it is wise to give out your cabin number on a public site, especially if you have small children. We will make a facebook page later where we can share information in a more private manner.

Hi Georgette!

I saw your post on another thread, with the prices. I did the calculations, and the Bahamas cruise is about $20 LESS per day, than the Canada cruise!! LOL I'd rather do a warm weather cruise than a cooler weather cruise, too.

Hi Robin, thanks for starting this thread! I have a cabin booked and on hold, but DH and I have to decide this weekend whether we're actually going to put the deposit down or not. We have until next Wednesday. I'm really hoping that we do! It's been about 4 1/2 years since our last Disney cruise, and about 3 1/2 years since our last Royal Caribbean cruise, so we're definitely due for a cruise! :rolleyes1 We've done Disney World a few times in the meantime, though. :sunny:

Edited to add:
In our cabin, it'd by my husband John and myself. If our sons decide to join us, they will have book their own cabin. They'd be 24 and 21 at the time of sailing. Also, DS's girlfriend wants to join us, so the 3 of them would book a cabin together. She'd also be 21 at the time of sailing.

Nice!!! :)

hehe, I haven't gotten to that point yet of figuring out how much it'll costs me..
I'm tired just having my adrenaline up this morning!! :lmao:

Between being on hold and trying to get the site working.....

I'm having my Iced Coffee then i'll sit with my calculator -- but you already figured it out for me! LOL

I'm just assuming my 20year old is going - he's going to be 21 next July - unsure if he wants a Disney cruise as a 21yo birthday present... :banana:d

My Mom thinks i'm nutso paying $5000 for 4, but she's not used to it... only paying for 2 adults usually isn't that expensive.

It's handy going out of NY for us - I'm not a good flier, I'll do it, but I get very stressed before hand...

We haven't cruised Disney before, only other lines, so this is exciting.. My daughter will be jumping up and down.

We are going on Norwegian next month to Bermuda --- We have no other vacation plans, so I'll just put money aside every month and pay it off...

I'm going to also look into how much Atlantis costs, we'd love to do that, Nassau I'll pass on - but will get off and go shopping LOL :rolleyes1

Woo hoo, I'm in!!! Thats assuming I can save up the money and find flights from England that don't cost too much, otherwise I'll have to cancel, which I really don't want to do!!

Anyway, I'm Jody (36), there is my DS Dom who will be 14, and my DD Izzy who will be 13 when we go. We are going in a Cat 11B.

Think I need to decluttering my house to start selling on ebay to raise some funds!! :rotfl2:

Do you get extras for Maiden Voyages, like free gifts or anything?

Am so exited, we only took our first disney cruise this year which was the Mexican Riviera from LA on the Wonder, so will be fantastic to do another.

We're booked!! In an 11c for two adults, me and my boyfriend.

Robert

We live about a 5 minute taxi ride from the port, so it will be such a relief not to have to fly. :cool1:

We have a hold on this cruise currently. Not sure we will actually do it. Checked NCL for just about the same dates, almost same itinerary (Great Stirrup Cay v. Castaway Cay), 7-nights instead of 8 ... but it's $3400 cheaper, and I keep hearing that NCL Courtyard Villa concierge blows Disney concierge away. But it is Disney .... who knows. May be joining you all officially once I chat with hubby.

BTW, have any of you cruised out of NY before? We did Bermuda last year (on HAL), and here's an interesting tidbit .... we were charged NYC sales tax on our sail away drinks! We had to be a certain distance away from NYC before they stopped charging tax on our drinks. Yes, on the ship ... after it sailed away!

It looks like a few us will be "chatting with hubby" this weekend, to determine if we'll actually go on this cruise. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

I've sailed out of NYC before. It was on a Royal Caribbean ship in 2003. I actually don't remember hearing about taxes on the drinks, but it makes sense! LOL

You must have gotten one of the last 11Cs because when I checked this morning, there were only 11Bs left! :rotfl: Right now my boyfriend James and I have a hold on an 11B. We still have to talk it over a little more before we put the deposit down, but it's looking good! :thumbsup2 The trip is going to be a present to ourselves for our college graduation! :cool1:

I sailed out of NYC on Royal Caribbean in 2007 (I think it was '07), and that's so funny about the sales tax. Who'd have thought?

Hope everyone decides to join us. I know the decision between RCCL and DCL is difficult. 15 mintues ago I was looking at a Western Carribean on the Oasis of the Seas and it was about 1,500 cheaper. But I just can't get myself to book something other than Disney. Plus DH soooooo wants to go back to NYC and this is a good excuse.

Looks like a 14 hour drive to NYC instead of a 11 hour drive to Canaveral. May actually breakdown and pay for airline tickets, but having to pay for my luggage for an 8 night may cost as much as the trip itself.

Even though the Oasis is less expensive, for us, we would also need to include the cost of airfare, a hotel for the night before, cruise transfers, etc, and it comes really close in price to this cruise once you consider all that!

Hi everyone :wave2:

I think we're going to call our TA tomorrow and officially book this cruise. We have a cabin on hold, but we'll put down the deposit, and then have 11 months to pay it off. :upsidedow

I have family members who are sailing out of New Jersey this fall on Royal Caribbean and who want us to join them. I'd love to go on that cruise, but we won't put a cruise on a credit card, so we need those extra few months to make the payments! LOL That cruise is less $$, and it's a 10 night cruise, and that's for a balcony cabin. But I really can't resist doing another Disney cruise, and being able to go to WDW, too. :thumbsup2

DS23 has decided that he doesn't want to go on this cruise afterall. He's becoming frugal in his old age. LOL DS-almost-20 and his girlfriend are still deciding whether to book or not. His girlfriend LOVES Disney and she's never been on a Disney cruise before, so I know that she definitely wants to go.

Georgette, which TA is giving that onboard credit? I know that our TA is giving a credit, but I don't know the amount yet.

I rec'd $25.00 on my own - $125 extra at Dreams. I'm going to see if my wholesale club is offering any OBC's...

Is it too ballsy of me to ask the TA to take over my reservation that I booked today just to receive that extra $125.00? I mean anything helps right?

I mean I did the work today ... but, money is money :)
:thumbsup2

This happens all the time, so don't worry. When you tranfer the booking to a TA, they get the credit for it, so they don't mind that you did the original booking. :) And yes, $125 is a nice chunk of change for some onboard spending. :cutie:

Actually now that I'm really looking into it --- I have a front - mid ship on hold and she has a MID ship on hold for me.

I think I'm just going to cancel mine, go with hers and get the larger OBC! LOL :woohoo:

It's official, we paid the deposit on our cabin today! :woohoo: :yay:

We didn't end up booking the cabin that our TA put a hold on. We decided to sail in an inside cabin this time to save $$$, and I booked it myself online. Also, I found out that our TA is giving a very small OBC. So I think we may transfer our booking to Dreams. Their OBC offer is good until the end of April, so I have a couple of weeks to decide, although, free money is always good. :cool2:

We have our room on hold but just until the final switch over takes place with our TA!

YAY!! I am sooo excited!

I love Disney but hate to fly. My husband hates to drive.

This is perfect!!! We are keeping it a secret from the kids until we leave. My son will be turning 6 the day the ship leaves on the 25th so this will be a great Birthday surprise.

It will be myself, my DH, son who will be 6 on the cruise, and my daughter will be 3 at the time of the cruise.

This cruise is a fortune! We are leaving in 3 weeks for a Carnival Cruise out of NYC and are paying the same price for our Grand Suite as we are for the Porthole Room. But I know it is worth it.

I look forward to chatting with everyone. This will be our first Disney Cruise.
:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

We'll be joining you all as well. It'll be my, DH, DS (17) and DD (13). It'll be our first vacation without my oldest DS (20) who'll still be in college spring term. We would have done a later cruise, but it's easier to vacation right when the kids get out of school before summer activities get under way.

So looking forward to it!!
