May 2016 Car Rentals

Anyone have experience renting from Budget at MCO? Costco travel has decent rates for our May trip right now and I'm considering switching from our existing Alamo reservation to Budget.
Ive used them before, no problems, no upcharging, nothing like that...sign up for fastbreak and skip the counter

Hi there! I am looking for a car May 20-27. There are so many pages to this thread I can't figure it all out. What suggestions does anyone have to get the best deal?

Costco rates for a minivan for our 11 days at the end of May are back down to where they were a few months ago. Still nowhere close to any of the questionable codes.

So I keep hearing "we got a better deal with Costco". What kind of deal h mbmbare we talking? Should I be happy with a compact card for $250 ?(including all the taxes) or am I paying too much?

Costco rates for my dates are high (5/20-5/26). Right now I have rate of $148 for full size with Alamo using the $25 coupon, insiders contract and the as1 code. I have decided not to deal with the $50 coupon. I can't find anything under $250 on the Costco site.

I just chickened out of the $50 coupon code (AD4004JDK) and rebooked with the $25 code (AD3868JST) after reading the April thread. I does not look like the code has worked for anyone past April 14th. I am traveling with an autistic child so I do not need any more problems/delay than absolutely necessary. Funny I am more worried about the $50 coupon code than the AS1.

Booked Standard SUV picking up May 7th at MCO and dropping off May 16th at TPA. $280 total.

Used:
$25 coupon code AD3868JST
Costco Contract ID 7014627 (free additional driver)
Product Code AS1

I just completed online check in and skip the counter. I will try to post after I pick up the car at MCO to let you know how it went.

Help! Can you tell me how to do this? PM me or on here. I really would appreciate it!

HOLY COW!!!! I think I did it. I joined the Alamo insiders club, then I plugged in the AS1 product code -- what is that anyway? :sunny: and I got an economy car for the two of us for 7 nights/8days with a 12 hour late check in for $154!!!!! :worship::worship::worship: Thank you disboards!!!

Still curious as to what the $25 coupon is. Wondering why people are saying they are not sure if things will go through? I have a written confirmation, so it feels like they would have to honor that? Thanks guys!

I have a full size car for 8 days (May 6-14) through Budget and Costco for $175.41, taxes included. That price includes $25 off coupon. If you have a Costco membership, try their website. I would think you should be able to get a compact for closer to $150.

$50 coupon code not working for me this morning. ad4004jdk. It says that res needs to be before March 1. Anyone else?

Same message - looks like someone finally went in there to update the code.

I've got a res for June and will likely stick with the coupon until a replacement comes along. Would love to hear from those in May who were successful in getting Alamo to give them the discount.

My wife and daughter picked up their car fifteen minutes ago using the $50 dollar coupon and Vegas Brazil. I had her check to make sure they would honor it when she picked it up after skipping the counter and going right to her car. she called me, and the woman at the exit booth wanted the number of the coupon. I read it to her, she said it was expired, but she honored it. They drove away.

I'm kind of in this boat. I did the online check-in and the Skip the Counter and the rental details don't say anything other than "Total Savings: -$50.00".
AFAIC, if they ask I'm just going to say it is "Alamo Insiders $50 Off Weekly Rental" because that's exactly what it said when I made the reservation. If they updated the terms of the coupon after I rented, that's on them.

Just sharing my experience last week. I used the $50 off coupon, AS1 and Costco for a five-day rental 4/27-5/1 with no issues. I used skip the counter at MCO and there were no issues at the gate out of the lot or when we dropped off the car (or when we traded our car with a tire with an air leak at the CCC and they kindly just gave us a new car there instead of making us go back to MCO).

I too just got back from using the $50 coupon and the AS1 code with success (4/29 - 5/2). I flew in and out of Sanford so you can't skip the counter even when you do the online check-in. You still have to either go to the kiosk or the counter. The rate came up without the $50 coupon when I went to the counter, but before signing I noticed it and he was puzzled as to why he wasn't getting the same final price as my confirmation showed. He had a manager override it and we were on our way. When I turned it back in the guy in the lot printed me a final receipt and it still showed the final discounted price. All was well other than a little confusion at the beginning and we had a fantastic trip!

Because I wasn't there, and because I didn't want her to have to deal with it after, I made her ask at the exit before she took the car. I'm going on Sunday with the same discounts and coupon, I will probably just wait to see what happens, and then deal with it afterwards.
