May 21, 2012 - Mickey's Mooseketeers Take Alaska 2012!

Richt after I posted yesterday about brunch - I changed it :) Decided to do it on the last sea day instead.

Glad they are doing a cook out - they did that on Panama Canal Day as well.

Hi, everybody. I just wanted to drop in and let you know that after the new 2013 itineraries were released, I shifted a couple of my upcoming cruises and will now be joining this group, rather than the September sailing I had originally planned. It will be myself (Tara), and my then 9 year old son (Caleb) sailing together. I have a lot of reading and catching up to do on this board! Also....if it's not too late, we would like to add ourselves to the FE, if possible. If it's too late, I understand. Right now, I have a lot of planning to do, but I am VERY excited!!

After reading through these posts, it seems like most of you have all your plans in order....which I do NOT. This is not normal for me, as I am a meticulous planner (some would say overplanner, lol). But, since I changed my reservations last minute and am going to Alaska over 3 months sooner than planned, I guess that's to be expected. I am, however, feeling overwhelmed right now over flights, accommodations, shipboard activities, and port adventures. :scared1: Time to get the spreadsheet going!!!!

Also, I noticed that there are 2 other parties from New Mexico joining this cruise. I'm from Cedar Crest, just outside of Albuquerque on the green side of the mountains. What a Small World, Indeed. ;)

Haven't been on here in awhile. Hope everyone is doing great! We are getting excited! We would love a scavenger hunt- not sure if I can convince DH to come to breakfast in his PJs either! Meet and greet at 3 sounds perfect. :)

New Mexico will be well represented in this group! My daughter (Satarma) lives in the NE heights and I am in Los Lunas. I believe the other person from NM was from Los Alamos. It will be great to get to meet you!

Welcome! If you could take a look at the first page and send me your info so I can get you updated. And you still have time for the FE - glad you are joining us!

Celebrating: Every cruise is a celebration to me ;)

Hi all!

I'm going to put together the master list/spreadsheet for the FE to help A Litle Pixie Dust out. If you have adds/updates in the future, please send them to me!

Also, does anyone object to me putting the document out on Google Docs (password protected, of course)? If so, please PM me before the 19th. We had the list out where all could access it on a past cruise and it was really helpful!

Thanks!
Michelle

Michelle's mom here (she's mrp4352). I'm a lurker but just felt the need to jump in today because it really feels near! We're in double digits finally. Wednesday (payday) we book the dinner cruise in Vancouver for the night before we sail and then all our ducks are in order. Michelles turns 40 right before the cruise and I can't think of a better way to celebrate. It will help me too, because somehow it seems my kids birthdays are harder on me than my own. My baby turned 34 last week and Shell turns 40 in May well, that's just not possible.:rotfl: Of course I was twelve when I married. Have a good weekend, cold here in Dallas but the sun is shining. TTFN!

Hi Vicki,
We will definitely need to get together on the ship! My daughter Christy (Satarma) and I travel together like you and Michelle do. My baby turned 36 in November and Christy turned 41 in September, so our kids are even about the same age :-) I didn't marry at 12, though :-) I turned 64 last Sept. right after Christy had her birthday. Anyway, I thought the similarities were cool! I'm looking forward to meeting you and Michelle.

I'm the "kid" of my mom-and-kid traveling duo, but my mom would love to join you guys if any sort of gathering is planned. I am 30 and mom is in her late 50's, both of us with separate lives and activities normally, but a passion for travel that nobody else in our daily circles seems to enjoy, so we end up planning our adventures together. When we were talking last week about what types of activities would be fun on our sea days, her requests were to find similar folks for a lunch together or a walk around deck, so while we are definitely planning to make the first day meet, if any sort of adult-kids-with-their-amazing-mom's meets/meals/etc get planned, count us in!

I'm Michelle (Vicki's daughter)! I can't believe there are at least three mom-daughter groups! Very cool!! We do need to plan a get-together on board.

We also have "Mom" traveling with our family. It's my husband's mom. I'm sure she would also like to join the Mom's gatherings. Her name is Wilma. While she may be older, she can run rings around all of us.

She even signed up for the ziplining.

Hi all!!

I'm usually just a serial lurker, but you all seem so nice that I decided to join in (a little bit late, sorry)! I've read all 18 pages of this thread! My group is a bunch of Alaska newbies (one of which is 81 years old!). As a matter of fact, this is only our second cruise ever - the first being on the Dream in October. I finally talked the group into occasionally vacationing somewhere other than WDW!

We're 6 people all together - DH and myself, DD8, DS5, and my elderly parents. I'll PM my info to A Litle Pixie Dust. We're so excited for this trip!

It does seem like a get together is in order :-) Like Tiriseus, my daughter and I live in separate places and have separate lives, but we do most of our traveling together. My husband doesn't like to go anyplace, so it's usually just my daughter and me. We have our travel habits down to a science and usually know just what the other will want to do and when and how it will be done :-) I also think it is cool that there are mom daughter groups on the cruise. We will definitely need to plan something :-)

Welcome! I have added you to the roll call.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I can't believe how fast it's creeping up on us - my 90 day window opens on Tuesday at midnight! Now I just have to finish choosing our excursions...:rolleyes1

we are the last window... opens after DH's birthday... that's okay, am hoping we'll still be able to choose what we want... and if not, well, we have second (and third) choices! :rolleyes1
