MAY 2007 Disney Anniversary Trip at POFQ, with kids! And LOTS of pictures!!

Day 3 - Tuesday May 15th - MAGIC KINGDOM

As I said before, my family is not one to open and close a park on the same day. So knowing that I wanted to be at MK at opening and at closing, we set out to do it in 2 days. Day 1 - Opening, Day 2 - Closing. We chose Tuesday and Wednesday because they weren't EMH days at MK. The only downfall to this is that they weren't doing Spectromagic these days. I was hoping this was a wise choice to avoid the crowds. And I was right!!! We hardly had any waits both days. And now Spectromagic is added to my list for the next trip! :wizard:

On Monday we had used the alarm in our room and it worked just fine. Not so much on Tuesday! Had it set for 6:00, or so I thought. I woke at 6:40 and it had never gone off! :scared1: After a moment of freaking out we all managed to get ready and be out the door by 7:05. How we did this I still am not sure! And then the bus to MK came right away!! Great, we may still make our 8:00 ADR at the Crystal Palace after all!!

Got to MK in plenty of time. Lined up in the ADR line and they let us in around 7:45. Got some great pictures of Main Street pretty much empty and then made our way to the Crystal Palace.

Checked in and waited about 5 minutes and we were called and seated. The characters weren't out yet so we made our way to the buffet. Great food and excellent choices. The characters started to make their rounds. pooh: :tigger: First Pooh, then Tigger, later Piglet, and Eeyore got a late start. It was nearing 9:00 and we were done eating and wanted to get out into the park by 9:00, so we decided not to wait on Eeyore to get to our table.

100_1642-1.jpg

We were headed to Fantasyland. Not sure why, but this is what we had done first on the last trip so we thought it was tradition to do it again I guess! First up was Peter Pan's Fight, then Small World, Philharmagic :3dglasses , and Snow White. All with NO WAIT!!!

100_1660.jpg

100_1661.jpg

By now the line for Dumbo is huge, of course. We promise the kids we will do it later, or tomorrow. It's not quite 10:00 and Toontown isn't open yet, so we head onto Tomorrowland. DH & Ds 5 1/2 head to Buzlightyear and Ds 8 and I head to Space Mtn., expecting the lines to be huge by now. To our surprise, SMtn. says 20 minutes. Great! Even greater is we walk all the way through an EMPTY line and there is actually no wait!! We even stop for pictures.

100_1666.jpg

Then we all meet up and ride Buzzlightyear together, with no wait! Now we are off to try out the new Monster's Inc. Comedy Club. :sulley: Very cute. The kids absolutely love it! We knew we'd be back to do this one again. Now we make our way back to Mickey's ToontownFair. We ride the Barnstormer with very little wait. Then the kids play in the sprinklers at Donald's Boat for a few minutes. We are on a mission to meet Minnie on this trip so we head to the Judge's Tent. The line for Minnie says 15 minutes, so we get in it. After waiting over 30 minutes and barely moving, we decide to leave. We promise DS 5 1/2 we will see her later in the week. We hop the train and are headed to Frontierland!

more later. . .

Great Trip report so far! The Magic Kingdom pictures from Tuesday morning are beautiful! Your boys are really cute! Glad you got your trip early! :cool1: Thanks for writting! Very entertaining so far!!! popcorn:: popcorn::

Okay, so now it's on to Frontierland. We totally missed this whole section of MK on our first trip. . . Don't ask me how!! So these attractions are all new to us! Got off the train and went straight to Big Thunder Mtn. RR !! DS 5 1/2 is tall enough!! The wait time says 20 minutes so we all get in line. Actual wait time is more like 10 minutes! Very awesone ride!! DS 5 1/2 said he liked it but didn't like when you get sprayed with the water. . . So I knew Splash Mtn. was out! Then we were headed for Pirates of the Caribbean. We had heard so much about this ride and had missed it on our first trip so we were very excited to experience it! Wait time : 5 minutes!! I couldn't believe it. What a cool ride. The kids loved it too! Next up, Jungle Cruise. Wait time was 30 minutes, so we got a fastpass and kept moving. Went over to the Tiki Bird show. It was okay, not as good as I thought it would be, but it was a nice break. Then it was on to Aladdin. No wait! We all rode together, then DH took the boys on again and I took a picture.

100_1696-1.jpg

We were getting a little hungry now, but had such a big breakfast that we didn't really want lunch, so ice cream sounded good! Went to Main Street Ice Cream Parlor and the kids and I had the most delicious cookie swirl ice cream. DH had a root beer float. We found a table and sat and ate and watched the birds.

100_1687.jpg

By now it was time for our Jungle Cruise fastpass! Walked right onto that. It was very cute and funny. DS 8 loved it very much! Now it was nearing 2:30 so we headed back to Main Street to get a spot for the 3:00 Dreams Come True Parade. Got a spot right on the corner in front of Casey's Corner. Sat and waited for what seemed like forever! Cast Members were passing out stickers to the kids and blowing bubbles as we waited. That kept the kids somewhat entertained! About 3:20 the parade made it's way to our spot. Very nice parade with a lot of characters!

100_1715.jpg

After the parade we made our way slowly down Main Street stopping at a few shops as we headed for the exit. Left MK around 4:00 and went back to the resort. Rested a bit and had supper at the food court at POFQ. After awhile we decided to go back to DTD. DH & the kids just love that place! Did a little more shopping and sightseeing. Got 2 of the souvenier popcorn buckets. One has Disney characters on it and the other has a Pirates of the Caribbean theme. Very cute! Then went back to the resort and went to bed.

That was a long day! :cloud9:

I am so glad I found your report! I love to see families with two boys, as that is what we have, and there seems to be so much for girls at WDW. Now I see there will be plenty for our boys to do!

:welcome: Lonegirl !!

Yes, it seems that their is so much more for little girls at WDW, with all the princess meals and meet & greets. But we found lots for our boys to do too. Just wish they would have some more character meals geared towards families with boys. . . Maybe a Toy Story character meal or something. . . Maybe someday!! :wizard:

I hope your family has a wonderful trip! pixiedust:

What part of PA are you from??? My wife and I live about 25 miles east of Pittsburgh. We can't wait for our next trip because we both realized all the little things we missed, likes parades and shows. But we have a little one on the way in January:so that may have to wait for a few years. :sad1:

Day 4 - Wednesday MAY 16th - Magic Kingdom

Today was a sleep in day! :cloud9: We didn't have to worry about that darn alarm either!! After we woke we just hung out in the room and played nd watched a little TV. We headed out to the bus stop around 11:30 with no real destination in mind. The plan was to get to MK around 2:00-3:00. So the first bus to pull up was Epcot. We hopped on and thought about where we'd like to have lunch. We decided on the Sunshine Season Food Court in the Land Pavillion. It looked good when we saw it on Monday, and food courts are always a good choice for picky eaters! Made our way into Epcot and the place was just packed. Awful! Nothing like our pleasant day on Monday. We made our way through the crowds and to the Land. Sunshine Seasons was packed! We finally got our food and waited in line to pay and searched and searched for a table. Finally found one! The food there was okay, nothing really great. Glanced over at Soarin and the wait time was 50 minutes! We ate our lunch and got out of there!

From there we got on the monorail. A first for us! Very fun and relaxing.

100_1738.jpg

Took the monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Center. Transfered to the MK/Resorts monorail. Thought we'd check out some of the Deluxe Resorts incase we are ever fortunate enough to stay at one of them. First stop, Polynesian. I absolutely love this resort! Very beautiful! Lots of waterfalls and plants. The pool looked great too. Definitely my choice for a Deluxe!!

100_1742.jpg

100_1741.jpg

Next stop, the Grand Floridian. Very nice also. Although I don't think we would ever stay there.

100_1750.jpg

Next stop was the MK, but we weren't ready to get off, so we continued on. The next stop was the Contemporary. We had a dinner there in a few days so we didn't get off there. We continued on back to the TTC so we could take the Ferry Boat to the MK.

100_1759.jpg

100_1758.jpg

The Ferry Boat was very nice and a great way to enter MK!! :boat:
After all our travels we have finally made it back to the MK's gates!! :tinker:

We were in Cook Forest last week camping, so we should have stopped in LOL. I used to work in Cranberry so I am familiar with your area

Alright, now it's right about 3:00 and we are arriving at MK by Ferry Boat! We go in and see that everyone is lined up for the 3:00 parade. We had just saw that one the day before, so we got on the train and thought we'd go to Frontierland and ride a few things while everyone else was watching the parade. We weren't thinking about the parade starting in Frontierland!! We were stuck sitting on the train at Main Street Station for 15 minutes while the parade passed through Frontierland! And by the time we got to Frontierland there were people everywhere!! I am thinking is this just because the parade has just passed through here or are we in for long lines all night ??? Luckily it was because of the parade!! So the wait time for Big Thunder Mtn. RR was 40 minutes at this point. We got a fastpass and moved on! Went and saw the Country Bear Jamboree show. Very cute! Came outside and it was nearing 4:00 - time for Woody's Cowboy Camp!!

100_1764.jpg

Very fun and cute show!! I was even chosen to participate in it! I had to wear a huge, heavy hat while people danced around me!

After that was over we went for another ride on the Pirates of the Caribbean! As fun as the first time! When we came out we saw a Peter Pan and Wendy meet & greet. The Cast Member was just closing the line but let us jump in!

100_1772.jpg

By now it was time for our BTMRR fastpass. When we got there the stand-by wait was only 20 minutes! Guess the huge line before was because of the parade. Another great ride!

Now we were thinking about supper. After hearing all the hype about the wonderful hot dogs at Casey's Corner we decided to check it out. I'm thinking, how good can a hot dog really be??? They are great!! We got so much food there on the DDP. And the kids could order off the menu, no crappy kids menu there!! We loved our hot dogs and they loved their mini-corn dogs! The fries were great too. And the cheese sauce is the best! We walk out of there and the 5:30 Castle Stage Show is about to start, so we head over. Great show! We all loved it!

100_1776.jpg

Decided to head to Tomorrowland next. Rode Space Mtn., Buzzlightyear, and Tomorrowland Transit with NO WAIT!!

100_1783.jpg

Saw the Monsters Inc Comedy show again. The kids were put up on the screen and underneath it said - Thinks catsup is made from cats!! :lmao: Hilarious!!

Went to Toontown Fair and rode the Barnstormer! Then toured Mickey & Minnie's houses.
And Pluto's too! pluto:
100_1784.jpg

Next DH & the kids took a spin on the Tea Cups. I don't do well on spinny things, so I was happy watching! Then it was back to Dumbo. :dumbo: Remember the promise we made yesterday??? Yes, we had to make good on it! We waited nearly an hour to ride Dumbo! The longest wait we had all week!

By now it's starting to get dark and we are thinking we better get our spot for Wishes. Not without trying a famous Dole Whip first though! So we go clear back to Frontierland and get in line. Well worth it though. Very yummy!! So we eat them as we make our way down Main Street and then get a spot at the end of Main Street to watch Wishes so we can make a fast escape right after!

100_1794.jpg

100_1799.jpg

Wishes is an awesome show. Great fireworks and I just love the narration and music! pixiedust:

It's over, now it's time for our escape!! We make excellent time getting out of there and are one of the first ones in line at the POFQ bus stop! :woohoo: Just then a bus pulls up!! We load up and are on our way back to the resort by 9:22PM!

Just got caught up today! I love your pictures! It looks like you had so much fun! And, it sounds like you had great luck with no waiting in lines.

Can't wait to read more!

We really did have a lot of fun! And the short lines were unbelievable, especially considering that this was not even value season. I really think avoiding EMH's did the trick! :wizard:

Glad you are enjoying the pictures. It's hard to choose which ones to post, we took around 440 all together!! :teeth:

Up next. . . Disney MGM Studios! I just love this park!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!! :wizard:

As I was watching the fireworks last night I couldn't help but to have a little tune in my head. . . . . I wish I may, I wish I might. . . Well, for those of you who have been to WDW you know what I'm getting at!

Oh how I can't wait to go back!!!!! :goodvibes

Okay, more on my TR soon, I promise!

Day 5 - Thursday May 17th - Disney MGM Studios

Today was our second and last sleep in day! With having missed Fantasmic on our first trip, it was a definite must see on this trip! So we planned on a lazy morning at the resort so we could close MGM later! So we just hung out in the room awhile and hit the pool for awhile and then got ready to head out. First we stopped at the POFQ food court for lunch. They have pretty decent food I guess. Thought the food court at CBR was much better though. Just bigger and more choices I guess. So anyway, had a nice lunch and headed for the bus stop. As the MGM bus pulls up a woman comes up to me and asks if we are going to MGM and I said yes. She gave me 5 fastpasses good for anything (anything that takes fastpasses)!! Said she was done there and didn't need them anymore. I've never seen fastpasses like these before. They were good for anything and had no time on them, just said good until June 30, 2007. I couldn't believe what just happened!! What a true magical moment. pixiedust: So we thanked her over and over and boarded the bus. Arrived at MGM around 1:00. Made our way in and took a look around and remembered why I love  this park so much. This place is so awesome!!

100_1805.jpg

100_1809.jpg

100_1808.jpg

Hadn't done the Star Tours ride before, and with the kid's new found love for all things Star Wars, we went there first. :darth: Wait time 15 minutes!!! A sign of another wonderful short wait time day!!! So we held onto those free fastpasses incase we would happen to need them later. Star Tours was pretty fun. Of course the kids loved it! Now the plan was to get to Rock n Roller Coaster w/Aerosmith! But we happened to be walking by the Indiana Jones Stunt Show when it said 10 minutes until show time. Okay, let's give it a try! The kids were a little whiney because they didn't want to sit there and wait and it was hot in there, but then the show started. They loved it! They still talk about it today!!

Okay, now I am ready to get to RNRCoaster!!! Get out of my way!!:drive: I rode this one all by myself on the last trip because DS's weren't tall enough and DH isn't much of a coaster type of guy! We knew that DS 8 was just 48 inches in his new shoes and were praying he would get on this time! Got there and wait time said 40 minutes. Was expecting that! Actually thought it might be worse. But not to fear, we had free fastpasses!! :woohoo: Walked up to the fastpass line and there was no CM there. So I measured DS 8 myself and he was tall enough!! :yay: I am SO excited!! So DH takes DS 5 1/2 to the gift shop that you exit into after RNRC and DS 8 and I run through the empty line! No one ever did check his height. We watch the preshow and I am getting more and more excited!! I was a teenager in the late 80's & early 90's, so of course I love Aerosmith! And I love coasters! DS 8 is getting a little nervous. I tell him he will be fine. And he was! He loved it as much as I did! Great ride, very fast!
We meet up with the rest of the family in the gift shop and tell them all about it.

100_1813.jpg

100_1815.jpg

Now it was about 2:30 and we thought we better get a spot for the Stars & Cars Motor Parade. Another thing we missed on the first trip! We got a great spot across from Sounds Dangerous and waited. What a great parade. So many characters!!

100_1822.jpg

100_1825.jpg

100_1827.jpg

100_1830.jpg

At 4:00 Lightening McQueen and Mater are to come out for pictures, but we are confused as to where they will be. So we walk around a bit and then decided to ask a CM. A very nice young man not only told us where they would be, but actually took us there himself! By the time we got there the line was huge. And they hadn't even come out yet! I knew there was no way the kids were going to wait in that line. Then they came out and we had a great view of them just by standing off to the side! The kids said that was good enough for them, so I took a few pictures and we were off!

100_1835.jpg

100_1834.jpg

100_1833.jpg

Next we did Muppet Vision 3-D! Then we went to the MGM Backlot Tour. Very, very neat. Learned all about special effects in the movies. We all enjoyed it very much. After that it was about 4:50 and we had an ADR at 5:00 at Hollywood & Vine. So we were headed across the park to get there!

GREAT trip report.... I'm enjoying reading on..... will definetly keep reading as you post more. Great Pictures.

Our Next Trip May 09.. CBR
