When we cruised in Nov 08, the waters were a bit rough and we felt a bit light headed. We asked our doctor about it and she prescribed Transderm-SC aka the Patch. According to the directions you put the patch behind your ear and it is suppose to help out. We usually do not get motion sickness but we will have it just in case.

We have been working out and loosing weight too. DW goes to the gym Mon-Fri for over an hour each day and I usually run a few miles each day. Got to get ready for that summer boddy and my speedo...lol...j/k. You do not want to see a hairy italian guy in a speedo

Well we are off to do some more cruise attire shopping. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

We are so excited, just booked free dining - have never been on the dining plan and we are going for a long weekend Fri-Tues in late September so we can catch the Halloween party. Woohoo!

Bought DD some clothes for the cruise, nice to see all the spring clothes out now. Very cold today though. I still need to lose at least 5 lbs so I don't want to buy anything for myself until I reduce a little....<sigh> it's just not that easy.

Welcome Macdonald Family!!!

Here's my recs on motion sickness: Whatever "pill" you take should be taken beginning the night before the cruise (maybe even 2 nights before). Adam and I will take a dose of Dramamine on Friday night as we go to bed. We will then take the "Less Drowsy Dramamine" on the morning we sail. The first night on the ship, we'll take another full dose of Dramamine before going to bed. Then, it's only as needed!

This method works for everyone in our family, even when we fish offshore in high seas. If you still feel queasy (which for me is only when I'm at the front of the ship), a ginger chew does the trick!

The critical part of this is starting the meds BEFORE the cruise!

Important Info that you may not realize...
Dramamine is 50 mg of dimenhydrinate per pill.
Less Drowsy Dramamine is 25 mg of Meclizine Hydrochloride.
Bonine is also 25 mg of Meclizine Hydrochloride.
(So, just know that Bonine is the same as Less Drowsy Dramamine and buy whichever is cheaper in the store!)

Welcome to all the new comers! May 16th will be here before we know it. I just ordered my rewards card to "pay" for all the shopping, excursions, pictures, Palo fee, etc. I have over $800! I use my Visa card for work and that helped a lot.

Any Baseball fans?? We like to go to the Rome Braves. Its Atlanta Braves farm team. We go down to Atlanta for a game or two a season.

For motion sickness--I think I'm going to bring along the MotionEaze that I mentioned last week (topical oil that is applied behind the ears), but the health center on deck 1 has a bucket full of FREE motion sickness meds right outside the door. I had read in PassPorter last time that it was generic Dramamine (dimenhydrinate--safe for kids), but it ended up being generic Bonine (meclizine). I didn't realize it was meclizine until after I gave it to the boys (wasn't the right dose for children!). So if anyone goes there to get some, make sure you give the right dose to your kids!

Maybe someone on the main board that has cruised recently can tell us which med they have so if it's the one that works for you, then you don't have to bring your own. It's free!! (Or more like "included" in the price of the cruise!)

Austin77's Dad here again. You can get motion (sea) sickness medicine for free from the Guest Services Desk as well.

To be honest, In a lot of sports, the farm team is a better show then the "Real Team" because Players are playing for a Major leauge contract. So they fight for it!!
