May 2010 Trips!

I just joined here today - LOL...

My MIL lives 3 miles from DL, so we never stay at hotels, but she's going thru a house renovation, so I am looking for hotels right now. So far, the best deal I've found is for a 2bdrm suite at the Comfort Inn (3 blks from the park - we don't mind walking) for less than $100/night (3rd night is free) for May 26-29. My birthday is the 25th, and DH's is the 18th, so we always try to go around then as a mini vacay for the family...

We will be using our volunteer vouchers and turning them into 2 day Park Hoppers - going to the Parks on Thursday the 27th and Friday the 28th - driving home to AZ on Saturday the 29th.

We've never done any character meals - is there a deal on those anywhere if you buy it separately?

We go to DL at least twice a year, but I am cheap and am always trying to do it cheaper than the last time! LOL

Thanks! :)

The walls were still up around Cafe Orleans Friday when we were there. It didnt change the experience for me. I was worried about the walls up before we went. The wall around ROA were down by then too and that would have been more of a factor to me.

Ok the Disneyland spiral has begun for me as I knew it would. I am now planning on going in Oct for my Bday with my mom, just the two of us. We were planning on going in March already for my neice and nephews first trips. Looks like I finally have a reason for an annual pass! I AM SO EXCITED!! Of course my husband thinks I am nuts...but whats new.

The walls were still up last Friday too, but we sat outside and it was great as usual.

The crowds on Thursday and Friday weren't too bad, but they got pretty heavy on Saturday, and we ended up leaving around noon. I don't remember it being so crowded last year when I was there on Saturday, the first week of June.

Leaving in 3 days :cool1: for a 5 night stay. Originally booked the Grand and then switched to PPH concierge to try to save money on meals and get a bigger room. Were AP's for 10 years and since we moved haven't been in 2 years *oh, the horrors*:lmao:

I didn't know if we were going to make it, but we reached 100 DISers just one week and one day before the end of the month! :cool1:
Hope everyone had fun on their trips, is having fun on their trips, and will have fun on their trips!

We just got back. We arrived at DLH late Sat night and were upgraded to a suite :worship: in the Wonder Tower! Hopefully, I'll get a trip report written tomorrow before I forget everything.

Forgot to mention that the trip report from my May Girls Weekend at Disneyland has started. The link is in my siggy if anyone is interested. :)

It was amazing - I didn't think it would be possible, but after 7 full days at the park (some with naps in the pm), the kids were all "disney'ed out!" We really had a fantastic time, though the weekend crowds were still a bit of a shock for me - our first few days were drizzley, rainy and cold, which probably kept the crowds down to a minimum. But I now understand what everyone means when they say they got stuck in traffic between NOS and the hub!! The walkway thru Adventureland is treacherous, especially trying to navigate it with a side by side double stroller!
And, needing to vent here a little - what's with the group of 5 or 6 people strolling along all side by side, taking up the whole walkway, then STOPPING dead in their tracks to discuss where to go next? Come on people - same rules as driving - you don't stop in the middle of the road, you pull off to the side!!! And they'd get mad at us when we bumped into them!
I'll be starting a TR soon. Hope everyone had fabulous May trips!!
