May 19 - 24, 2014 San Diego to Vancouver

Exciting!! I've been waiting for today so now we're less than a year out. Woo hoo!

If we're unsure if we're participating in the FE (I graduate the Thursday before we sail, so I'm thinking my brain might be mush then), am I better off holding a spot then cancelling?

Hi
We won't close the FE until April. Do you want to wait and see how you feel then?

Hi
I'll update weekly if there are any additions or other changes.

I'm really excited and wish it were here NOW :)

10 Families: 20 adults, 7 kids under 13, 4 kids over 13

I'm going to wait to officially join too. If it gets to be a lot of people, will you break it into more groups?

T minus one year till we sail away. Is that exciting or depressing?

I'm excited. I'll be even more excited in 3 weeks when I can book my studio for my pre-cruise stay at the Grand Californian! :cool1:
I'm hoping for a quick weekend trip in December, but if that doesn't happen the weekend prior to this cruise will be my first visit to DLR in 2 years! :scared1:

Just checking in with everyone. Looks like things have ben pretty quiet around here, guess everyone is getting ready for a busy summer.

We are just back from 9 days at WDW and was it ever hot, hot hot. Sure made this Alaska cruise next May sound even more like the right thing to do.

While we were there, we did tour the new VGF models and ultimately made a purchase. I am so excited that we will be staying there this coming November.

Congratulations on your purchase! We own at VGC and although I've been tempted by VGF (like the fixed week option), I think I'm going to hold out to buy more VGC (hopefully resale).

We did the DCL Alaska cruise last summer (August) and absolutely loved it. If choosing between FL and AK in summer, I'd definitely choose AK :)

Ohmygoodness! Congratulations! The pictures of the models are gorgeous, and while people are complaining about the high point cost, it doesn't seem that crazy to me since I'm accustomed to VGC prices and bought my VGC points intending to use them there even though they don't go very far ...

Personally I'm hoping this will decrease the value of BLT points, so that when I'm financially able to pick up another contract (in 3 to 4 years perhaps), the price will be lower then. BLT's style is just much more in tune with mine.

I personally will take cool weather over hot every time! My friends are flip-flopping between committing to this cruise and booking a Galveston cruise since her husband wants to go to the beach, so I keep trying to point out to them that flying is expensive and now I can argue the heat angle as well. :thumbsup2 WDW in the summer is something I'm not ready to brave yet ... though eventually I would like to attend some Star Wars weekends.

Enjoy your new VGF points!

I know they plans have been out for a few months now, but has everyone seen the upgrades planned for the Magic? I'm super jealous that the Wonder isn't drydocking before our cruise to get similar upgrades, but I don't want to push cruising back to after next fall to ride the slide. I've really enjoyed sailing the Wonder 2x without the upgrades, so I'm sure this cruise will be just as exciting.

I was a bit surprised they didn't work in a concierge lounge. It would have made concierge a lot more appealing on the Magic than it is now. I won't miss the slide, too chicken for that, and I don't think there is anything else that might have enhanced the AK sailing for us, unless I missed something. It would have been nice to have a brand spanking clean ship to sail on though.

'well, the West Coast repo cruise is over and I am anxiously awaiting trip reports, but I haven't seen any yet. I know, patience, patience. If anyone comes across reports posted, please put up a link so we can all check it out.

Have a good week everybody. Raining here this morning.

I had not seen that, thanks for the heads up. I have eaten at the restaurnat mentioned, Scoma's. It was so very good many years ago, and I am glad it is still there. Might make for a wonderful early dinner next May.

When is the best time to make reservations for Palo? Plus which night is better? :):goodvibes

I don't think we will know that until we get more information on what nights are formal and semi formal, etc. Our sailing will be a bit different being a 5-nighter repositioning. I wonder if it will be similar to the one that just happened, but they left out of Long Beach and had 2-nights in San Francisco.
