may 12, 2012 7 Night Western on the Fantasy

Hello - New to the FE program and this is our 2nd Disney Cruise.

Question - can guests staying on deck 11 or 12 in the suites participate???

Sounds like fun.

Hello-

We posted this a few days ago but nobody replyed. Can anyone answer this for us?

Our concern is that there are the gates that close off the concierge suites on deck 11 and 12 and that other FE participants may not be able to access the area. Have anyone heard anything about others participating while being in the suites? We were on the Dream last year and the gates where prety much always shut. Let us know if you can. Thanks!!

I was listening to a review of the Fantasy on the DIS Unplugged podcast and they said the the gates had been removed :thumbsup2

They even discussed what a great idea it was as the gates on The Dream were a problem

It would be lovely for you to join the FE group :goodvibes

I noticed that a few of you have posted pictures of your decorated doors

Here is ours from the Dream last year (our first ever cruise)

It was our first attempt so be gentle with us

If memory serves, you've cruised before but your little one hasn't. If I'm telling you something you already know...please ignore me. ;) The Caribbean sun will burn fair skinned people even at 10:45 a.m. so please lather on the sunscreen and if possible, put your son in a rash guard. Last June in the Bahamas, my youngest (who was 11 at the time) snorkeled all day and the back of his legs was bright red the rest of the cruise. Luckily his back was spared because of the shirt.

I was doing an itinerary similar to this one last May and my friend and I both wore board shorts and rash guards, found shade as often as possible, and used a ton of sunscreen. Unfortunately, a few too many beers coupled with cool water at a swim up bar in Cozumel made me forget to re-apply to my face. My nose was NOT happy that night and I looked faintly raccoonish. :lmao:

Perhaps this info will help any who have not cruised before or who have not been to these locations before. The sun is brutal down there, even when it feels lovely.

Great memory, yes I have cruised before! Thank you for all the suggestions. We will definitely be lathering up in sunblock regularly! It is 80 here in chicago today and I got burned while at the park LOL. I just know the earlier you go the better off you are. We would not stand a chance of sunblock working at noon! We will have hats, and longer clothes on to cover as much as we can :)

This thread moved so fast!! I've been out of commission for a few days (darn illness ) and I LOVE:love:the pictures of all the decorations on the door - we're starting to plan our decorations, but no concrete decisions yet

We are doing mainly beach ones with our 3.5 year old.

We are doing 7 mile beach (DCL), jungle beach break and buffet (DCL) and Cozumel beach excursion.(DCL) We all love to swim, and since we live in Seattle it's been raining/ snowing all week, that I am so ready for some warm weather and sunshine! :cool1:
We also are doing snorkeling, floats, and bike rentals at Castaway key. :thumbsup2

I will also fit in some shopping at ports too.

Hello! I, too, missed a couple days of checking the posts and am very excited to see all of the activity! I am going to have to call and make our dining rotation request when my DD gets home from school and tells me her preference. :cool1: We'll be celebrating her birthday at whichever restaurant we have an extra night. My guess is that the Royal Palace will be our pick. princess:

If the list grows much more, I would consider splitting it or cutting it off at 25. If it grows, take the first 20 signed up and put them in the Mickey group and then the next group could be Pluto, Goofy, or whoever. We need to have a cut off date fairly soon for the people that are making gifts, they need to know how to plan and make their presents.

I noticed that a couple more people in our group have expressed interest in joining the FE group over the last few days. :thumbsup2 I think that will bring the number of cabins up to 26 or 27. Should we vote on whether we want to cut off the FE group once they have been added or if we instead want to split the group, perhaps in the manner suggested by AppleGuy? I agree with AppleGuy that either way we should probably at least have a cut off date :hourglass fairly soon so that we can plan for our gifts.:artist:

Just checked a port calendar for our dates and it looks like we are the only ship in port on all three of our Caribbean ports... Can that be true?!

I agree. Maybe we should cut it off next week at some point. Then maybe we can take a poll to see if everyone wants to keep it together or split it. :confused3

Yay for being done with you FE gifts. I am sure we will all enjoy "it" :) I have most of mine but need to put them together, and then I am still waiting on some supplies to do my gift for the young cruisers ;) I am super excited for this cruise to! I just scored some mickey crocs at a resale for my little guy and I have some custom shirts on their way to our mailbox this week. Counting down the days

Hi all,

We are on this 5-12 cruise and are so about our first cruise and it is Disney ! We booked a AAA rate for 5-11 at the Hyatt MCO a few weeks ago for $161.10 plus tax.

That rate is now $143.10 plus tax. I thought I would post here in case anyone had a higher rate booked. I am a novice so that may not be the best rate always but is the best one I can find now. We want to stay in the airport and relax the night before the cruise.

Our DD are 11 and 5. I decided to not try the FE this cruise although it sounds like fun.

Happy Planning to all. :)
