May 16, 2004 / 4 Day Wonder

I havent even pulled my luggage out of the closet yet. All my new clothes are still in the bags from the store. Oh well, my last trip i packed the night before I left. I guess I am a procrastinator.

Glenn- my wife enjoys doing the same thing. She talks about packing for weeks then waits till the last day or two before finally moving forward with packing her stuff.

A small miracle occurred late last night, I finally printed the iron-on transfers!! They look very nice... now I just have to get them on the pillowcases!
:bounce: :bounce:

Scottie: Veranda Man emailed me a great photo for the pillow cases over a month ago. I haven't tried to print them onto transfer paper. To be honest, I don't know exactly how to do it. I was going to take it to Kinkos or Staples and see if they can do it for me. There isn't much time left though. My boys may have to pass on them.

Anna- I received my main picture from him too…it is a pic of characters on CC with the ship in the background. The process to do this is pretty easy.

-Buy the transfers at any local store
-Create your design in Word or some other program
-Load the paper into your printer just like normal paper (set your settings to know there is transfer paper and to print a mirror image)
-Print the image onto the transfer paper in an inkjet printer
-Follow the ironing instructions to heat the image onto the fabric

I called a local Kinko’s and they said $4.00 per piece of transfer paper that they “iron on” to fabric for you. I may end up having them transfer the image for me at that price.

I am counting myself lucky! I bought a new 256mb memory card for our digital camera recently. I was not going to use it until we cruised. Well tonight, I decided to give a try and boy am I happy. The card is corrupt and does not work properly. I would have freaked out if I took 100+ pics on the cruise only to find out none could be downloaded!! I promptly called OfficeMax and the manager told me to stop in tomorrow to exchange it out. I am doing a happy dance right now that I found this error ahead of time.

:jumping1:

Scottie a cood catch on the card. That woudl have been a real bummer.

Surprised at the, cost Knko's quoted you, would be worth it for sure.

We checked our SCUBA regulator adn found they were in need of alittle work. Sent them to a shop in ATL and will pick them up as we pass through while visiting my sister.

Work is nuts and I am on the road, glad I got stuff done last weekend.

I guess I don't have to feel quite so lazy about not putting my luggage away after the April trip. I'll just consider myself that much closer to being ready to go!

Thats good that you found the card problem before you left. I have been using my camera alot lately. Practicing with all the manual settings, so I can capture that PERFECT sunset picture. Or sunrise, or kids faces when they see the Wonder for their first time...You know. :bitelip:

Scottie that is the same picture I have. I copied it onto a floppy disc with all of his directions on how to do it. I was going to take the disc to Kinkos and have them do it. Did you see the pillow he made for Nate with the writing and all? That is awesome. He said that he used his Disney Fonts for the writing. I am not quite that creative to figure that out.

Anna- yep I did see that pillowcase, it was great! I put some pretty cool text at the top of the picture for the cases, it is in pretty purple colors and a wavy design. It says:

MEGHAN'S (or depending on the case) MORGAN'S
DISNEY CRUISE/WDW 04'
ONE GREAT TRIP!!

Glenn you are such a gurdy!!!!

Scottie: How did you get the text on the pillowcase?

We FINALLY got our docs yesterday! I was starting to worry. I can't believe what a rush a got when I saw the package on my porch. I suddenly got that fluttery, "I can't wait to go" feeling!

I had been feeling a little blah about the trip because my April trip didn't exactly go as I had planned. But now that my docs are here I am just sooo excited!

I was afraid I had made a big mistake by taking these trips so close together, but all is good now!

Looking at everyone's timers I can see that many of you are so close to your trips you can "taste it."

Please don't worry if you're running out of time to finish all the little details you planned on having done for the trip. This is going to be a fantastic trip even without any extra touches you wanted to include for you and your families.

I always get so worked up before a trip trying to make sure everything is "perfect." I'm going to try to be a little more laid back for this one. As long as I remember the clothes, documents, passports, and the Dad, I'll be happy this time!

Amy:

You won't be too relaxed, remember you are going on the banana boat ride with me!!

I think I will bring ear protection for that ride. Or just sit upwind from the sound of you screaming. :scared:
