So yesterday my dd and I were laying down for a nap. I thought she was almost asleep when all of the sudden she sits up and says -Mama guess what? I say What. She says WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!! Arms in the air fists pumping! She just turned 2 last month! She cracks me up - I love her so!
Cute story Elly..... my DS16 is now gettign excited for our trip...my DH not so much..all he see's is the $$$$ signs go by...

I know what you mean.... i can't even concentrate too well at work....i can't imagine how it will be when it's only a couple of days left....

The best thing about going on vacation is....

Exploring something new, trying different things and meeting new people.

What do you like best about going on vacation?

I like getting away from the WORK.... no but seriously i like just getting away from the norm. being able to just relax....

The best part? Quality family time. I love it when it's just the three of us  I can't wait until our family grows and it can be just the 4 or 5 of us :cloud9:

Second favorite - indulgence. We have a vacation policy that if you want it - you got it. Sleep in - sure! Ice Cream twice a day - coming right up! To many souvies to fit in the luggage - we will ship them home!

I can't wait!!

Has anyone ever seen the acrobat show in China at Epcot???
Just curious if it was worth scheduling into our day. . . I was thinking that the boys might like it. . .

Family time and forgetting about all of our obligations!! No work for DH (he normally works 60+ hours a week), not school, no soccer, no housework, no yard work, no cooking !!!!!
Oh and another great thing about this vacation is that pretty much everything is already paid for! And we have our Disney Rewards card to buy souveniers!! :woohoo:

My favorite thing about vacation is, as parents we get to be FUN the entire time. No homework, no school, no work, no phones, no computers, and NO Drs. appoimtents for DS. We are fun and fancy free!:wizard:

We can stay up late and the kids want to play in the pool after dark. (sorry if your trying to sleep and you hear 2 kids saying "this is totally wicked!!!"")

I actually had it posted on the welcome board but haven't gotten too many replies. So I thought it might be better here with the rest of the MAYERS. Thanks in advance for your help. Roxanne :thumbsup2

Hi,
My Name is Roxanne and I am new to the Disboards. I actually joined a couple of weeks ago but have been to shy to post until now. Me and my family are taking our first trip to WDW in May and are completely thrilled. We are staying at the Pop Century from the 12th -19th. Our 12th Anniversary is on the 11th of May so we are celebrating that along with a couple of birthdays. My Dh birthday is on May 19th and I really want to surprise him with a birthday cake or something special. Can anyone suggest a good "Birthday" restaurant that I can order a cake from? I have looked on the "Birthday/Anniversary thread, but still am confused about what is good and what I need to avoid. Also my Dd Birthday is two weeks after we leave WDW so I am thinking that maybe we could celebrate a little early and have a birthday cake for her as well? She is going to be turning 7...any ideas on a fun place to take her to celebrate? We also have a 4 year old Ds who is Autistic so I hoping not to overwhelm him. Thanks for all your help.

Hi Roxanne!!

Where are your adr's? You can usually order a cake or let them know when you make the reservation that you are celebrating a bday.

:welcome: Roxanne :welcome:

You're first Disney trip! How exciting!! I'm only on my second trip, so I'm still learning too. Welcome to our chat, you'll love it here. I just joined the DISboards in March and I am nearing 600 posts, most of them on this MAYers thread!
The thread is kind of quiet this afternoon, but most of the regulars will be back this evening or in the morning. Ask us anything. If you have time, go back and read through this thread for some great tips.
My DH and I are celebrating our 9th anniversary on our trip. We are going to the Coral Reef at Epcot for dinner (with the kids!) and I am having a Diver Sign saying happy anniversary for DH. We are going to the Garden Grill for our DS's 8th birthday (he turned 8 a couple of weeks ago). On our first trip to WDW in 2005 it was our youngest DS's 4th birthday and we went to the Crystal Palace and after our meal they gave him a cupcake with a candle in it, plus they sang to him and sprinkled the table with Mickey confetti! Make sure to get a birthday button on the day you are celebrating the birthdays. All the cast members throughout the parks will make a big fuss over the birthday child!
If you want to you can post your ADR's and which parks you will be in on which days and so on and when Michelle gets back on here she will add you to our list. We are all trying to meet as many MAYers as we can on our vacations! A LOT of MAYers are staying at POP! It's POFQ for us though!

Well since we planned our trip so late (just 4 weeks ago) he didn't have a lot of options. These are the 4 we have right now

May 13th-Liberty Tree for Dinner

May 14th-Chef Mickey for breakfast

May16th- 1900 Park Fare for dinner

May 19th- Hollywood and Vine for breakfast
