Hello Everyone...crazy couple of days here.

About 1:30 am I smelled smoke and went out to my sun deck and saw the glow of fire in the Santa Monica mountains north of my home. It was about 5 miles away, near the Getty Center art museum. The burned all the way down to the 405 freeway. The freeway was closed both ways until 7am. What a huge mess.

Fortunately, the fire was contained pretty fast, by 9am.

A lot of ash is in the air now and it smells really bad out here. It is hot today and the Santa Ana's are blowing...not a good sign.

Oh Sea, another fire?!? Sheesh, we've had an awful fire season in CA this year Glad to hear they got it under control fairly quickly. Was the museum damaged?

Well, I am off to watch my son play football. He has an 8th grade game at 5:30 - which he will play in and then the Jr. High game at 7:00, which he might go in for a couple of plays.

Hey all...... Busy day here... I went out to the mall in the AM. I didn't get anything but I like to walk around. Then I came home and finished up Laundry.... nothing exciting...

Right now I believe Jo should be in CBR.... I wish I were there... It will be OK....

Well we are going out to a friends house tonight... They invited us to dinner so that was great for me I don't have to cook.... well talk to you later guys.... Have a great evening...

Happy Friday MAYers! No huge plans for this weekend, working tonight and tomorrow until 3, then headed to my friend Jaime's wedding.
Sunday, I am hoping that all of the work that needs done will be finished tomorrow - so I can watch my STEELERS crush the Giants

Nothing too exciting going on here. Although I do have a pretty busy weekend I guess. . . Today I have DS's Halloween party at school at noon. Tonight we are going to carve our pumpkins. Tomorrow afternoon is our trick or treat. Sunday is Church and the kids last soccer game of the season. Tuesday is our town's parade and downtown merchant's trick or treat. Fun Fun, lots to do. And all in the rain. I seriously can't remember the last time we went trick or treating and it wasn't raining.

JO is probably at rope drop as we speak. And here we are.

No, really we are very excited for her and not one bit jealous, right???

Hi Mayers!

Today I am having lunch with a friend at Community Bakery. Her dd's birthday is this weekend and she is picking up her cake while we eat.

My ds needs a haircut afterschool so we will either go to SportClips or go to Regis at the mall. Those are his two favorite places to get his hair cut.

I might shop a little. My dh told me this morning that I should go out and do a little shopping for myself. I really need to shop for dd as her birthday is the 4th.

I need to excercise.

I need to do laundry.

We are leaving tomorrow to go to Fayetteville for the Razorback game. We play Ole Miss. Their new coach is our old coach so I hope we win!

We come back on Sunday.

No big plans here, I have 4-day weekend, from Saturday-Tuesday. Saturday and Sunday I'll probably spend mostly around the house and going grocery shopping. Monday I get to get my FL driver's license and Tuesday I think I'm gonna do my Christmas shopping since there is a 50% off merchandise cast discount from now til mid-November.

NC - UGH! I wouldn't do either.... LOL but if I had to choose it would be laundry. I'm sure you're exercising while doing that! I have to walk up and down steps the whole time!

Shelly - Never had Cookes of Dublin, I ate at Raglan Road at DTD and it was really really good! That's about as good as my wisdom gets!

Well, no more fires today so far, but we are still on "red flag alert" which means that it is going to be hot, high wind advisory and a lot of dry vegetation in danger of catching on fire.

Tonight we are going to Mickey's Trick-or-Treat event at DCA. Dressing up too! Planning to take lots of pictures.

Shelly, we love Raglan Road -- ate dinner there on my b-day (it's in the trip report). I'd probably like Cooke's because I like fish & chips, but Brrt doesn't eat fish so we haven't tried it. What other kinds of things do they serve?

No big plans this weekend...just laundry and dishes and grocery shopping, as usual. Probably pruning my roses for the fall. Just glad it's Friday and no work tomorrow...well I guess laundry and dishes and shopping and pruning counts as "work" huh?
