*** May 2017 Disneyland Check-In ***

Add me! May 3-6. I will be taking the train with my sister and our 4 kids! We'll be staying at the Courtyard Marriott with the water park. We got a king suite with bunk beds so we can all be in the same room. I wanted to stay on site but the cost difference is so significant! I'm excited for the water park, too, as our kids really aren't in the park sun up to sun down kind of kiddos. I'm excited to take the kiddos back!! My husband and I are also planning our September or October trip for Halloween again. Our APs expire 10/10...and I'm not sure we'll be renewing - time will tell!!

May 21-25!! We're staying at Dolphin's cove - me and my husband, plus our 2 kids (10 and 20 months), and my parents. We're pretty excited, as it's been 15 years since my last visit. We took our older son to WDW about 4 years ago, and it wasn't his favorite due to ALL of the distance between attractions, so I'm confident he'll enjoy this much more.

Thank you so much! I totally agree with trying things I wouldn't normally get at home. Lobster nachos & blue raspberry vodka sounds amazing :worship: I will definitely be adding Cove Bar to the list!! Oh and churros - one can never have too many churros.

Oh, I forgot..for a lowkey start to the day in DCA we LOVE breakfast at flo's v8! Everything there is around 8 bucks, and you can sit on the deck facing RSR and watch the cars go by. No other quick service can match the view. We always split the caramel brioche french toast and the breakfast tamale plate.

Wow, that sounds amazing! Definitely adding this to our must-do list :cool1:

We have reservations at BWPPI for May 7-11 and we'll be buying 3 day, 1 park per day SoCal resident tickets. It will be a crazy few days with our 8, 6, 2 & 4 month old!

We are staying at the same place at nearly the same time. :thumbsup2 We are the 6th-10th. See you at the turnstiles ;)

Question for the group...

Before I booked I looked at the calendar of events and school breaks thread, and the only thing noted during our trip is Bat Days. I had to google what that was.

Does anyone have experience on how much that effects crowd size? It seems to be a decent gathering, but not anything near the size of dapper days.

It's listed as the entire weekend, but I'm blocked out for that Saturday. So we will start parks on Sunday, and I'm assuming that would be the case for a lot of locals participating in Bat Days.

I've never even heard of Bats Day. It doesn't look like it's anything official from Disney so it's probably an off shoot interest that gets some marginal increase in crowd activity. I'd say to not worry about it too much. On their official website, they have a meet-and-greet dinner that only has 30 tickets available.

Hi, My DW and my 3 kids (DS 6, DD 3, DD 1) are planning a trip from 4/30 - 5/5. We went three years ago during early September when it was slow. I know May is known for having lots of Graduation events but Isitpacked.com says this week will be pretty light for crowds. Is the beginning of May pretty light on crowds, historically speaking? Also, now that we have a 3rd child with us, my DW and I are worried that it will be too hard for us with just 2 adults. Should we wait till they are older or will we still be able to enjoy the park trying to manage 3 little ones?

Also, we stayed at the DLH last time and this time we can't afford that so we are thinking of staying at the HOJO or the Courtyard Marriott. I hear those are ranked pretty high for good neighbor hotels.

Welcome to all the new people. I've been busy for the last week and not on Disboards so I'm happy to see so many new people have joined our group. Not long now until we go :-) I've found a facebook page called DLR Prep School, which is changing to Disneyland Daily. This lucky lady goes to Disneyland every week (she's living my dream) and her page has heaps and heaps of useful blogs about Disneyland. Planning tools, tips etc. If you're not a regular visitor, it might be handy to have a look.

I'm hoping this week is light as well! Hopefully someone in the know will have some insight.

We'll (me, dh, ds4, ds1) will be there 4/29 thru May 3rd! Can't wait!

Good to see so many chiming in for may!! I'm getting more and more excited!,

We changed our plans a bit and are now staying in a beach house in Newport Beach. My teenagers love the beach and I do too, truth be told. For a 30 minute drive it's not a deal breaker. We're only going to do 2 days at the parks this visit...and I heard through the grapevine that the Guardians of the Galaxy tower of Terror ride is reopening may 27!!! So, we'll do DCA that day now (even knowing it'll be crazy busy and the start of Memorial Day weekend!!), and do DL an earlier day that week. Hoping for a rainy one, we like those best ;). Lower crowds are worth a bit of rain :).

We're fostering the sweetest 4 month old baby girl and I'm hoping we'll either get to adopt her or at least still have her living with us so she can go too.

Hoping to hear more about Fantasmic and the vague "summer 2017" dates that several fun things are opening!
