That's good to know. My wife and I are going in May for our 5 year anniversary. Our anniversary is actually in August. We did our honeymoon at WDW in August. While we had the time of our life we will not do August again unless we get a good discount or free dining. So were going in May. We're looking forward to May there. Hopefully warm and pleasent without feeling like I need another shower as soon as I step outside.

My husband and I are going in May for our 35th anniversary eventhough it is really in August :yay:

Well DH and I are going in May, and this Aug will be our 15th wedding anniversary, so we could call it for that reason.

We did go to WDW in Aug for our actual 10th wedding anniversary. It was good alful weather and DH and agreed, never in Aug again.

I love WDW in May. Vero Beach is nice then too.

We're going in May and are total newbies! Never Disney and never cruised! So we're very excited! Just booked today!!!

Yeah, a discount code woulda been nice!!

We can't wait to go!!! :woohoo:

We will be going in May to celebrate our 31st Wedding Anniversary, which is May 28th. Also waiting for codes.

My grandparents will also be celebrating their anniversary while we're in Disney! 51 years! They didn't want a big party last year for their 50th, so maybe they'll just say this is their 50th and live it up, Disney style!!

We're also celebrating two birthdays and a graduation.

Wow, lots of anniversaries being celebrated in May! We'll be celebrating our 25th  (even though it's really in April).

Another May anniversary here! May 25th, to be exact, will be our 17th anniversary AND DD's 14th birthday. We celebrated last year with a land/sea vacation and had the absolute time of our lives. Hoping to find a code to allow us the same opportunity this year (we saved up 13 years for the last trip and I just don't want to wait that long again).

We also have a May anniversary. When we got married almost nine years ago we went on our Disneymoon in October because we didn't want to deal with the heat, lol. The only reason we are going this year is because DH has a conference there so we'll squeeze in a trip if we have to. ;)

Celebrating our 20th Anniversary--also in May with a Vow Renewal at The Yacht Club Gazebo---Can't Wait!!!:cheer2:

Who would have ever thought I'd be 55 years old and posting on the Wedding Board of the DIS?:rotfl2:

You just never know........

Hi all! I am joining too! We went the last week of May last year and loved it. Used TGM and breezed through the parks with little to no waits at all. Can't wait to go back again this May! :yay:

Hey May!

We always go in May can't beat the weather or the short lines. I went spring break a few years ago BIG mistake never again! 6-13th!

crossing fingers for some AP discounts!

how do we know when the code comes out? post here or do we see it first somewhere else?

Congrats to all those celebrating anniversaries!!!:cheer2: Enjoy! May is a great time to go. We usually only get to go to Disney once a year so that trip is our celebration of a year's worth of birthdays, anniversaries, etc. :goodvibes

Funny, we did that very same thing some years back and I'll be perfectly honest. I was disappointed. BY far I could tell the differences in staying at a deluxe vs a moderate.

Although POR is a quaint area there's no comparison to the WL. Just the room alone is set up different. I thought the interior room at POR was similar to a motel set up with the closet area in the bathroom sink area opened. We had to keep the curtains closed because everyone walks right by your room and your window. WE actually had a corner room which was a bit roomier but when we stepped out there was the parking lot, no balcony to relax on. And, if it rained you better have an umbrella cause you'll need it all the way to your room.

We heard the family next to us at POR all different times a day. The connecting door only made it worse.

The main pool area was completely packed although I know WL's can get busy too it just had a whole different feel to it. Boatrights was ok but otherwise the only other choice was the food court.

Probably the biggest drawback is the transportation. You have to bus everywhere. You can take a boat to DTD but it does take a while and sometimes the waits to get on the boat are very long. At least at WL the boat runs frequently to MK. You are near the FW campground and CR which is right on the monorail line so there are lots of choices for dinner.

I know there will be others that will dispute my post but that's just personal preference. IF you do go to POR just don't have any expectations. It won't be the WL because it is a moderate but some people love the moderates. I'm just a deluxe snob (I found that out after our POR stay and haven't stayed at a moderate since).:upsidedow

If you're looking for a more quiet, laid back atmosphere I STRONGLY recommend a place like SSR or OKW. They are probably some of the quietest and relaxing resorts on property. The Swan is also another option.;)

Thanks for replying. You made some excellent points I would never have thought of!:thumbsup2

"I thought the interior room at POR was similar to a motel set up with the closet area in the bathroom sink area opened." I knew that, I actually visited while there.

"We had to keep the curtains closed because everyone walks right by your room and your window." Great point!

"WE actually had a corner room" - what were they like? Do they have any extra windows?

"which was a bit roomier but when we stepped out there was the parking lot, no balcony to relax on." I knew the no balconies, no big deal to me, but I didn't think about people being able to look in!:scared1: Where as when you are about on the 5th floor your not so concerned.

"And, if it rained you better have an umbrella cause you'll need it all the way to your room." Excellent point! You can wait for the bus under cover at WL. You get off the bus and take a few steps and your undercover! Using the boat, you are not under cover till you get to the dock and then it is simular to MK boat access. Oh yeah thats where we get off! But people who walk by at the MK would understand what it looks like at WL too.

"We heard the family next to us at POR all different times a day. The connecting door only made it worse." Do you think the quality of insulation is worse in moderates then deluxes or do you think you just happened to have a loud family and the connecting door made it louder? I have heard that you don't want a connecting room door if you don't want to connect. But they all be that way? When we were at WL we had connecting rooms because the family was there.

"Probably the biggest drawback is the transportation. You have to bus everywhere." I totally agree!:sad2: That was the first thing I had to deal with and swallow. I love the boat ride to MK!:cloud9: I would actually take the long way home in the afternoons and ride the monorail from Epcot to MK and then take the boat because I love both modes of transportation! But then again, maybe not! Buses are slower in the afternoon and we always had poky Pedro for a bus driver from and to Epcot! That's what my husband nicknamed him! He was the slowest of bus drivers!! Many bus drivers went flying by us when we were with him!

Thanks again for your thoughts to ponder. If we stay there, I will have my mind already adjusted for that!;)
