May 2017 sold out already?

I just went on Disney's website to check prices for 2017 as I know they were released this morning. I'm looking to go April 30-May 5 and stay at Coronado Springs. It looks like several of the room categories are unavailable (including all non-king bed rooms). Are these rooms really all sold out already? Did I miss the boat??? I've booked vacations for off-peak times as little as 6 weeks out and not had a problem getting a room at whatever resort I wanted, so I'm hoping maybe they just haven't released everything yet.

Not sure what room type you want, but I just looked and a standard view is available for your dates. All other room types (besides king, as you stated) are unavailable, but right now a standard is showing availability:

Every date I try there are no standard rooms available at the Beach Club.
Surely they're not sold out already.

Even though I'm not staying at that resort, when I went to book POP this morning, It wouldn't let me. The website was glitchy, so I just called this morning. All was well!! Hopefully everything works out in your favor.

I Called Disney and got through we wanted to stay at grand villa studio but nothing available for 2 or 3 weeks that we were looking for. Prices came out today and they are booked up already? they did say they can put us in a 1bedroom which is way to much room and way to much $$$$.

When I was on the phone with cast member I also asked for Oct for grand Floridian villa studio and it was not available for that time either? That is crazy that is where we wanted to stay. It is very hard to accept the fact that prices come out today and you are on the phone with them and they are gone. This feels like buying concert tickets. CRAZY

Villas are a different beast. You are unlikely to get a VGF studio via cash booking with Disney, ever. Most villa inventory does not release for cash booking any less than 11 months out. Villas are DVC properties and any inventory made available to Disney is done based on DVC point activity.

The VGF studios aren't gone. They just aren't available for cash to a non-DVC member. Similarly, a Poly studio villa wouldn't be released for cash this soon; while Disney still own 30% of the units (vs. DVC) they may be planning to declare them into the condo association in 2017 and thus they can't be booking them cash in advance of that.

Trying to accomplish anything on the first day that something is announced is ALWAYS an exercise in frustration, if not futility. Wait til tomorrow. Or next week. By then everything will have been properly loaded into the system and the glitches fixed.

And auroraborealis is right about the DVC resorts. They operate very differently from resort rooms.

Yeah there's nothing available for Thanksgiving week anywhere in 2017. I'm certain it's just a glitch. Try tomorrow or call them.

Thank you! Sorry, I worded that wrong. I do know about the 499 days thing - we have had 2017 rooms booked since last year. But there was nothing available before Thanksgiving, because this morning wasn't showing anything available for the beginning of November. Lots of stuff is glitchy today.

Thanks for this, too! I didn't realize Thanksgiving was still that far out. We have to book around ds's school schedule, so was trying to price out our options- looking like we prob need to pick from either Easter week, Thanksgiving week or the week of Columbus day. Good to know Thanksgiving will still be an option; we went this past Thanksgiving time and loved it.
