We get up early (5:30) get into our car and set out to Orlando. We have to use a different route since our usual has smoke all along the way. We stop in Lake City, Fl to eat breakfast and we are on the road again. Next stop WDW! We made great time until we got close to Disney then the traffic slowed to a stop. I hate city traffic! We find the exit and off we go to the Swan.
The Swan is a beautiful resort and is our first deluxe. CarolAnnK and I had made plans to eat lunch together so we give her a quick call from the car. This is the first time weve actually spoken! I am beside myself!! Our room was not ready so we walk over to the Boardwalk to meet Carol and her girls. We decide to eat at ESPN. While we are waiting to eat we spy Webmaster CC and her kids walking along the boardwalk. Carol and I run out to meet her. She is just the nicest person! Our girls call us back in to eat and the phone rings its Mackey Mouse (Maaasha) saying she has arrived. We all go back over to the Swan to see if our room is ready and find Marsha and her hubby along with other moderators from the Dis. Finally I meet the one and only Dan Murphy! He is every bit as sweet and TALL as I expected. J We get our room keys and off we go to check out our room. We open our door and all gasp when we see it. We could look out our windows and see Epcot and in the distance we could just barely make out Cinderellas castle.
Everybody got ready and off we all went to Epcot to ride Test Track etc. Marsha and I notice our legs look funny .. We all go our separate ways for a while and plan to meet up again later.
After supper we went to the boardwalk to check things out. There we met MiloAz and his nice family. Carol, Maaaasha, Stephen, and I decided to go to Atlantic Dance for a while and find out that they are closing for renovations the next night. I guess I should explain the Maaasha spelling. A few hours with these ladies and I picked up their accents. I know I know.. they dont have accents LOL After some fun we turn in because the next day will be busy.
Day 2
We have a busy day in the parks. My legs are looking stranger hummm wonder whats going on. As the day progressed the bottom of my legs turned a bright red. Not like a sunburn, more like a reaction to something. They didnt hurt but looked awful! During the day my dh and I decided to take a walk over to check out the Dolphin. As we walk in we take a look around and I see this yellow figure with a grass skirt on. YIKES!! Its SSB! Off we go to say hi. Dan and RhondaS were over there talking to him. I have to add him to the nice guys list too. Such a great guy who makes a great lemonade! We go back to the room to get ready for our first official Dis Meet of the weekend. We meet up with Dan, RhondaS and family and decide to go eat. We wound up eating at Big River Grille and Brewing Works. The food was very good! It was fun getting to know Rhonda and her family. This time Jaypd and wife Stacey walk by. Of course we had to meet them too. Cleo had planned a meet on the boardwalk so off we went. Soon the boardwalk was crawling with Dis moderators. People started to stare! LOL Cleo was so nice and Im glad I got the chance to meet her. We all are ready for E Night ( my first ever) so we go to the bus stop. This was the first and only time we had transportation troubles. Jaypd finally called transportation and they FINALLY sent a bus to get us. That poor bus driver!! I honestly dont remember laughing so much! She had to turn the lights on because Jay and Dan were taking flash pictures LOL E night was fabulous! Nothing like riding all the rides with 12 or more friends! Follow the hat was the phrase of the night! Dan had told us so much about the Kiss Goodnight that we decided to stay with him. There were 5 of us left in the park that night. Never did see that kiss.
