Does anyone have any pics of formal night from a previous cruise?

We dressed up twice--formal night & again on semi-formal night, which was our Palo/anniversary night. Justin wore the same suit with a different shirt & tie. I think I've posted some of these before, but I'll do it again anyway. I don't have a decent picture showing a full-length photo of my red dress, though. The only full-length one I do have is totally dorky because I'm a little tipsy after the tequila & beer tastings, so I'd rather not post that one! I'll probably bring the same dresses and wear them both again. (BTW, I think I've "spruced up" a little since I've gotten into MK, so I'm not such a Plain Jane anymore!)

First off, I lived about 2 miles from the JW Mariott! (We lived just off W. Sahara, across the street from Red Rock Resort.) I do NOT recommend the buffet at the JW! It's fairly pricey and not very good at all! The roulette table in their little casino is really nice, and it's where I learned to play the game with friends. Warm memories...

Have a great and safe time! Don't go anywhere alone at night though (sorry, but it can be a little dangerous)!

WOW -- this is FANTASTIC! Thank you so much lucyddr! I think I will try to convince m friend to stop at Capriottis on the way to the hotel (we will need lunch at that point). I am getting more excited. Nothing compared to my excitement with the cruise but it will still be nice to get away with the girlfriends.

How "dressy" are you ladies planning on getting for formal night? I found some really pretty dresses over the weekend but I can't seem to decide if I want to do a full length dress or not. My DH will probably wear a suit and tie but not a tuxedo. Does anyone have any pics of formal night from a previous cruise?

I want to get dressed up BUT it all depends on me and if I find a dress and that probably depends on if i can lose some more weight before the cruise. I've lost 15 so far but have a million more (ok, really @25) to go. I am debating getting DH and DS tuxes but not sure I want to spend the $$$$. We only cruised once before and I was early in my pregnancy with DS. I don't remember a thing about that cruise except feeling sick and tired the whole time -- YUCK!

Ok, so bummer on the Dolphinaris. The kids have to be 5 or over. DS is 4 --> sigh <-- back to square one in Cozumel.

I am ok waiting on the FE count too! I have no idea on what to get BUT probably won't work on it until March with Vegas and work trips.

Hi Lillygator, just the little portfolio that has booklets on excursions, tips, insurance, tux rental, etc. Did you get that yet? There is also a letter with it that tells you when you can book everything.

we have that, wonder why you are just getting it now? It is nice to get DCL stuff though! We'll be dressing up simply because we never get to!!!

I am really getting pumped for this cruise!! Hard to believe a year ago we were getting ready for the REPO! We hadn't planned on traveling this year, especially a DCL trip - till we found this deal!

On our first cruise, we went all out. (I'll try to dig up and scan some photos.) I think we will keep it a little simpler this time, just because 2 formal dresses, 2 dressy shoes each, and 2 mens' suits take up a lot of suitcase room! If we do dress, Adam will bring one suit with 2 shirts/ties/etc. and I'll bring 1 long and 1 short dress (and restrict myself to one pair of formal shoes...).

Shasses: Everyone should go to Vegas at least once! We enjoyed being a young married couple living there for a year, but we are also really happy not NOT be living there forever! I'm maintaining my NV medical license so that I can go do some part-time stuff there if I ever desire to...

I think we only have 99 more days to go!!!!!! or at least that's what the count down on my computer says but it might be counting the fact that DH and I are leaving on the 15th. Well anyway...it's getting close!!!!!!!!!!!

I found this on another thread and thought I would share:

I know this is a different rotation than they had in 2007, so I thought I'd share with anyone else who is used to the "old" way. Now I'm trying to figure out the new menu rotations...

I know this is a different rotation than they had in 2007, so I thought I'd share with anyone else who is used to the "old" way. Now I'm trying to figure out the new menu rotations...

Since we are more or less committed to the late dinner, I'm thinking I'd prefer the 8:00 or the 8:30 in terms of the rotation schedule. (I'm not too fond of eating at 8:30, but we can deal with it.) If we end up on the 8:15 schedule, we'd probably do Palo on formal night as I can't imagine wearing formal clothing in Parrot Cay... Plus, I'd like to have one formal meal in Lumieres, just for the atmosphere. I guess we can't really plan formally until we get our cards on the ship...then it's action mode!

For now, I'm thinking of booking Palo on Sunday or Tuesday night and brunch at whatever time is available. Adam likes the snails and lobster , so I have to work around those things... He deserves just a little bit of consideration in the trip...but jsut a little!
