I'm a big fan of characters too. And it's just DH and me. I'm thinking about making a special autograph book for the cruise, since I haven't had character pics in awhile. I figure the lines shouldn't be too bad on this cruise more adults than kids, and not a lot of anyone.

So which characters might we see...Mickey and Friends, Princesses, Peter Pan characters...anyone else?

Chip and Dale are usually aboard.....I've seen a lot of Stitch on board lately, too.....I think that's pretty much who we see a lot of....I think on at least one cruise we might have seen some Alice in Wonderland characters, too...but I can't completely recall.

I know we've never seen Pooh characters (like TIGGER :tigger:)...which stinks! hehehehe

OK...Thanks for the info about Animator's. Our Palo dinner is not until Day 10 of the cruise....so I"m sure we'll be able to see the show before then as we'll have eaten in AP at least 3 times by then....they're BOUND to have done the show by that point.

Now my other dining concern is that our Palo Brunch is scheduled for Thursday, May 17th....and I read somewhere that the character breakfasts are sometimes scheduled for Thursdays.....and I don't know if it's silly for 2 grown men to want to eat breakfast with characters...but too bad! :) I love characters!:thumbsup2

:tigger:

Erik

Your Palo's brunch will be at 10:30 a.m., so even if by chance your character breakfast gets scheduled that morning it will not have a time conflict. We have gone to the character breakfast and just had juice and taken pictures and enjoyed our time with the characters and then gone to brunch and eat then.

My family booked this trip on the Wonder this week! :thumbsup2 We just returned last night. I haven't even unpacked our suitcases yet!

It will be my DH Mike, DD Ali 13, DS JC 11, DS Chris 9, DD Katie 7 and myself, Cindy. We live in Northern CA.

I will be very busy, trying to read all the past posts!;)

Yeah I thought of that as I processed it a bit more....because our Palo brunch is actually at 11 or 11:30. I intentionally scheduled our seating less towards the "BR-" and more towards the "-UNCH" part of our day......I did that so we could sleep in if we wanted but if our Character Breakfast is that day then we will indeed just get up and go get seated early at Breakfast, see the characters, have some juice and then wait to really eat until later when we go to the Brunch.

We're getting quite a nice little flow of new passengers! I'll tell you now although others may repeat it.....you should check out the first post on page 143.....Ken (kpros---one of our fearless leaders) has set that up as our unofficial guide to all this DisBoard and Repo-to-the-Med!!

Any day at Disneyland is a good day!!! It is 392 miles from our driveway to the Disneyland Hotel! We spent Christmas there last year, it was "Practically Perfect in every way!" We even won Dream Fast Passes!!!

Okay, our "Ship and Shore Guide for Transatlantic Sailings" arrived this morning; now I'm really excited and my kids are bouncing off the walls, even the teenagers who are usually far too cool to risk showing enthusiasm for anything!

85 days and counting!

On the 11 night (and I think the panama cruise) I saw Stitch.
I think saw Alice once. Don't remember when.

I seem to recall reading on the boards about why you will not see Pooh, Tigger and friends. It has something to do with Disney not having total rights to those characters. Yes that does stink 'cause I like Tigger too.
Woo Hoo Hoo Hoooooo!

I am still waiting for the t-shirt design as a formal shirt with tropical flowers and a splash of pirate to wear for formal night, tropical night and pirate night. I can't remember who was designing it, did I miss the final design?:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Alex

OHYEAH! pirate: I could wear my pirate wench wear EVERY night! Good idea! How about one of those T-shirts with the tux imprinted on them? and black shorts! that sounds like Florida formal to me!

Has anyone found a good deal to exchange dollars for euros? I found a site to exchange for euros cash or traveler checks in euros at foreignexchangeservices.com/ They offered a rate of $1.3642/euro and an $8.00 shipping fee. I hesitate exchanging euros on the ship at guest services or in town as you never know what the exchange rate might be. Any other options or thoughts? Alex

I was going to check the local SunTrust Bank. I know they changed Pounds to Dollars for a friend of mine who was visiting from England. He said the rate was just about right. Connie

I asked on our last cruise because Tigger is my favorite also, and the CM that is in charge of the characters said Tigger isn't allowed on board because he would bounce right off the ship. Made sense to me!

On the last cruise we saw Alice alot and if you watched the navigator you could go see her and the rabbit and the Queen in front of the Walt Disney Theater lobby and play croquet with them. I just happened to walk by when it was happening and the few kids that were there were having a blast.

Also, on our last 14 night the characters were everywhere. I have got pictures with some that I have never seen out before on any of the other cruises. Especially when we came into the new ports. It was a blast.

Welcome all!!!  :cheer2: :cheer2:

Lots of new folks! I have updated the page with the new people and did a few other updates. You can click on the link in my signature to view it.

Milestogo: Ahhh the now infamous Fish extenders. They came about as a fluke and they were the hit of the Panama Canal repo. And have since become the hit on many cruises. But we can say we were the first to extend our fish. :thumbsup2

This weekend will include moving copius amounts of snow from the driveway and sidewalk so when it is 40 degrees next week it will melt easily!

When is ScottH coming home??? Can not wait to hear about their trip!

Tig82174 (Erik) - my son-in-law gave my daughter and me the single villa treatments on our Wonder Christmas vacation. I absolutely loved it but my daughter didn't. She felt claustrophobic (sp?). You go in and get undressed and wrap yourself in a huge towel. She gave me a foot rub in a basin of water. She offered me tea, wine, or champagne. Next I hopped in the hot water tub and was petrified because I thought the people above me on the next deck could see me. I thought she left me there a long time. I never did get to lounge (relax) on the beautiful bed that was outside on the deck. After the hot tub we went inside to the other room and she gave me a facial - very nice. The best part for me was the last part. They have a new bed - it is like a heated water bed that you sink down in and she does your massage there. Needless to say when I got up I was definitely in la la land. I was extremely relaxed and unstressed. I loved it. On the other hand my daughter hated the last part as she felt hemmed in and couldn't relax. It is very very pricey. Now that I've done it would I do it again if I was paying for it - probably not. I would be just as happy with a plain wonderful massage. Our massage therapist was definitely not the best I've had so that makes a big difference too. On the Magic they might have a fabulous massage therapist. Hope this answers some of your questions.

It does...thank you....I have a strong feeling that we'll try it out just for the experience. You're right it is pricey....but I'm just spending Jason's money ;) :rotfl: !! And neither of us are spa people at all...we only indulge in things like that when we're at Disney or on a Cruise....so it'll be just a very indulgent nice experience.....and your'e the 2nd person to warn me about the decks above seeing you in the hot tub.....which honestly isn't that a huge a concern for me cuz I'm not really a birthday suit kinda guy....even for the massages and stuff I usually keep some kind of garment on (Heck...on our first Disney cruise together we did that Exotic Razul lock-yourself-in-a-steamroom-with-your-partner-and-smear-yourself-up-with-colored-mud-thing they have---and I wanted to wear trunks in that!!!)....so I won't care that much if people see me in the hot tub cause I won't be offering much of a show!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

BTW----we just got back from seeing Disney's new release "Bridge to Taribithia."

I liked it a lot but it was NOTHING like I expected....I think it's a pretty mature film considering the way they marketed it. So without spoiling the film for anyone let me just say this.....despite the CGI-rich trailers on disney.com and on TV that lead you to believe it's like a big fairy tale fantasy movie.....it's pretty heavy material for very young kids I think!! :)

Welcome aboard!!!!! Like Erik said, check out the first post on page 143 for some basic info.

Milestogo - Hi Kelly, sorry we missed you today. We were out of the house at 6:00am. Still hit lots of traffic and didn't get into the park until after 8:30am. But we had a great time. Temps in the hi 70's and not super packed. The new music and lights in Space Mountain were cool, but the new music on Screamin didn't really add anything in my opinion.

we are exchanging money at our bank....i plan to watch the rates for a while and then order some before we go....

DON"T FORGET!!! we need british pounds too for gilbraltar!!!!!

i remember reading Bridge to Terabithia when i was younger and I do not remember any of this fantasy stuff, only the really heavy parts....unless the movie is very different from the book, it has some serious subjects addressed.....
