Oh no, I had no idea at all.......I've been away the last 5 days. Please PM me the details....when will he be home?

I did send one in but it must have gotten lost. Great news Jeanne! I'm hoping to get your CD out this week! Hoping....

Not sure if you heard about Peter. It was only posted on the 9/1 thread. He was in an accident at work last week. He fell through a floor and broke 7 ribs. The last update he was still in the hospital, having lots of trouble standing on his own, had a bruised lung.

Tracy, send Peter my best wishes for a speedy recovery. I hope he'll be okay. Hope you're doing well too btw.

No clue. Jenn thought he would be home over the weekend (last), but that didn't happen. There's not much else to tell but I'll update you when Jenn posts on the other thread.

So I was wondering if any of you guys have seen good threads on what to do in Tortola? I was just trying to get a feel for it, but the search function on the DIS is not my friend today.:)

I don't think there is much here on the Dis about Tortola...our cruise is only the 2nd time Disney will stop there. I did read one trip report awhile ago that mentioned someone took a boat ride to Tortola(from another island) and did a dolphin experience swim there.

Someone pointed me to cruise critics and they have lots of posts about Tortola. It was a few months ago and I really didn't read too much about it since I wasn't sure how much time we'd have on the island. But that would be a great place to search. :surfweb:

Thanks goofygal. I remember when Tortola was first announced there was a lot of chatter, I just can't find it.

But I will definitely check out cruisecritics. Thanks again!

Hey all..
Thank goodness Pete doesn't have any mean nurses like that! Today was a good day, he got out of bed and walked to the doorway and back. It was hard, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the last few days have been. Unfortunately he is still having a lung issue, they may want to put in a chest tube tomorrow. I have heard this is a miserable thing to have done, but I guess he has some fluid build up in his left lung that they have to get rid of. He is such a good patient though, hardly complains. Celeste, thanks for the advice.. I told him all the things you said, and he got a splint today because he was coughing. So I guess his nurses are pretty good. Ok.. I am off to bed. I will be back tomorrow!! ~~ Jenn

Hello everyone...
Well, the chest tube is in. He did fine, although he said it was a miserable procedure. It obviously needed to be done, he already has a liter and a half of fluid out of him. When I left he was totally wiped out, so I hope he is good in the morning. He walked this morning and took a shower. So it was a good day except for that. Thank you everyone for all the well wishes and cards. He was so excited when I showed up with 5 cards for him today! He was telling his nurses all about his Disney friends. So we so appreciate it all. Ok.. off to relax with my glass of wine! ~~~ Jenn

Happy Friday everyone!
Pete had a bad day today, the chest tube is a miserable invention. I know it is doing him good, they took 2 liters of fluid off his lung. But he is in miserable pain from it. It seems to have slowed down, so I hope they will remove it soon since it has done its job. If anyone wants to send a card they can send it to our home and I will bring it in... Peter Rollins

He got 2 more today and even though he was miserable it made him smile! I so appreciate our DIS friends!! Thanks for all your support and prayers! ~~ JEnn

The latest from Jenn.

Tracy....I feel so awful for Peter! I'm going to send him a card. and hopefully by the time he gets it, he'll be HOME without the tube!!

Thanks for keeping us upated!! I was wanting to send a card but wasn't sure if they would want to give out an address. Thanks for posting it!

I'm glad the chest tubes are doing their job, but sorry to hear that Peter is having pain from it! I hope he is doing better soon!

Saving us from the VERY bottom of page 2!

Our house is FINALLY coming back together! The dry wall guys and painters finished up on Friday. So Friday night after DH got off work (he doesn't get home till about 9pm) I had him help me move stuff from DS room. We had stored all our stuff from the office in his room since he coudln't sleep there anyways with the mess of the mold/construction going on. Saturday while DH was at work I put the room back together (all my scrapbooking stuff) and cleaned up DS room and cleaned out his closet of old clothes, etc!!! I was SO darn happy to have our space back and have ds back in his room!!!

Dh and I have been trying to walk at least twice a week at our local park. They have a trail out there...and let me tell ya....this ain't FL anymore!! Those darn hills get me EVERY time! But we are trying to walk and prepare for our cruise!!! (and of course just to get healthy!!)

And I try to get my mom out in the evening and walk a bit in our neighborhood. She can only walk a few houses down, but at least she's getting out and about and that's more walking for me!

I hope everyone is doing well! :goodvibes

Are the leaves starting to change there? They are here. I'm sure that's a lot different than FL too. Good for you on the walking. Before you know it, those hills won't be so hard any more.

Glad to hear that your house is getting back to normal.

I've checked out Cruise Critic also, but most of my research I've done just by searching online. For us it isn't too hard, though....just a matter of choosing a beach.

Heather, I'm sorry, but what happened to your house? I've been away so much I must have missed something.....was it storm damage?

Good job with the walking! Each week try to go just a little bit further....you'll be amazed at how quickly you accumulate distance.

Any new word about Peter? Anyone know if he's home yet?

Not home yet. Asked for his laptop for yesterday. That's the latest I've heard.

Here is part of the drama of my life...LOL (the house part anyways!!)

Oh, I guess I didn't post it here!

The friday before our 1 yr wedding anniversary(aug 18th), we saw stains on the 1st floor ceiling. Went up stairs, took out the extra sheets/towels from ds bathroom cabinet and saw TONS of mold! Looked in our office that shares the same wall...mold on the floor and wall! Contractor came out that Saturday to look and said he'd be back monday to tear it all out. (took mom to airport that day). Sunday at 9pm...septic backed up and we had what we thought was water leaking in the garage.

Know how hard it is on a Sunday night (in AL) to find a 24 hour service that actually is open??? The guy who came out finally left at 2am in the moring! Surprise...it's our Anniversary now! (and 1 month since dad passed away). We slept for about 2 hours and got ds up and ready for school. Contractor came, knocked out the drywall and found the leak. Plumber came and closed it up. Needless to say, we never did get out to dinner to celebrate! I think we got burgers and fries so I wouldn't have to cook! :sad2:

We basically have been waiting for a MONTH now for them to come back. They had to order a new custom made sink/cabinet area for ds bathroom. They just came back yesterday to tear out the old one...found more mold under it. They poored TONS OF BLEACH on the floor!!! Had to tear up tiles also. Still waiting for the carpet guys to come in and replace the carpet in our office. So basically all our stuff from that room has been stored in our hallway and ds room (since he can't sleep in there because of the mold!). WHAT A MESS:scared1:

Yes, it has made us sick. So ds is sleeping on an air mattress downstairs, I moved my desk into my bedroom, and we are basically trying to stay out of our office and ds room! Ds missed 4 days of school from being sick. We both have bad allergies! Hopefully by next week it will all be fixed!!:wizard: (at least it is covered by the waranty!!!!!!!!!)

Also our dog (well, my mothers dog) fell 9 feet from our back yard to the driveway! (on a friday night over the labor day weekend!!!) Dh was at work, mom was still in FL...so I got to drive 45 minutes away to the ONLY emergency vet open for the weekend!!! Belle is fine now...her "toe nails" got knocked off...and that was why there was bloody paw prints everywhere! Poor Belle!!! I had to buy baby socks to cover her foot, give a few different meds and soak her foot twice a day!

Right about now I'm ready for a vacation for sure!!!!

Yeah, we are walking two times around the park now....and plan on adding a lap in the next week or two!! each lap is .75 miles...so we are walking 1.5 miles right now!!
