Is anyone tacking on the fist Med cruise after this EBTA? DH is reluctant to go to Europe and not go anyplace else. Also, if you have done that, how does it feel to have the lazy part of the trip first? Do you feel raring to get off the ship and do something?

We are not tacking on the first Med cruise but we are taking another cruise a few days later. Me and the girls will be flying from Barcelona to Copenhagen where we will meet up with DH and DD(17). We will be taking a 9 night Baltics cruise leaving June 3.

I still have a lot of planning to do for 2013, only the cruises have been booked at this point. We are doing a 12 night Eastern Med and Greek Island cruise on Celebrity this summer, so I've been focused on that trip.

I booked a 7-night NCL Epic cruise from Barcelona on June 2. However, if I move this cruise to something else, the Epic cruise will get cancelled.

I would never cruise TO Europe - only to get off the ship and fly home immediately. Nor would I arrive in Barcelona the day the westbound TA cruise begins. Europe is too wonderful to not spend extra time there.

Andrea is really excited. :thumbsup2 If you want to book with Dreams, just go ahead and book with them. That is just what I would do.

I am planning on taking a eastern med and greek isles with princess after the TA. I am not sure of the schedule yet.

Good Morning - A number of us are scheduled to be on the first Med cruise. Also, a number of us are waiting to see about the WBTA announcement.

OK...we now are leaning toward this cruise. June 1st is our 45th wedding anniversary, how had I forgotten about that?:lovestruc DH wants to see more of Europe, it just seems right. We're in the process of getting some quotes on the two back to back cruises.

kaseyC, Tom and I were on a Baltic Cruise out of Copenhagen about 3 years ago, it was wonderful! We were on Princess, because they were the only ones who stopped at Gdynia, and Poland is the land of our heritage. The whole experience was wonderful!

Tammy- Ha! I was super excited! Thanks for reading my post. I'm sure most people looked at it and thought, "Wow, that's really long and looks like it was written by a lunatic." And then just skipped to the next post. :)

If there's no reason to book with Disney first, then I'll just book with Dreams Unlimited. I think Disney has a $25 OBC though. Can I book with them to get the $25, transfer it to Dreams Unlimited to get the $150, plus get the $50 for paying with my Disney Visa?

Once it's official, I'll come back and add my name to roll call. :)

If a DU agent books your cruise online, you will also get the $25 DCL OBC. That's in addition to the Disney Visa $50 OBC plus whatever DU is offering. If you book first with DCL and then transfer it to DU, you might get a reduced amount of OBC from DU.

Ok, I'll email them first then. Thanks!

If you include this info with the agent, they will book it online for you and you will get the same credits plus the Dreams OBC. At least that is what I think will happen. LOL. (Nancy beat me to it.!)

Hi! Was looking at the "Meets" and saw this thread. I'm not booked on this cruise, but we did the EBTA in 2010 and the WBTA in 2011, so I wanted to put it out there that if you have any questions I am happy to answer them.

I saw the roll call & Mandygirl is on this cruise, I believe she (and possibly others) has done the EBTA before, but just in case, I wanted to offer to answer any questions.

I also have all of the Navigators from the EBTA - there are a lot! - so if there is an interest in those, I could post them as well. Just PM me and let me know.

You are going to love the EBTA! It is a wonderful experience.
I hope you enjoy your cruise :goodvibes

Hi everyone we are booked to go on this fantastic cruise as well. We are Curt and Mel from Saskatchewan canada. Our biggest problem right now is finding reasonable airfare. What have some of you cruisers done? Any advice would be great! Look forward to seeing everyone on board!
We are hoping to do this cruise and the first Med and the airfare we got, through Disney, is $1174 out of Portland, Oregon. It'll fly us to Galveston and then home from Barcelona after the first Med cruise. It includes our transfers and any hotels if needed. I'm concerned about the gas prices rising and airfare just getting higher, so this seemed like the way to go. And I've heard that Disney Air is good for connections and such when flying internationally. We'll be traveling with our 8 year old daughters, so we don't want to fly for 24 hours with five connections, yanno?

Is this the price for this year? I called and could not get a quote yet. Were you happy with what Disney was able.to put together for you?
Has anyone done added a stay longer after the cruise with Disney? What was offered by Disney for those?
We originally booked the transatlantic with air about six weeks ago (but I haven't posted on this thread before now, I don't think). Then we reshopped this cruise last week while on the Wonder. I was told by Guy, the future cruises person on the Wonder, that Disney Air was waitlisted for this and the Med. But when I looked at it today, I was just checking it on the Disney website, it let me add air :confused3. So I called my fabulous TA and he talked to Disney. They first told him that air was waitlisted and he said that I'd seen it still available online, so they checked further. They then came back and said it WAS still available! Anyway, my TA was then able to add the air to my new reservation that I'd booked onboard so that I got the onboard booking deal, phew.

So I called Disney last night and spoke with someone who told me that the air prices are not out yet for our cruise, go figure. I know when I did the Alaska cruise there were many times that some people on the boards would get one answer and then I would get another. I will try again next week, the price looks like it would be a good deal not having to worry about anything. :confused3:confused3
Call again and talk to someone else :rolleyes1

We are hoping to do the EBTA just the four of us (DH, me and our girls) and then some of my family is planning on meeting up with us in Barcelona for the first Med cruise!

I would love to see your navigators!

Hello everyone! My husband is currently trying to get three weeks off so that we can take this cruise and then the first Med. But if he can only get two weeks off we'll do the WBPC (we have all three booked and will be canceling either the WBPC or the EBTA/Med). We just got off the Wonder on Sunday. It was our second ever cruise, the first being last year doing the Wonder as well. Last week's cruise was our best family vacation ever!

If we do this cruise it will be me, my DH and our twin girls. They will be weeks away from turing nine when we get on in Galveston.

Hey Liz!! :yay: Sure you can't join? ;)

Yes, it is looking more and more like we will be EBTA in 2013 versus WBTA due to school dates. Our kindergartener will miss the last 8.5 days of school, which keeps her well within the 90% attendance law... and if they want me to withdraw her versus absences, no problem. Pretty easy to do in Texas - withdraw her to homeschool her, then re-enroll after we get back. (Gotta use my principal certification for *something* other than just tutoring!) Of course, it all boils down to if Curt gets this timeslot when he does schedule and vacation bidding in August for 2013. He'll bid as Round One, so surely those ahead of him in seniority aren't bidding these dates but instead going for the big holidays. :santa: If that goes well, we will most likely tack on another cruise, but not on DCL due to $$$.

Is it bad that our Navigators are still in a box, and I have yet to put the scrapbook together? I am thinking of cutting them up and placing into the autograph book Jill had made for Sarah. All I know is we cruised with a 5 year old and 15 month old... and I don't think we ever got a nap during nap time because there was SO MUCH ALWAYS GOING ON! :rotfl2: Heck, what am I saying, their baby books aren't even done yet - WBTA 2011 might get done first! LOL.

I've thrown the EBTA idea out to some buddies of our's who love Disney, love cruising (especially the TAs), but have never cruised DCL. They've done some cruising with us before we had our kiddos, and we are hoping they join this one. Only 3 ports of call is really appealing to them! And of course we are trying to talk the grandparents into it as well, but my dad hates flying. :confused3

autograph book Jill had made for Sarah.

We also have an autograph book made by Jill...is it the same Jill??? She does an amazing job and Hannah LOVED it!!!! I actually just told DH the other day that I'm going to get in touch with her to see if I can have her make another for this cruise. Hannah was lucky enough to have Jill as her Secret Mickey last year. She said she was the luckiest kid on the cruise!

Looking for some different viewpoints. We have this and the first med cruise booked. I would love 21 nights in a row cruising, but I am thinking of doing something different instead of the med cruise. I have been to Europe when I was a teen, but my wife never has been and who knows, we may never get back. The med ports look great, but is one day in Rome worth it? It wasn't built in a day:rotfl2: For the cost of the med cruise we could take the train to Paris, then London and fly home from there. I realize it's all personal preference, but looking for thoughts from those of you more traveled than myself. It will be my wife,DS5, and myself.

Hello again!

Tom and I are officially booked on the EBTA as well as the first Med cruise! We just didn't want to wait any longer to celebrate DH's retirement as well as our anniversary.

Goofy39.3, DH and I have been very happy doing cruises in Europe, and we also did a 7 night Collette tour in Greece before the Greek Isle cruise that was part of the itinerary. We would have loved to spend more time than just the overnight (2 days) in St. Petersburg on the Baltic cruise. There are just so many places that we want to SEE, if we have more time in the future, we at least have an idea of where to return to. We spent nearly 2 weeks on a Princess cruise of the British Isles, there are places there we would love to get back to as well. DH and I prefer to travel in organized tours, we have friends who have been to Spain on their own 3 times, each time for over 2 weeks! Obviously they love Spain!

With your 5 year old, I would tend to go with cruises, JMO!

Bobbi:goodvibes

PS. It is so great to see that I have 4 DCL cruises pending as I checked the CC site!

My two daughters and I were on the June 2010 Crown Princess cruise to the British Isles. Was that the cruise you took, by any chance?

No, not then. We were on the Love Boat, the Pacific Princess in 1998!

Ah - a few years before ours! ;) I think the current Pacific Princess is a different ship, and we almost sailed on her to Alaska in 2007.
