The new incarnation is the Gemagic, saw them at the store the day before christmas. We could all chip and send it to him, I hear he does great modifications to ladies garments with this crafty tool.

Do we know for sure that we are having lanyards? And for sure who is doing them? I pm'd the person that I thought was doing them but haven't heard back.

Think there is a comprehensive list of who is organising what over on the Ship of Thieves Discussion forum.

Marilyn and Gydell....if we're stuck in the lifeboats, can we skip the lifeboat drill? Then we could have the pool all to ourselves while the room assignments do the drill.....and we can leave a breadcrumb trail back to the lifeboat so we can find it again after the pool.

Great idea.

I also want a lifeboat that can look in someone's window since I need a TV on to fall asleep. Should we request which location we want?

I wear ear plugs so a tv is no problem!! Now, lack of a near by toilet might be!

I hope Marilyn doesn't mind because I need the TV on to go to sleep also. But I think all the lifeboats are on deck 4 and there's no rooms there. We may have to bring a portable radio.

We can lower the lifeboat a little to catch someone's tv. Can't raise them more to catch the Walt's one though!!!

Savannah did not have the greatest night. She started throwing up Christmas Eve and was up all night on and off. She got up and wanted to open presents at 9:30 which is way late for Christmas morning, but she had a fever all night and really was quite sick. She seemed ok, had fun opening presents and her fever seemed gone, so we thought she just had a bug. She played with her cousins, but just seemed a little off all day.

Anyway, she had this strange rash under one arm. I thought maybe it was fever blisters. She would be fine, then grumpy, then fine, then not fine. This morning the rash was WORSE and her fever was back full on again.

Well, one benefit to having a sister who works for a pediatricians office is immediate care, so I took her to the DR. this morning, Steve was positive she had shingles but she actually has a staff infection. Get out! I had no idea, and the throwing up was just a coincidence. She will be on heavy duty antibiotics for the next 10 days.

I didn't even know people got that outside of hospitals. How do you even get a staff infection?

Anyway, a holiday for the books. Learn something new every day, even on Christmas.

Poor Savannah. Glad she managed to enjoy Christmas Day though. Hopefully the antibiotics will soon kick in.

By the way Deb....who is designing the t-shirts for the Lifeboat Crew? Who should your mascot be?

I spent several hours this evening with him. His legs and hands are so swollen. I think he is suffereing some congestive heart failure.

He wanted some ice cream, so I went and got him some ice cream.
He is aware how sick he has been and how sick he is now. He would never say he is getting better. He is just miserable. The doctor says that is good...it means he is coming around and can feel all the pain

He came out of isolation while I was there tonight. The doctors got 2 negitive C-Diff tests. So that is really good.

I went to his house and got any bills that have come in the mail over the last 3 weeks. I went to the hospital and went over the bills with him, wrote the checks and all he had to do was sign them. That exhausted him.

He has come a long way...but has a really long way to go.

I can understand him being miserable after what he has been through and is going through. I will keep him in my prayers. At least he must be improving medically so hopefully he will see this.

The only choices for mascots would be tink and jimeny cricket because they're the only ones who will fit with all three of us. Tink is already taken for the Champagne Girls so I guess it's jimeny cricket!!

oh ya you couch surfers are going to have to kick my kids outta their bed, one of them sleeps on the couch, it pulls out into the bed then the other one uses the pull down bed from the ceiling.

I've actually been thinking of calling to see if we could get on a cat 3cancellation list. I wonder how much more room they are over the cat 4s???

Karen, John's birthday is two days after your DSIS....he's Jan 11th. Do you wrap your sis's presents in birthday paper and put them under the tree? We do that for John, then we take the tree down after his birthday.

Usually, I end up giving him his birthday presents for Christmas then I have to go out after Christmas and buy him more. I was good this year, I kept them in hiding....he'll have to wait.

Birthday paper, not under the tree! Usually on the table or in the family room!

Ok, up here it might take three hours+ to see a Doc, but I have never seen a bill from a hospital other then for the TV/Phone and if taken, the ambulance ride (only happened once and it was $40.) My $30 a month extended health insurance, for a single, covers most everything else.

It may take longer and we would love to have the option to pay for quicker service at private clinics but for right now, everyone gets at least the basics of health care without financial burden.

I don't think I have ever had to read a story about seniors choosing food or medicine or other hardship stories revolving around medical care in the main stream media. We get stories about wait times, but not denial/cost of care.

It's really crazy....there are so many people out there without insurance and unable to get the care they need.
