May 2010 trip

I'm getting serious about planning our May 2010 trip now. I want to collect my thoughts here and am always open to suggestions!

We are DH and me and our three kids, DS5, DS3, and DD1. DH's family will be coming too: SIL, BIL, and their DS6, and DD4. Also MIL and FIL.

Here's the plan for now...
Hoping to book BWV(home) for Wed. May 5th and Thurs. May 6th at the 11 month mark but switch the ressie to BCV at the 7 month mark. We'll either get a 1BDR for our immediate family or a two BDR if MIL and FIL fly down with us. We'll spend Wed afternoon and Thursday at Epcot and SAB. Hope MIL and FIL join us but not sure they will! They have to let us know by June 5th!

We plan to go to Universal for two days. So we'll move to a hotel there (preferably on-site, but don't know if extended family will spend that much) for Friday night and Saturday night. We'll either spend more time at Epcot or DTD Friday or head over to Universal. SIL's family will be getting in Friday evening (from 18 hour drive!) Saturday and Sunday (Mother's Day) we'll spend at US and IOA. We'll have to figure out some special thing to do for Mother's Day. Any ideas?

Sunday night we'll move to a grand villa (hopefully) at BLT. We all stayed at BWV GV in 2007 and it was great! We'll stay there until we all depart on Sat. May 15th. We plan to hit MK(at least 2 days), AK, and DHS during the trip. Will actually start planning specifics later.

Starting to think about adding dining plan vs. TIW.

Hope we don't have any trouble reserving a BLT GV! Do you think we need to "walk the ressie?" I think we'll just take our chances.

I think we'll work a resort photo session in while we're at BCV. Unless they start doing them at the Contemporary, then maybe we'll wait until the whole group is there. I'm thinking this could somehow be MIL's Mother's Day gift. Either pics of our kids or pics of both sets of grandkids depending on if they do the sessions at the Contemporary.

We are going down at the same time next year. Arriving on 5/8 and leaving on 5/16. There will be me, DH, DD, SIL, 2DGDs, 1DGS, and my twin sister, her DD, SIL & DD. We will be celebrating my DGD's 7th birthday and the plan is to make our reservations at the 11th mo. window at OKW, then at the 7th month window, switch to the BWVs if we can. We will be in a 2br and a 1br.
It seems so far away but is fun planning. Our 11th mo. window will soon be here!

Well, you know at least one BWV will be given up for 5/8! That is, IF we can get BCV. It sounds like there is a lot of switching around at 7months! Good luck with your planning too!

No help here on the GV. But, we are going that month as well, although at the end of May, once school is out down here. I'm already starting to plan as well. We'll just need a 1BR, but I am having a hard time deciding where to stay. We'll start off at SSR, which we love, but we are wanting to visit somewhere new, so we will see. Good luck with the switch!

We just got back from 9 days at WDW, staying at the BWI. (Yes, we had ALOT of rain) We also just became DVC members with BLT being our home resort. I think our May 2010 trip will be at the BLT. It's totally different from where we usually stay (Epcot resorts), but I think this will be a nice change of scenery.
