DCL just told me that Pirate night was set for May 18th. It took the CM some time to find it but she said that is when it is set for. She reconfirmed formal night is May 14th with Captains on the 19th and semi-formal on the 24th. Hope she knows what she is talking about!

OOOOH!! Gydell wins the award for "Operative of the Day" for getting those details!! :thumbsup2

I hope those dates are right because those are all dates on which Jason and I have NOTHING planned or booked so they don't conflict with any spa treatments or Palo reservations or anything....YIPPEE:banana: !!

Hadley, Thanks, That will be KEWL.

Way to go gydell...Thanks

Good job, Gydell.

Elizabeth, Now Pirates are something that seem more real to me. With all the pirate attack stories off the coast of Africa. We have talked about that several times here. Tidal waves and floating ice are not likely in May, but pirates on the other hand....pirate: The only pirates I want to see are two big mice and a goofy dog in a pirate outfit.

Big stuff happening at DL today. It is the 40th anniversary of the opening of POC - Walt's last project. Some of the original engineers will be there signing autographs. We were planning to go today, but decided we had too much to do today. pirate:

Oh yeah, and gas is 3.14!

Hey guys, tonight on the Travel Channel they are running what looks like a new show "Cruising do's and don'ts"

Thanks, I'll try and fit in my ''busy'':rotfl2: schedule. If not I can always record it.

Pirate Night has to be on the 18th, that's the night we booked Palo for. :lmao: :lmao:

wrabitdad - The Cm could be wrong, you know many of them are. I just told what I was told.

Packing list?

I have been known to be throwing our stuff into bags as we are headed out the door to the airport. Just never enough time to get it all done, let alone to plan ahead!:rotfl:

We don't use a packing list - we use a trip box, which we started putting things into about a year ago.

We will buy things on the trip that we forgot.

Hey folks,

Ironically I got a reply from my T.A. today, too with some information about the cruise. Here is the text of the email she sent me:

Erik,

Here's what DCL could tell me so far:

Themed nights that are official -
Semi Formal - night 8 and night 14
Formal - night 3
Pirate - night 7
I was told they are working on other theme nights but haven't officially
released anything on those.

Movies showing onboard so far are-
Bridge To Terabithia
déjà vu
Cars
Invincible
Meet The Robertson's
Pirates 2
Primeval
The Guardian
The Incredibles
The Prestige
The Shaggy Dog
Santa Clause 3
Step Up
Wild Hogs

I asked specifically about the Pirate 3 movie and was told..."You never
know! There may be some special surprises for guests"....now that sounds to
me like it may very well happen but who knows! LOL

So you can see the info that was shared with her....the only difference I see is that according to the information she was given, the second semi-formal night is on night 14...which is actually the 25th (our day in Barcelona and the night before we disembark) rather than the 24th....so not sure which is correct, BUT it bodes well, I'd say, that so many different people are getting hte same or similar information for the rest of the nights.

I have a delusion that they will premiere the 3rd pirates movie a little early for us. A midnight showing on the Thursday would leave everyone bleary eyed for the Barcelona day, and I figured most of the ship would want to see it so they would have to have more than one showing. Pirates Night seems to be a good night to have a movie premiere, doesn't it? :rotfl2:

It would be great if they would show POC early. I filled out all my online forms today - 1 more thing off my list!

I agree completely...I think they WILL let us see it a little early...and I imagine there will be multiple shows, too.....Jason had an idea that made some sense....he suggested that it might be the designated show in the Walt Disney Theater where the stage shows happen. That way they have it showing twice and scheduled in such a way as to accomodate everyone in conjunction with their dinner rotation (the way they do the shows). Regardless of how they do it...I'm sure it will be a very popular event!!

We are with ya on this one, That woudl be great....

OK, who else spent the afternoon watching Samantha Brown in Europe (Italy)?

Anyone notice how much DCL is being shown on the new Travel Channel's Cruising Do's and Don'ts show. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Bob

I'm watching the show, it's also on later tonight. I also watched Samantha in Barcelona.

Nope no Sam Brown, finished up the taxes, worked on the yard, it was 70 today and sunny, a little office work time getting ready for next week, made a DVD of our Tanzania trip, Doing our door magnet, and working on a little treat for one and all, short dog walk, later took the pups on a ride to Walmart (they wanted to go). Decided that the Bubba mug will be going on this trip.

Eric, thanks for the info, sounds promising.

Sheppard pie is in the oven, and making shortcake for desert.

Busy day, but glad to get stuff done, I was feeling behind the power curve.

National Geo Channel has a great Galapagos feature on. Fantastic photography.

Really ready for this trip.

Pirates Night seems to be a good night to have a movie premiere, doesn't it? :rotfl2:

Yes, my dh has a theory on this one too. He says that all the celebrities are going to get to watch Pirates 3 at Disneyland on May 19th. So, since our pirate night is the 18th, he says maybe after the party they will show it at Midnight on the 19th. Who knows?

Speaking of that. If they show a movie at midnight any night, will the kids club be open later to accomadate the late showing?
