Deanna insecure:lmao: what a hoot! Of course we all want to sail with a party girl (and all around totally nice person) like you again. I know! Take the PC AND book the Double Dip. Think of all the extra days of not taking care of yourself you could have:thumbsup2 We've been home for a full week now and not once has a towel animal and chocolate magically appeared on an impeccably made bed for me:sad2: I am totally with you in protesting this whole taking care of myself nonsense!

I made myself a monkey. I was having withdrawals. I was actually being uberMOM for about 3 minutes, thinking it would be so fun to make little animals for my kids with their clean towels. Then reality hit,and well,I realized they are lucky to get clean towels that are folded into rectangles. My monkey was very cute, though!

Me? A party animal?? How very funny. I'm usually just so happy sitting in a corner with my yarn.

You weren't sitting in any corners at Rockin' Bar D:cool1:

I am so procrastinating today. I SHOULD be planning out the Daisy bridging meeting that is Wednesday night. BUt instead I am typing on the boards nad spent a good hour+ tying hemp bracelets and chokers with Marika. I have had my fill of the real world and want back out! Rio is just as bad, he has been carrying around his Mousekateer crystal and wearing a winners medal around his neck all day:rotfl2:

Debbie, I know the pics are great and will have to look at them tonight.
There aren't any ones of me playing with my food???? Tee Heee.

I gained three pounds on the cruise, got the courage up to get on the scales this morning.

Later kids have a great week.

Ummm...like this :rotfl2:

Or coloring at the table:

Can not imagine why you would have gained 3 pounds...

Scott: Oh I am only having appetizer and salad tonight
Kumar: And some fish
Scott: No.. just an appetizer and salad
Kumar: And some fish it is wonderful
Scott: No really...
Kumar: I will bring you a "small" portion
Scott: Ok

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Debbie

That server conversation was priceless! I literally laughed out loud. Oddly they do that even when you order an entre, so you end up with two.

Oh Scott:lmao: and we thought the kids were at our table:rotfl2:

I got to out to dinner and play corporate wife tonight. It was sort of half way cruise like in so far as I got to dress decently and have a meal I neither cooked nor cleaned up. On the other hand I came home to a house that kids had had free run of, and still no towel monkey nor chocolate on my pillow (Deanna, forget being uber mom--come make a monkey for me--let's hope no one reads this and takes that sentence out of context:rotfl: )

Well, I think my reporting is done.

I would like to thank my tablemates, Lynn and Scott and Debbie and Jeanette, for making dining every night a very enjoyable experience.
Thanks also to our severs Kumar and Ana. Especially Ana who made sure that Scott and I had our after dinner coffee each night.:goodvibes

Thanks to Ken and Shari for all of their hard work on the lanyards and t-shirts. These items got a lot of notice and will make nice keepsakes.

Thanks to Linda for her organizing the group pictures, the jammie breakfast and the scrapbooking. Also for her work with the mini-navigator. Thanks also to Robert who I am sure was quite supporting in her efforts.

And it was great meeting new friends. Especially fellow Indiana natives.

It is all good.....just some is better than others.

Enjoyed the wonderful meals every night. I know that some have equated them to frozen food at costco, but I thought they were great.
My only complaint was that they changed the chocolate slipper.
The picture on the left is what it looked like 2 years ago. On the right, 2 weeks ago.

The chefs need to rethink this one.

Entertainment on the ship has always been a hallmark (forget the bumblesquats).
Really enjoyed all of the shows. But Mickey Dreams could use a little tweaking. Too loud and too busy.
The history lessons by Mr Papavassilou were a bit dry. He seemed to know his stuff, but the presentation was off.

The deck parties were great. Especially Pirate Night. And the fireworks were wonderful. Also, seems we are still talking about the Buffett tribute. FINS UP.

Our stateroom host Wayan did his best to keep our stateroom in tip top shape. He made sure everything was where it should be.

All in all, it was a Lovely Cruise.
Despite a few bumps in the water here and there, we would do it again.
Definitely.:thumbsup2

:rotfl:  Bwaa haaa. Just when I thought I was done crying about the end of the Vacation Of A Lifetime, I log on to the thread again, see everyone's familiar names, read the posts, and I cry again. Ok ok, I know I'm emotional anyway--as our tablemates Erik and Jason will attest, I believe I cried at every dinner for some reason or another--but just being back on the thread after a few days and it makes me miss the cruise all the more. However, seeing the hysterical picture of Scott made me snap out of it fast!:rotfl:

Thank you for everyone's posts and recaps.

DizzneyDAnn, we were initially booked on the May Panama Repo as well, but we actually cancelled it and booked 2 others, the Double Dip as you know, and one in Feb 08. As much as we would LOOOOVE another Repo and longer cruise, we are just getting much better value in the other two. We would love to see you on the other one! I am SOOO envious you get to come back in August!! I'm sure your Girls Trip will be just as amazing!

Same for all the Back to Backers or those going back in the summer for one of the Med sailings. So lucky!

It's been said repeatedly, but meeting so many of you has truly made this an even better vacation. Thank you all and God bless.

Debbie, I will be looking at the picture link later tonight, but I'm afraid I'll start crying again. :)

Later all!
Chris

sniff sniff <<passing a Kleenex to Chris>> I'm officially adopting you as my long lost brothers.

I think Scott is going to kill me for that picture :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :)

Great picture Bob! It did take him 2 seatings to finish the masterpiece :)

I am glad you are all liking the pictures. I am working on uploading the second week to a seperate album. But I got a bit carried away on the Barcelona fireworks pictures :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 So it is taking a bit longer for the upload. So probably tomorrow I will be able to post the link.

It is fun to load them and look at all the fun again!

Debbie

Hi all,
We just got home after spending several days in Paris then more time at DLP. We had a great time on the cruise and it was a pleasure meeting you all. Sherry and I are ready for another cruise anytime( Still checking on the double dip)
I agree with the BCN airport and the messy conditions at DLP. Had rain while in Paris but got the main tourist places taken care of. The Louvre could take several days itself to get through. I did walk up the 700 stairs to the 2nd level on the Eiffel Tower. We stayed for three days at the Disneyland Hotel. I must say that it was beautiful room and...., location, location, location! Nice to be in your room within 2 minutes of leaving the park. We moved to Hotel Santa Fe for the remainder of the trip. It was cheaper than the DL Hotel and it showed. Dirty rooms and badly maintained. Im thinking of writing to the Disney corporate office to see if they know what product their name is on.
At DLP, we found light crowds in the first half of the week, yet poorly cleaned(and very nasty smelling) restrooms. The park and hotel cast were not friendly like we are used to here in the US, and gave wrong information several times. To me, it was very clear that the cast and management are not run by the same Disney compnay here.

Anyways I need to catch up on reading all these pages and the live reports.

See ya real soon,
Jerry

BTW does anyone have a pic of Darrell (hoagiepie) getting off the ship with all his medals on?

Hi Jerry!

I wish I had the picture of Darrell LOL.... but I sure did hear him leaving :rotfl:

Had similar experiences in Paris with the rain and at DLP. I did an online survey the other day and did not hold back.

Glad to see you made it home!

Debbie

Ok!

I have uploaded the second week of pictures :surfweb: There are ALOT of fireworks pictures. So if you go through those quickly then you have most of the show LOL

Again, if there are any pictures people would like, please let me know. I will be doing the captions on both of the albums soon.

Here it is: Magic to the Med Photo Album Part 2

Debbie,
These are EXCELLENT also:thumbsup2 I had no idea when we joined on that by booking a cruise with you we would have a top notch personal photagrapher along to capture all our memories for us! Thank you for sharing:)

Debi - those are fantastic - really brings back the memories! They also make me want to say - I want to do that again!!! Thanks for sharing your photos and I'm am being asked what kind of camera you shot them with.

This is totally of the topic but I am curious if anyone else has any info on this. There is currently another thread called "Stranded Children." On that Gydell reports that we actually did leave a couple in Cadiz! They cauhgt up in Gibraltar, but they did have children on board. I don't doubt Gydell's information at all (we sure heard the announcemnets lookng for that couple and were out on the veranda watching the dock hoping to see some entertaining runs (didn't see anyone--they would not have been left if we had seen anything). I also do not blame DCL for leaving at the appointed time. I am just shamelessly curious as to how old the kids were and who this might have been (there was a very rude couple we kept running into, and so did my in-laws and their friends and none of us compared notes about this until we all saw them at BCN and collectivly groaned that they were still around). I can't help but wonder if it was them as Gydell reports the CM told her this couple just lost track of time (no real issue to prevent them from making the ship).

As with you I did hear someone had missed the ship and had to pick it up later but didn't hear any other information
