May 2014 discounts - what to expect?

I am hoping to plan a surprise gift for my husband to include SWW - I'm thinking May 16-26ish. (He's in school and this is right after his finals). Any idea what (if any) discounts would be out? I think I can do it either way but am out of work now due to surgery so would feel much more comfortable if there was some sort of discount.

For our May, 2013 trip, we booked with a special offer which I believe was either 20 or 25% off our room and discounted tickets. In previous years, we have been able to take advantage of other May offers. Our May trips usually begin around the 20th or so of the month and end the first week of June.

Our trips include Memorial Day AND Star Wars Weekends and we have taken advantage of special offers.

I have been researching this also. I believe I seen some where and now I dont know where but there was some black out dates around Memorial day. We were planning on maybe arriving on Memorial day and I seen that Memorial day was blacked out for the discount that they had last year, but the day after Tuesday was not blacked out.

Crossing my fingers for some great discounts for the beginning of May too. Right now the AAA room only discount on the moderates is about 10% which is better than nothing. I am so anxious it's killing me!

As we are booked for May 17th thru May 24th at WL, I am hoping for dining or resort discounts too! Maybe we will hear after September 15th when the current sale ends! Keeping our fingers crossed!!

I'm thinking that we'll have a while before Disney posts any special offers for May but I hope that I am wrong. The WL discounts have been slightly less than the AKL and the other deluxe resorts. I've kept my eye on the WL for a while now but always keep going back to CBR.

Looking at a father/son birthday trip for the end of may. Wife said go for it when we were talking about it last night. Aiming for may 29th thru June 2nd. That weekend lands right between his birthday and mine. Hopefully there will be some kind of decent discounts available.

It was definitely included our last three trips which included Memorial Day.

I looked back at the discounts for May and saw in 2011 there was a package deal for kids stay and play free for the general public and in 2013 a package deal for 15%-30% off room rates and discount 4-10 day tickets. What do you think the chance is one of these will be offered again in May 2014?

Thats great ! I have been all over the place trying to decide when we should go. I really would like to go this October but we always fly and airline tickets are not cooperating It may have to wait until memorial day week. I know crowds will better in October though .

The majority of our trips have included Memorial Day. Probably at least a dozen of our 18 trips. I wish that we could go during cooler months but we like to go for long trips and the only time that we can do it is during the Summer. We leave as soon as school lets out (or a day or two before) and stay through Memorial Day and after. The crowds aren't horribly bad and we manage them by using Fastpass.

I am looking forward to seeing the Southwest and Air Tran and Jet Blue Airways rates so that I can book my airline travel too for May 2014.
