should this be a good time to go to WDW in 09?

I am thinking the crowds should be pretty light since most schools are still in session. and the weather shouldn't be TOO hot then.

thank you.

We went at about that time the last 2 May's. May 13-19 2007 and May 10-17 2008. May 2007 was great, most waits under 20 minutes for everything and the weather was in the mid to upper 80's during the day cooling into the upper 70's in the evening. So we figured why mess with a good thing and went back the same week in May 2008. It was more crowded this time. The waits were still not too bad, usually 20-45 minutes. But the weather really did us in. It was 94-95 every single day we were there. Terribly hot. So we are not chancing it this time, we are going in January! :rotfl:

Good luck. :goodvibes Overall May is a nice time to go.

during the week you should be good, but this is still the spring break time for someone.

We went May 10 thru the 18th 2008. It was great low lines. It was not to hot I dont remember it being in the 90's. The only problem we stayed at FW on the weekend of the 18 they have a Ironman tri so it was crowded then. We where thinking of doing the same dates this year but change it to Loving wife BDay and DD Bday first of March.

I gone around the same time for the last 3 years and it really is a great time of year to go. I love the Flower and Garden exhibits in Epcot.
Out of the three years I gone, 2 of those 3 it was hot and humid, the other it was so pleasant, in the low to mid 80s and not humid at all. I have come to realize that this is not the norm for that time of year.
But crowdwise it has not been too crowded, most attractions 20 minutes except for the minor attractions like Soarin, Splash Mountain etc.
This year I went to one of the P&P parties and that was great, no lines for the rides in the MK at all. It was well worth the extra $$ just to ride Splash Mountain twice in a row!

Crowded is a relative term - its all in what you are used to. IMHO there are few uncrowded times anymore. Between the parties, the festivals, conferences, sporting groups, etc... That said, some times are better than others.

I still long for the empty days of 1998 and e-nights so any level of crowd is a crowd to me! We also go every May and have found the levels of guest increase each year, but if you go early, use late entry you can beat some heat some late starters.

Boy I miss e-nights!

We went this time this past year and loved it!!! I don't remember the exact dates, but it was the Wednesday after Mother's Day till the following Tuesday (right before Memorial Day)

The weather was great! Warm, but not humid. It got warmer as the week went on, but still great (then again, our previous trip was August  ) The lines were not too bad. The headliners never got above 45 minutes, and the general wait was about 15-20 for most. But it didn't "feel crowded".

I only wish I knew about May before DS was school aged!

Now I am worried, I have a trip booked for May 2nd-10th and am wondering how crowded it will be. We went in April this year during the Break week for New England.

I have not been in May in many years but I remember several large groups of high school students for their class trips. It seems like every school in Florida was taking a trip to Disney for the day.

Yikes, I forgot to mention that in my post above, yes there were many many school trip students in Epcot and Animal Kingdom. I did not see the larger groups in the MK or DHS though.
