Hi everyone! I've been enjoying reading the thread.

We just booked this cruise for ourselves and DS (8). I'm a little nervous and keep switching rooms after looking on the deck plans. Does anyone know if there's much noise from doors slamming across the hall and/or noise transfer between rooms next door? I'm wondering if we should go with an elevator lobby room instead. Any advice from previous cruisers?

I know; I can't believe people are booking this late! I'd be a basket case if I had only two weeks to prepare for this trip. I'm all about getting the best price and I try to do that for my clients, too. So it's hard to imagine getting a good deal on air at this late date.

DH's grass skirt came today, almost finished my vest and one button to go on DD's vest. DM flew home. I can't say I'm glad she's gone, but I am happy to have the guest room back. I can start packing!

Off to finish DD's work uniform and then off to bed. Have a wonderful night!

I was subbing at McCoy Elementary today. The one on the news for being in LOCKDOWN all day for someone binging a gun on campus!!!

Is there such thing as Hazard Pay for substitute teachers!!!???

Oh come on, we all know you are LYING about getting them!!! (at least that is what some TAs say!!! ) so how could you be excited about NOT getting them!?!?!?!!

Well, tomorrow we start with the calls to the senators and congressman. After our third phone call to the passport center's customer no service number we are about ready to go spend a day in Los Angeles and just collect the whole dang families while we are there.

Just to bring you up to date: Originally applied 2/12/07 and advised 4-6 weeks
Called on 4/16/07 because that was 10 weeks and still no passport and were advised that it had been marked up to urgent and would go out that week
Called 4/23/07, it has now been 11 weeks, and told still hadn't been done but would be mailed out that day, had been upgraded to expedited
Called 4/24/07 still hasn't gone out, but will go out today
Called back 4/24/07 at 6pm PDT, sat on hold for 90 minutes and got disconnected after it tried to ring through and no one picked up

Tomorrow I will call again in the morning and tell them they either give me the fed ex number or they will be hearing from my congressman or senator or both as the letters are typed up and loaded into the fax machine. Oh and if we still don't get it, we want to know where to send the bill for the money lost on the cruise.

They are making me use my power for evil instead of good...this never ends well for the other party...

Hi Everyone,

Welcome newcomers! Wow it really is looking like a party now. I've still got some catching up to do here but next week should be very quiet for me. The move will be behind us and I'll be sitting around (still unable to drive due to my broken/sprained ankles) at my neighbors' house. I'll definitely be spending some quality time on this board.

To update, the packers will finish today and tomorrow the movers arrive to cart our stuff away. We close on the sale of our house on Friday. This has been a very smooth move so far despite my injury that has largely put me on the sidelines. Ted has stepped up and picked up the slack. He is exhausted but this trip is certainly providing the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm feeling better but not getting around too well with the new non-weight bearing cast. The idea is to keep me off my feet...easier said than done.

I'm looking to order a couple of more items from CafePress so if anyone has a discount code/coupon please pass it along. Thanks.

Erik, When I was in Coronado last week I signed Amy up for gymnastics camp at Island Tumble in August. I told them that she didn't have her cartwheel yet. (They expect their 6-yr-olds to be able to do a cartwheel.) Amy quickly chimed in that she was going to learn to do cartwheels on the Disney Cruise!

Ottosmom, I noticed on the cruise roster that you are from Norfolk. We're neighbors...well at least for the next couple of weeks.

i love amazing race...i do like amber and rob and were sad to see them go but this all star season has been good...the frat boy/pink girl team is a little whiny but they have been through it this year...the team that has surprised me the most is mirna and schmirna (sp??)...she has done so much for someone so small and i hope they make it to final three, although i doubt they can win....the beauty queens are so vicious i would hate to see them win....i like the guy team too...but they were right about the yield giving them bad karma!!

survivor this last week was one of the best episodes yet and next weeks looks as good when they find the other hidden idol...did anyone know they were going to rehide the immunity idol once it is played??? i want yauman to win this year but i doubt he will....

american idol....i think melinda has the best voice but not very marketable, i think Blake is the most talented and very marketable! but i think the judges are pushing Jordan too much...i do not think she is "all that" and her performance tonight was pitchy and she screamed as much as the other gal simon got onto about screaming but the judges just gush all over jordan...i think they want a younger winner to appeal to all the younger viwers that actually buy all the cds!!! it is getting interesting for sure....

well, those are all the reality shows i watch...anyone want to chime in too???
