this is the year that I am just going to have to tell my mom how it is. I am not a divorced parent and it's not fair to me to have to choose between people or to have seperate parties and such just so she won't be mad at me and sulk for a few days. I hate to write it, but I think a letter may be my best bet.

it would be my MIL and probably my Dad's girlfriend drinking it. I don't have a grinder so unless it can be ground at the store....

Most stores will grind it for you V. I thought when we were in FL this year we found Lion's coffee...it is one from Hawaii that we really like. They have some good flavors if you want that, but it is a good relatively inexpensive coffee. Also, most grocery stores out here carry a few types of coffees that can be ground there and bagged, so you can get the amount you want...do they have that in FL? Remember I live in the Coffee World of Seattle!

:thumbsup2 Cool. I think this might be something we would like to particpate in. I'll keep an eye open for more info as we get closer to sailing. Thanks

YEAHHHHHHHH Venetia and Bubba are doing jeeps with us in Aruba!!!!!!!! We have a whole big caravan going and it's going to be awesome! John can't wait to get behind the wheel!!!!!!!!!!!!

:yay: :yay: :yay:

Sorry, but I haven't had time to read one single post since I logged off last night. Work is super hectic today and I won't have time to read anything here until tonight after Tyler's in bed. But since many of you expressed concern about my little guy (and thanks 1grumpyjohn for your PM--my thoughts exactly!), I just want to share what happened at his pediatrician appointment today. To save time, I've just copied and pasted what I e-mailed to his dad. I surely just started World War 3, but will do everything I possibly can to help Tyler.

Just passing Dr. Hart's thoughts on to you while I have a free second. I had her read what the school and Miss Gimm wrote/typed, and told her about the things he was saying at day care about wanting to kill them and cut them all up, as well as how he would go into Tasmanian Devil mode (the spinning all over ripping things off the walls, knocking things over, throwing everything, hitting, biting, kicking, etc.) and how it would just come out of the blue and then a complete switch to happy kid just like a light switch. Her thoughts are that this is way beyond just a behavior issue because in her words, "he's already not succeeding at day care, not succeeding in school, and will soon not be succeeding socially (because kids will start teasing even more than they already do) which will affect self-esteem", etc. She wants to do an EEG to at least rule out any brain misfiring or whatever it's called, but her main concern is bi-polar, so she wants him to go see Jennifer Huffman, a neuropsychologist to get things narrowed down. She was quite frustrated with me because I expressed to her your concerns and how you disagree that anything's really wrong. She's really concerned because the things listed by the school are very unusual and extreme and not normal kid misbehaving and basically told me to just go get him evaluated no matter how you feel about it. So that's about all she said. Tyler had a great time with the cool books in the office! ;)

YOU GO GIRL......GIVE 'EM EVERYTHING YOU GOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are so diplomatic yet agressive.....you're going to make a great lawyer! You'll win this one eventually....it's not going to be easy though....but you will win in the end. Don't give up! Stay firm! You're doing great!!!!

I don't drink coffee...so I have no experience with it, but I know others will want it...can anyone reccommend a nice but on the inexpensive side that would be appealing? I am thinking Foldgers won't be a hit.

If you can find it in FL I would highly recommend 8 O'Clock coffee in a red bag that you grind in the store before you purchase it. It's the only coffee John and I drink. It's slightly more pricey than Foldgers, but worth every sip. We take it with us when we travel, except for DCL coz theirs is very good too. John and I are coffee-a-holics and this is one of the best for a reasonable price.

:thumbsup2 :cutie: :thumbsup2

WHEW!!! I FINALLY caught up!

Venetia & Bubba - thanks for those pictures...everything looked beautiful. I KNOW your mother was looking down with pride, love and tears in her eyes (as she was very touched by what everyone did). I'm so glad it went well for you. (BTW - that was one massive BBQ pit!)

Holly - Thank you so much for the update on the dr's appt this morning. I think you did a great job in that email to the ex. I also agree with everyone that has said to crash the appt that the ex made. You are doing a terrific job keeping Tyler as your focus and knowing that you need to do what is best for him (no matter how uncomfortable or embarassed you might feel).

Holly, Deb, Bubba and & Venetia - great job on the weight loss! Send some of your will power my way PLEASE!! All I seem to keep doing is comfort eating, and unfortunately the scale is going the wrong way!

Lisa - glad you got to spend some time w/ Daniel --- he'll be home again before you know it! Thanks also for the pics. Vanessa looks beautiful!

since my mom has me thinking of Thanksgiving, what is on everyone's menu this year? Do you all feast on the same things year to year or do you add anything new?

Our Thanksgiving is our one huge family gathering each year and it is ALL about tradition. Don't try to deviate on the menu or anything else! This will be our last year to host then passing on the baton to my niece.

2 Roasted turkeys
Ham
mashed potatoes
dressing
pink jello stuff (did not make this one year and I heard about it!)
peas
dinner rolls
yams
fruit salad
lots of pies, apple, pumpkin and pecan

I'm missing something I know!

I do a big pot (40 cup) of Folgers. They spice it up with creamers or whatever. They survive!;)

I just received an email from my Aunt in FL....Turkey Day tradition changes this year because it's the first not going to mom's....I'm going to be with my Aunt and cousins in FL....my one cousin is my most favorite person in the world after DH. When I got the email, it hit me that things are going to be different now and that mom is really gone....I finally cried hard....the first time since July 30th.....oh, the holidays are going to be rough this year.

So, I have no idea what we're having for Turkey Day dinner. I know I'll be in FL with my Aunt Jesse, my cousin Mike and his wife Barbara, my favorite cousin Doug and his son Kyle and Kyle's mom and her husband and Kyle's half brother.....Kyle's mom and my cousin decided to have Kyle and not get married....they share time with him like Holly does with Tyler's dad....Cara has since married and had another child. They all live nearby in FL and share holidays and birthdays together for Kyle's sake....and everyone has remained friendly with each other. It works out great!

I'll be sad and miss not being with mom....but I'll be happy and comforted by being with my favorite family people.

It will be hard but at least you will be with family and not alone.

Holly - have you decided what you are doing tomorrow about the dr. appointment?

It's only 10 more days until I leave for my halloween cruise.....YIP YIP YIPEE!!! I'm doing the official countdown everyday now.

Today, I'm trying to dig out that suitcase from the 11 night Southern that we did last Sept.....taking those clothes to the cleaners to have them washed and then repack them. YUCK! This is the part of any trip that I don't like....the packing and getting ready part.

:sad2: :upsidedow :sad2:

Julie & Willowbyclan - so glad to hear from you again!

Dennis & Angie - glad you're back home safe & sound.....I know your family was very happy to have you there.

I spoke with my friend Will (who will be coming along w/ me, and was on the last PC cruise) about shore excursions....he thinks he remembers that they came out in January.

Night before.....I'm staying at the Fairfield Inn by the airport (HY too rich for my blood....rather spend it on the cruise). I'm up for a breakfast meet, but be aware - I want to be on the 1st shuttle to the port!! :rotfl:

Can you adopt me please? I could be an honorary something!!:lmao:

I think the first anniversaries, holidays etc after the death of a loved one are the hardest. Your family understands. Remember your mom for a while, and then enjoy your time with your 'favourite family people'.

They're the worst and the best times really.:dance3:

YUP...and they are my favorite family people. I can't wait to see them, especially my cousin Doug and his son Kyle. Doug has a serious girlfriend and we plan on spending lots of time with them playing poker and swimming in their pool. It will be lots of fun!

:hippie: :hippie: :hippie:

Deb how exciting!! I wish I was cruising soon!

I wish I could take you with me....and all of us cruising on this trip....I'll get to the terminal and look for you, then remember that you're all not on this cruise, but the next one. I'll be sad, then I'll go to the pool and order a BBC!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

hopefully it won't be too cold for the pool next month. I am already having a hard time getting out of it at night. I also don't want to turn on the heater our electric bill is high enough.

did they do anything special at sailaway for the first pc crossing? I think they gave out hands to wave or something of that nature.
