May 11th 2008 ~ Any Double Dippers Out There?

:rotfl2: I was thinking the same thing - I'm 42 with a 2.5 and 4.5 year old. I keep telling DH it's his fault we'll never be able to retire! (he took forever and then some to propose) And I keep thinking of menopause with TEENAGERS! Oh well... we'll cross that bridge when we come to it (walkers and all!!)...

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

...Karen awesome trip report...

Thank you!

...It's funny, I read your trip report and it's so packed with stuff to do - I thought to myself, "ah the good old days"... that's what our vacations were like before kids!! Now it's literally "fly by the seat of our pants and hope no one has a meltdown" vacation planning! We've found we've become much more laid back about our WDW vacations though and have learned to slow down and go with the flow (our kids flow, mind you, not ours). While I do miss the adult only vacations with the ability to do what we want when we want, I love seeing Disney through the eyes of my kids now.
I guess I've done it in reverse - our first vacations at WDW were when the children were smaller and there is nothing like experiencing Disney with children. We never had any opportunities to enjoy adults-only trips as DH and I went from kids to parents (see above post! ;) ) very quickly... I'm looking forward to being Nana so I can enjoy it all again... :cloud9:

...I must say I am very very impressed w/ the itinterary of Custard tart (lol)...and its so wonderful of that relationship w/ her dd...

Thanks Wendy! :thumbsup2 Had to endure many a teenage strop to get to this point tho'... :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Seriously, can we just get it over with and start the formal adoption proceedings? Haven't I suffered enough with my measly 3 value trips to WDW, don't I deserve to be in a family like yours?! You can just tell people I'm really 8 but you accidentally left me in the sun too long as a baby. C'mooooon, you know you wanna...aren't I pitiful, how can you resist this sad face? :guilty:

Oh come on then!!! ;)

...I love that you're fitting in a trip to the shops :thumbsup2 The ultimate in bonding. For your off-property dinner, have you tried Maggianos? I was a little psyched to read they have one on International Drive. I could possibly be convinced to sell government secrets for a lifetime supply of their Rigatoni D' and Tiramisu. Come to mama!
We have to shop. It's part of the reason we love coming over to Orlando. Great malls, great products, great exchange rate - it's the stuff of dreams... :cloud9:

Maggianos sounds luverlee - will forward the website details to DD so she can check it out... :thumbsup2

...then head on over to the Princess and Pirate Party as early as we can get over there (finally bought my tickets pirate: ) and ride as many of the rides and do as much as we can that evening - I can't wait - don't know if we'll make it till midnight but I plan on staying as long as we can keep going! I want to see the fireworks, parade, the whole thing...

Is that on the Friday, Yvonne? Do you fancy trying to say "hi" at any point??? :goodvibes

...So here's a question for everyone: which would you rather have....a four day visit from a MIL who gets snarkier every year or a root canal?

Tough choice, huh?

Well wait Bob, I think I'll choose what's behind door number three!

Congratulations, you've won a year's supply of Rice a Roni (the San Francisco treat, ding ding) and BOTH a visit from your MIL while getting a root canal at the saaaaaaaaaaaame time!

Seriously....well, about everything but the Rice-a-Roni. And I am so weird that I am actually deeply amused that it really does sound like an in-law joke :rotfl: . You want to hear something even more funny? It's happening on April Fool's Day and they're working on the 13th molar. I guess I really will do anything for a laugh. :rolleyes1 I'm a sick sick woman.

OMG!!! And I thought my life had it's black comedic moments - this, my dear Brandi, just about takes the ricecake... :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Hi everyone! Count me in on the fish extender! I will bring you all something from Maryland!

Tim and I are getting so excited about the cruise!

Hi Heather! I've only just realised that you must be Kristin's friend! :headache: I am cruising with her in August 2009! Can't wait to meet her and her family - those twins sound adorable... :cloud9:

Seems like it really is a small world after all, it's a small, small world... :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

...I have, to the best of my ability, added a list of cruisers to the first post in this thread. If any of the info is inaccurate or just plain wrong, please let me know... :goodvibes

Have a great day! :flower3:

UGH!!! I'm getting a crown on #14 on the 4th! LOL Actually, this will be the temporary crown and they'll give me a couple of weeks to decide if that will take care of the issue, if not then I'll be heading for a root canal also! UGH I hope it all goes well for you.

Okay can I say it? You know I have to say it....there comes a moment when you just can't hold it back.

We're twinkies! :teeth:

Dental twinkies...though those terms together may be waaay too much of a paradox.

Now are you like me and you thought you just had to finally get this taken care of so you wouldn't me moaning and grabbing your jaw everytime you tried to drink a patented DCL frozen drink? Funny what can finally make a person see a dentist. :rolleyes1

(Actually I kept remembering Karen's daughters tooth issues during their last trip, and I SO didn't want that to be me!)

You are a peach -- very nice of you to take care of that for everyone.

Oh, don't say Twinkie!! ;) Before we moved here, I would have just kept all food and drink off that side of my mouth and dealt with the occassional pain that snuck in anyway. My dentist here, however, is really awesome, so when I bit down on something soft and felt like I'd been electricuted, and then couldn't even use mouthwash without feeling like I was going to die, I knew I had to get it taken care of. I still had to wait until our dental insurance started a new year at the end of Feb, but now I have a clean slate again and I'm gonna fill it up!!!

I do have to admit, however, that I have scheduled the temporary and permanent placements with the cruise in mind. I don't want a bad tooth to slow down my eating. I also scheduled DD's orthodontic treatment for after the cruise. She is due to have her braces tightened the week before and I told them they'd just HAVE to schedule her for the week after the cruise, so she can eat without being in pain. :D

Yes that is me! After a long time lurking, :surfweb: I finally started posting!!! Tim and I are hoping to rebook onboard for the Aug 09 cruise. Then I can join you over on that board! You will love Kristin. We meet 2 1/2 years ago on our cruise meet thread. We still talk everyday. Kristin and I are hoping to get together this summer in NY.

Hope to meet you onboard and maybe at the PP&P before the cruise!
Tim and I will only be doing the PP&P. We are staying at the Raddison at the port.

Your plan looks GREAT! Gotta love da' Boma. I'm currently on temporary suspension from cooking anything curry-spice-like in my own house (long story), so I really wish I'd planned to go there! I can't wait to hear how you guys like AKL, and how Alec likes the world. Has he gotten over some of his ride fear?

So here's a question for everyone: which would you rather have....a four day visit from a MIL who gets snarkier every year or a root canal?

Thanks for your vote of confidence! Makes me feel so much better about my plan!! :cool1: Yes Alec seems to be very excited these days - thanks for asking. Seems to be over his fears and is so interested when we see anything that has to do with Disney or Mickey Mouse etc. Of course we'll see when we get there - but right now I'm very hopeful!! :thumbsup2

That's great news! :thumbsup2 It sounds like it's going to be a fab cruise, I do hope you can join us... ;) Coincidentally, 2 of the August 09 posters are on the same August 08 Mexican Riviera cruise as DH, DS and myself and I'm meeting up with another at the P&PP on May 9th!!! :cool1: Don't worry, I'm not going to quote "It's a Small World" again. But it is... :goodvibes

...Hope to meet you onboard and maybe at the PP&P before the cruise!

Yes Friday the 9th - would love to meet and say hi! And Alec needs to meet his TWIN right?! :goodvibes let me know what you think!

That would be fun, Heather and Yvonne! We are flexible - there's only our 5.20pm ADR at LTT which is fixed...

Curses Karen! Now since post 787 I can't get the damn song out of my head "it's a world of laughter, a world of tears..........." with those little wooden children going round and round in my head!

GOT MY PASSPORTER!!! :cool1: I'm gonna be a little busy for a couple hours now. :cheer2: I'll be back after I've read it with my trusty highlighter and post-its.

So DD had her communion pics taken today..... WOW what a dress... She looked beautiful... Wait until you see it.... Communion is a week from Saturday.

Its getting closer.........

Go Phils!
