~* May 2014 *~ I'm going, are you?!

just found this thread and excited to post about our trip! dates: may 10-16 stay: Carousel Inn and Suites (never stayed here before) We are from the Vancouver, BC area and are DL vets as well as AP holders so we head town 2-3 times a year -- i was just there on a solo trip at the end of Feb and am now excited to go back with my family! Since we are going to be there over Mothers Day (just like we did in 2013) i was wanting to book a special dinner so I booked the Blue Bayou BUT now realized POTC is down -- not sure if my special dinner will be so special anymore since watching the boats go by is a highlight of the meal

My DH and I also booked the Blue Bayou on Mothers Day as well.... Got 11:30am reservations.... I agree about the "special" atmosphere since POTC will be down.... Hoping somebody will give an dining update when POTC is down to let us know how it was.

May 25 - Jun 1, one last trip before our APs expire. This will be bittersweet since we have had APs for 17 years, but they have finally priced us out. We sure made good use of this last AP though, as this will be our 6th trip during these last 12 months.

Will spend one of the days at Knotts to get our Billies fix, now performing as Kirk Wall and the Hillbillies.

My birthday was yesterday and I'm thinking of treating myself to Napa Rose Vitner's Table while we are down there.

My friend and I decided last month to head down in May, we have airfare from YVR to LAX for only $300 rt! That's a good deal considering I usually leave from Seattle nowadays. We'll be there from the 3rd-8th and I'll be riding out the last few days of my annual pass which expires on the 17th I think. I've really loved having it, definitely worth the cost.

I got all my reservations sorted, we're eating at the Carnation Cafe, Blue Bayou (not sure what to expect while Pirates is down), Storytellers, Ariel's for World of Color, Big Thunder BBQ, and maybe one or two other cool places like the Rainforest Cafe. Leaving late on the 8th so we can maximize our time at the parks.

I think Indy is supposed to open on our last day so hopefully we can sneak on. I'll be on my usual Stitch hunt I think. Is he still hanging around the Animation building nowadays?

I will be there the 3rd-9th, and have reservations at most of the same restaurants!

Flying in from Pittsburgh on May 3 and staying at VGC for 6 nights. Then flying to Hawaii for a week-long stay at Aualani. Celebrating my 50th BDay! I keep telling my co-workers it is a Disneyland party followed by a Hawaii 5-0 party :)

Booked the Welcome to Disneyland tour, even though I have visited before. Last trip was December 2011 (did the whole candy cane line thing!). So rather than worrying about all the refurbs going on, I am choosing to concentrate on enjoying my first visit to Cars Land. Ordered my PP+ yesterday, so it makes the trip seem closer!

I'll be there with the kidlets the 20th-25th!!! Three intrepid adventurers taking on several Grad Nites and a 24 hour event!! I haven't been to DLR since the late '70s  This will be DD23 and DS14's very first trip to the west coast period.

My DH and I are flying down to Cali from Seattle on May 17th and staying through the 27th! :) We're doing Palm Springs for 4 days, then driving to Anaheim. We're staying at Hotel Menage for a few nights, then switching to the Camelot Inn & Suites to be a little closer to the park. ;) We're excited/nervous about the 24 hour event!!! :) :)

I'm treating myself, my daughter, and my granddaughter to a vacation from May 3-10th. After it was booked and paid for (7 nights at DCG, 5-day park hoppers, character dining, WoC premium dining, Fantasmic! dessert package) my daughter found out that she would have to go home early due to work obligations. We're driving down from northern California so she had to book airfare home. I was unable to modify my vacation package. Our original plan was to arrive on the 3rd and have the 3rd and 4th be free days to explore the hotel, DD, enjoy the pools and shopping, etc. then hit the parks on weekdays only to minimize crowds/wait times. We modified that plan to maximize the amount of time my daughter gets to spend in the parks with us... so now it's park hopping from the 4th - 8th, at which time my pass and my granddaughter's will run out. My daughter has to leave on the 7th so her pass will have an unused day on it. I didn't want to not have access to the parks for the last two days of our trip on the 9th and 10th, so I've been looking into getting 2-day passes for me and my granddaughter. The extra cost is over $400. I'm probably going to end up converting the two of us over to AP and that will give me an excellent reason to take her on more trips throughout the year.

BTW... I did call Disney guest relations to find out about being able to use my daughter's unused day for myself. I know there are policies against pass sharing, but since I bought the passes and I would be using it myself, I thought they might make an exception. I'm clearly not making money on "renting" or "selling" a multi-day pass... I'm just trying to get what I paid for. My request was denied. The CM suggested that if I wanted to minimize the extra cost, I should get 1-day 1-park passes instead. I was disappointed. I thought maybe since I wasn't asking to be allowed to violate the spirit of the rule, that it would work out in my favor. Oh well.

41 days for us! I am excited that the calendar is there for our first day finally! I says there is no magic morning though and our first day is a tuesday. Did any of you find that it showed up later on the calendar? I am thinking that it is just not there yet because I can't see why they wouldn't have it.

It is 23 days until we arrive!! We are squeezing in a trip on the bookends of my daughter's dance competition in Redondo Beach. We are used to going to the parks for 5-8 days on a trip but we we will only be able to go the parks on May 9 and May 12 ( the park is open until 12am on the 11th so if the competition gets done early enough we will be back in the parks that night too) We then have to head back home because of those pesky little things called college finals. Dang priorities lol...
This is a totally different trip for me because I like to plan everything for each day but this time I will just have to just go with the flow. A little Disney is much better than no Disney at all :)

17!!! I already can't work at work lol! Too excited!

I'm in the same boat, we leave in 16 days and I can't stand it!!! I sit at work and think about all our plans, it's hard to focus on the work laying on my desk :goodvibes

28 days for us, or as I like to call it GUT CHECK TIME lol!

I've been accumulating little bits and pieces for packing and made a nice list since I'm going to have to hold off packing until quite last minute.

I haven't made any dining reservations, I'm torn between committing to eat at a certain time or finding a place near where we are in the Park based on a specific meal or snack we've been meaning to try.

I have about 2-3 days until I have to decide if we are going to do F! We only have one night to do it really in order to avoid Grads and that is Sunday the 18May.

There have been some changes to the Disneyland Calendar and what were traditionally MMs at DL aren't happening and now MM and EMH are combined on a couple of days. I've had to adjust my plan of attack a bit to accommodate the changes.
