Has anyone made their hotel ressie for the night before the cruise (if you're flying in the night before)? I thought I might try for the Hyatt MCO on Priceline.
Has anyone done this for this cruise or recently? When I look at biddingfortravel.com it seems that the MCO Hyatt does come up often.

I know some time ago there was talk of trying to obtain a group rate at the Hyatt but I haven't been able to keep up with the posts to know if anything ever become of that. ????:confused3

Anyone trying to plan ahead like me? I hope to have everything already booked so I can sit back and really start looking forward to the cruise.

We had talked about that. If we stay at the Hyatt, which I'm pretty sure we will - we have to decide soon -I was going to try and arrange a DIS breakfast real early on that Saturday. Mimosa, continental type of thing. They have a room we can rent. I know we will all want to leave early, so it would have to be an early breakfast. Not sure if there is interest in that. I had called awhile ago to see about group rates but they said it was too soon. Should I try now? Lisa

Venetia:
Thank you for sharing the pics...what a wonderful celebration it looks like you had!

Shoes...I think it was Nan that mentioned the "S" word....:cool1: Shoes.com and zappos.com both have very easy free returns (and free shipping). I buy all my shoes there if possible. I got both girls some great pairs on sale at great prices for back to school. A few of the pairs didn't fit, so I sent them back, but it was so much easier than shoe shopping with them.

OK, I am a bit over my upset with the Seahawks and will go to one more game, next week, and give them another chance. John, I'll let you know next Sunday if I am crossing over onto the Browns or not!

I know there were some other things I wanted to comment on, but the board went down on me for a bit and I lost my post:confused3

Have a great week everyone! Oh...and congrats to everyone on the weight loss! Scott and I are doing a 7 day detox cleanse starting on Friday to help us get back on track.

Hi! We made our ressies at the Hyatt MCO for the night before. I think there's a bunch from the thread that are staying there. Using our AAA card I got a rate of $159 and I think the regular rate is $199.

Early breakfast sounds like a great idea Lisa! I know there's a lot of us who are staying at the Hyatt so it would be fun to start the cruise early with breakfast with our DIS friends!!!

Good luck with the detox...we'll all want to hear about it!

Venetia, your day for your mom looks just lovely and a fitting way to celebrate her life. Thanks for sharing. Well done on the weight loss too.:thumbsup2

Thank you! It bothers me that I know his dad won't come to Tyler's pediatrician appointment tomorrow morning because he's not open to considering every possibility, only his own opinion. And I'm bothered that he doesn't want me coming to the counselling appointment Tuesday. I just trust that whoever he sees that day will tell him that he needs to speak with both parents. DUH! I could be wrong though, so I'll just have to go with the flow. The problem is that he's just going to be telling the guy about whatever behavior he sees when he's with Tyler, which is only a couple hours a couple days a week and 1/2 a day on Saturdays. I asked him if he could please show the counsellor everything the teachers wrote up about Tyler and he feels that's not necessary because they're nothing more than normal kid behavior for that age. So I'm quite worried about the effects of this counselling since he's not going to bring everything to the table. My only hope is that the counsellor will be able to sort things out a bit when he talks with Tyler. :sad2: What a mess.

Sorry all this is causing bad feelings between you and Tyler's dad. Seems things have gone quite smoothly up to now, so lets hope and pray that things continue to do so and he can see he should be working with you on this.

Yankee Candle Company sucked out my wallet today. Hate when that happens. Darned place! :lmao: I had their famous $10 off coupon when you spend $25 or more. As usual in that store, I wasn't paying enough attention to how much I had in my basket, so at the checkout when I was wondering if I even had $25 worth of stuff to even use the coupon, imagine my surprise when after I was rung up and AFTER the $10 was deducted, my total was still $35!!!!

Hello....My name is Holly and I'm a candle-a-holic.

Mmm, Yankee Candles!! I just can't stop buying them, though I don't burn them all the time. I bought a great on in the sale - a big jar Maple Sugar one. It has somekind of patterns set in a non melting gel, and the burn goies down the centre and shines through the pattern. You can put tea lights in when it has burned down and get that effect too. It's lovely. Trouble is it isn't that bright and it has been left lit overnight once! I love the cookie, sweet smelling ones the best.

nite Holly.

Okay you guys and your weight loss....I'm thinking I better start or I'll be the wishing I had when I see all you skinny minnies :cutie:

after desert...going to look for it now. :lmao:

Oh yes, always start a diet on a full stomach!!!:rotfl:

I would just show up. Ask step mom where it is. You need to be there.

Good morning!

A bunch of us (from our last cruise) will be at SSR the night before. We have been booked for awhile, so yes, I do plan ahead too!

We're at the Country Inn and Suites at the port. $140 for suite - one room for kids, one for parents, and living area with frig. They also have backpacks filled with freebies for the kids. $3 shuttle to port. I think there is a continental b'fast. Best of all we can see the ships!

I kept thinking of you guys when I saw that score - low scoring game . . . NOT like the game on Lake Erie! Scoring all game long, but the Brownies came through too! I went to the game by myself because I could not find anyone else to go, and Alex was in Columbus for the OSU game yesterday and could not go.

I was afraid to sell my extra ticket though - my luck it would be some 400lb guy, or a Dophin's fan, or someone who would throw up on me. Have to tell you though V, Sophia is NOT ready for the NFL. Indians game - yes, whole different atmosphere. NFL - not yet.
You know, we talked about that. And yesterday we were very lucky, very lucky. There were no rowdy fans or obnoxiously drunk idiots anywhere near us. These seats happen to be around several very seasoned season ticket holders and quite a few other vendors so most people were very well behaved. I can only imagine the dog pound!

You're up????

And Posting?????

Don't make Sophia late for school!
:lmao:

My mom called yesterday to inform me that she is hosting Thanksgiving and anyone on her side of the family is invited (nice, huh). And then we are picking names for Christmas, which is fine with me - $75 limit.

So - I highly doubt that we will go for Thanksgiving - I like to cook Thanksgiving dinner and John really doesn't want to go anywhere near her house. Plus, it leaves John's parents and my dad and Pat out of the equation as well. Why the heck can't she just suck it up and get along with everyone? It makes it so hard on me, and my stomach just starts to get upset anytime the holidays come around.

oh my - it was 70 degrees when we left the house. Samantha had to wear a sweater!

When it gets to 70 degrees here we take our sweaters off!!!

What is it about Christmas, and obviously Thanksgiving, that causes so much grief in families?

The game was great....! We had a blast. The seats were awesome! Soooo awesome! We were in the South End Zone, Party central...and funny - the people around couldn't believe the girls. I told them this wasn't their first rodeo.

Aww, that sounds like fun!

I made it out for my tulips this week!!! I got about 1500 blubs. We have to place them in the refridgerator for 4-6 weeks as it doesn't get cold enough to bloom here without the extra chill. Then we on Thanksgiving weekend pull out the old set (give them away to someone in colder country, used to be my parents) and plant the new. We have two beds in the front yard that look like Holland every year. The neighbors have come to expect it from me now, so I must not disappoint. :rolleyes1 Every year we have a few people stop and some even knock on the door and tell us how much they love them. Last year our nieghbors accross the street watched a car stop, a person get out, cut a bunch and then drive off. The nerve!!! Even I don't cut them for the house, I figure more people enjoy them in the front yard. (I just buy cut bunches at the grogery store for my fixes)

okay, chatty cathy, going to see what we need to hang up outside.

BOOOOOOOOOO!

Hi Julie!!!! Good to see you.

Angie & Dennis: Still got ya in my prayers for strenght for your family during this time of loss.

Wow, that's a lot of tulips! I love the bunch I have, but it's just a few.

I was at the Sharks game last night and the whole place loss power. It was pitch dark. http://www.mercurynews.com/sharksheadlines/ci_7175729?nclick_check=1
What was interesting is that it didn't appear as if any employee had emergency prepardness training. I asked several of them (being in healthcare I'm always a bit curious how other industries perpare for emergencies) and all of them said they have never had any training for any type of emergency. That just seems odd - they must have some training, but whatever the training is most be completely ineffective. I'm tempted to write a letter but not sure who I'd write it to. Seems to me that all the employees should have a good understanding as to what there job would be in an emergency given the amount of people the arena can hold.
Lisa

That's pretty scary actually!

Holly,
Way to go on the weight loss. I just noticed your ticker.:cheer2:
At my WW weight in last friday, I hit 50 lost. :goodvibes

Great job! I love the pictures from your mom's life day. What a beautiful thing to do.

We had talked about that. If we stay at the Hyatt, which I'm pretty sure we will - we have to decide soon -I was going to try and arrange a DIS breakfast real early on that Saturday. I'm interested in seeing what the group rate would be. Right now our plan is to stay one night at Pop Century (DH's cast member rate is really low there and we'll just get transportation from the hotel instead of from the airport). However, I know it's going to be a LONG day for us because we're taking one of the last flights out on Friday.

You're up????

Our section is usually fairly well behaved as well. I always get nervous with the girls there though. We have 2 extra tickets to the MNF 49ers game and Scott said I should take the girls...I decided against it for that game since MNF usually gets a bit rowdier.
When we were playing (and BEAT) the Steelers at home about 4 years ago, the people above us gave their seats to some friends. Those friends got so drunk that at one point when the Seahawks scored and everyone was cheering, mom turned to her side to high five me and I wasn't there...some drunk idiot from behind us was. He had fallen into me and I went flying about 3 rows down knocking people over the whole way. We were all ok, luckily, but I always think about that time when the girls are there. It was certainly scary.

V...good luck with the Holidays. I completely understand as I go through the same nausea every year through the holidays. My IL's TOLD us we were hosting Christmas Eve this year and Scott decided, well, they can just spend the night. I had to put my foot down and tell him no because I wanted the cruise treasure hunt to be between just us...I won! :cool1:
