Ah, sure. I can't be greedy. Anyway, the group-hug icon has 5 people in it, so it's meant to be! :grouphug:

Um, Eric, you're marrying Laura, too, 'kay??? :rolleyes1

Erik,

I can sew!!! I used to make custom wedding dresses so I am good!!! And I can cross stitch and do embroidery. Really, I would be a big help on your projects!!! :thumbsup2

Mine is like a credit card - hard plastic and looks a little different:

Ours are like the old one on the bottom.

I haven't seen any posts about the Barcelona Fountains lately - is that a go or canceled? What is the name of the fountains please? We are going to be in Barcelona for a few days after and might be able to add that to the every growing list of things to do....

Laura, are you bringing hand-work on the cruise? Someone is bringing quilting and I'm bringing knitting.

Magic Fountain - this is from the 1st Med Cruise Thread.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Come one, come all - to a few FREE excursions (yes, FREE) before we set sail out of Barcelona. Kids, Cocker Spaniels (and their owners) welcome!

First up is FRIDAY EVENING: Enjoy the light, water and music show of the Magic Fountain! Show begins at 8pm and runs every 30 minutes until midnight. Time for our meet is TBD, but 8PM would work for me unless I hear differently. We will meet at the base of the fountain near the steps to the Museu National d'Art Catalunya. To get there, go via Metro (or foot power) to Placa Espanya. Go through the tall columns following the small water fountains until you reach the big oval Magic Fountain. We'll meet on the far side closest to the steps. Look for wild and crazy DISer's speaking English (it's kind of hard to miss a DIS group).

Here is a picture of the fountain in fully glory. Here is an orientation picture from the steps at the Museu National d'Art Catalunya. The oval fountain at the bottom of the steps is the Magic Fountain. If you keep looking in the distance you will see two tall columns. Those mark the entrance at Placa Espanya.

You must be good! My grandmother was a seamstress for the Bonfis theater in Denver; so I have the genes for it. I do all right.

I ordered the fabric for the vests I plan to make for one of the semi-formal nights last night. You'll have to tell me how handy you think I am when you see them. :confused3

I love to quilt, so I'll have some of my handwork with me on the cruise. Maybe I might finish the last 6 blocks and then when I get home I can put that quilt top together. We'll see, sometimes I just prefer to read. :)

Have a great day everyone,

Lori

I am thinking about it. I am working on a Mirabella mermaid cross stitch that I would really like to finish....it is on linen and I have to wear magnifying glasses while I work on it.

Laura

Oh, and if anyone wants to learn to knit (but I know you will be enjoying boat stuff most of the time) Just bring size 8 or 10 needles (I like the plastic ones for travel) and some regular worsted weight yarn and I'll show you how. Just an offer in case someone "always wanted to learn how." I learned in Denmark as an exchange student an really find it peaceful.:hippie:

I love to read too. Last 14 day cruise was Harry Potter, so since no HP, I will need something to keep my idle hands busy...and cross stitch is much less expensive than Bingo!!!:lmao: :lmao:

Thanks Ken - I got my threads crossed (no pun intended!)

I keep trying to decide if I am going to bring my cross stitching or not. All my projects are BIG (the Stoney Creek Disney kits). I would probably have to leave the scroll frame at home, and it's not as enjoyable to try and do it with no hoop/frame. I guess if I take it off the frame for travelling, put it on while we are on the ship... But it seems like every vacation I have taking stitching on, never gets worked on. But I've never been on a trip with a full week at sea before either.

I like Harry Potter! This time I will have one or two of the paper backs with me. I'm re-reading the series in preperation for the new release in July.

Speaking of books, wasn't someone organizing a book exchange? Dh would be interested in that - he likes science fictions also.

One of my fondest memories is pulling out of port with the party going on upstairs, sitting on my balcony, knitting a pair of baby socks. The people on shore at that restaraunt waving with their big Mickey hands.

I often don't work on it other than the first day, though, but if I DON"T have it, I will wish for it. And I do need it for the plane.

With my knitting, piano, need for good sheets and missing my kids, I am beginning to sound as if I should just stay home! Kinda giving the wrong impression--I really do enjoy the boat and usually try to fit in as many activities as possible, running poor Scott ragged! I just want it all, comforts of home and fun on the high seas.:dance3:

It's hard to keep the thread straight without a score card - and even then it's not easy. I keep putting people on the wrong lanyard list. :rotfl2:

:offtopic:

anyone ever stay at the all star sports before? what did you think?

I've stayed at the other two all star resorts, but not sports. I would think they are very much the same. I pay the extra for prefered view at the values. They are okay, nothing fancy, nothing wrong with them. If we only had four in the family (before baby turned 3) I'd stay there again. One of the things that makes a difference to me is the fact that they don't have a slide at the pool. But again, not a big deal when trying to keep the budget down. :)

Lori

I have! If you can stay at Pop Century I think that is better. Rooms and everything equal but the Sports shares a bus with the other All Stars. The Pop has it's own bus.

Finally getting around to ordering t-shirst. Does anyone have a coupon code for cafepress?

Thanks,

Lori

Goodmorning all, interesting on the meal plan. Is it a better deal than the DDE?

Debbie, you guys have made our news every day between the weather and the baseball.

Hoagiepie, Lots of people go through DCL in the first place then transfer to a TA to get their onboard credit.

Thank you - love the tips. I had no idea!!!
