May 23,2014 - 24 Hours of MK @ WDW

We are there for this event as well - pre planned trip that just overlapped. Our plan for the day is to do MK in the morning/afternoon and then hop over to Epcot for a 7:15 dinner. If we can get back into MK after dinner, we will and we hope too!! But if we can't no biggie. That will be our last day there, so we will have done it all in MK anyways and I'm not sure I can stay up for 24 hours and then depart on Saturday without being a mess. lol!! At least this way we can say we were part of it at least.

I had heard the rumors back in Sept. We're DVC too and own at BLT, so I snagged a room right away and made our dining ressies.

Our plan is to leave room at 5:15am Friday and walk over to MK for park opening at 6am.
We have breakfast ressie at CP at 8:10am.
We'll hang out for a few hours then head back to BLT for a nap.

Be back in MK before 4pm. Dinner ressie at BoG at 6:20pm. Stay in MK all night till 6am Saturday!
Head back to BLT, sleep for a couple of hours...breakfast at Chef Mickey at 10:15....
Maybe head to DTD for a little bit after that or EPCOT, then back to MK for Wishes.

We wanted to fly in on Thurs, but the flights were cheaper on Wed, so we're coming in Wed about 9:30am and leaving early Sunday morning...

From what I have read they will start running at 5am from all the resorts to get guest there for 6am.

I'm thinking that may be too late for us and the buses may be very crowded. We may just arrange for a taxi.

If anyone is stay at POP and planning to be there for the opening and want to share non-Disney transportation, PM me and we can try to make arrangements. We are planning to be there by 4:30ish to start soaking in all the MAGIC!

Thanks! This is the info I've been looking for. We plan on being there at RD, and assumed the buses would start 1 hour before, but I couldn't find anything. We're at CSR, or I'd take you up on the ride share! Thanks again...

It would appear that many of us will all be at MK throughout the day. Would anyone be interested in a group meet up for quick hellos and a photo?

Would be cool to post a photo of all of us at the 24hr event on the board.

WOW! That is a jam packed plan. We are staying at POP too. Will you guys be in costumes? Hero's and Villains?

Am I the only one not planning on actually staying at MK for 24 straight hours??

Our plan includes the 6 am park opening Friday, until about 11 am. then move over to the Studios. (unfortunately we change hotels that day, to WL). After a rest in the late afternoon, back to the studios for the SW dinner, and SW fireworks. then another rest.

BUT, I want to get my butt back to MK around 2-3 am, for the last few hours of the 24 hour day…… and close the park at 6 am.

Anybody know if Disney buses will be running to/from the resorts during the entire event? I'm also hoping they run buses very early that morning since it's a 6am opening.

I am wondering about the boats to and from WL. Will we have to use busses?

We will drive down after a half-day at school/work on Friday and check-in at the resort. The plan is to go for a swim, have some dinner, and then go to MK for an all-nighter. Right now, we have FP+ ressies for Friday night at 8:40pm, 9:45pm, and 10:55pm - hoping SB will be lighter after midnight, but not counting on it.

• Dinner at Chefs de France
• Ba

• Up at 4am and arrive at MK entrance by 5am (May have to grab a taxi becuase buses don't start till 5am)
• Hang out and shop for special merchandise and go on a few rides from 6am-8:30am
• 9am KTTK Tour till 2pm
• Hang out till 6am the next day. Gonna try to stay awake

• Breakfast on the way back to the hotel

• Hang out by the pool

What time is your dinner at Chefs? We are at Garden Grill at 5:15. Heading back to the hotel right after to get as much sleep as possible.

We might want to do meetup...it's really hard to say without knowing the schedule of the party.

I have 2 reservations at Pop... but technically I won't be back at all on the 23rd to check back in (unless I have to make a special trip).

I'm thinking a lot of people are going to bow out at normal time (at least the families with kids)... die hards will stick around and probably villain fans. How crowded is MK in this 24 hours day?

EXTREMELY crowded. We happened to have our trip booked when this event was occurring last year. It is SUPER crowded, lots of lines, lots of people with sleeping kids in strollers at 3 am. VERY crowded. I recall space mountain having a 2 hr wait, BTMRR was about 30 min and best option, splash mountain wasn't too long either...I recall fantasyland being very busy. Good luck to all that are going! Pirates also had a short wait, but there was a HUGE line for the jack sparrow character meet (there were several scheduled through the night...)
