We are going to the beach in DL (Delaware for you West Coasters:lmao: )

www.bethanycam.com

So far it is me and Vanessa and Annie. Vanessa has never been to an American beach....so Bethany will be a good first experience. It is a long weekend (Columbus Day). Mom keeps waivering back and forth about going.

Yesterday, Dulles Airport broke a record 88 degrees for the high temp. On Monday around here, it is supposed to be 90 degrees....great weekend for the beach.

Daniel has his first bowling tournament at UNI of DL (Delaware for you West Coasters :lmao: ) ...of course DL (Delaware for you West Coasters:lmao: ) is such a small state that I hope he lets me go on Sunday to watch him. He does not want me to come if I will be the only parent there. So on Sat he is going to check out the "parent action" and let me know if I can come on Sunday.

Is Washington DC the only area of the county that closes everything on Monday, Columbus Day?

Lisa

Let us know how Daniel does at his first bowling tournament in DL (Delaware for us West Caosters!:lmao: )

We are at "the coast" as we call Bodega Bay. Got up here after work, so it was dark, but the stars are UNBELIEVABLE tonight!

We do not have Columbus day off, wish we did though!

Have a great time at "the beach"!

Look at how big my baby has gotten at only ten months old.

Hi Deb and John

Oh beautiful dog!! I wish to have it as we are waiting for the hearing for the dog as waiting list for 18 months but we are no hurry for it hopeful after the Cruise!! I want collie dog - black and white but they refused to give us because collie easy give up for working dog:sad2: They offer us a lab dog!! as I am not sure about it but never though to ask for cross dog. Never mind I am sure lab will be good for working dog!!

I had collie dog when I was little - very good dog - died 15 years old - stroke. Never forget her.

Hope you are keeping well.

I have to say, I am shocked at how expensive WDW can be!! (times like this make me so thankful we bought into DVC) I just was pricing out a few options for a friend who is going between DL and WDW. This friend is very bottom line orientated, I am sure she is going to pick DL. For a 1 week whole package without food at moderate resort and airfare it was 4400 (pop was 3800). The same thing at DL was 2900. That is quite a difference in price, but then again, I am comparing at Good Neighbor hotel at DL to an onsite hotel at WDW. And, in MHO, there is no comparison between the resorts, WDW wins hands down.

I honestly don't know how people afford it from out of state. With all the Florida resident discounts and the dining card, plus AP's as gifts, it makes it
very affordable for us!

Good night!

Manny just mashed a pitch into the Boston night to put the BOSOX up 2-0.

The games tonight were just incredible!
Wasn't that great!

Deb - your dog is just so cute!!

How is Molly? I hope she is fine now.

I took my son to hospital densist and my son Keith have overbite teeth and will have braces top and bottom in November. Back to forth to hospital now. I have not got the heart to tell him that it take for 2 years to 3 years to have braces on. (He have dyparaxia) at hospital, nurse took patience to explain him that he must take gew tablets dying purple then clean the teeth for 3 mins, must do it every night. Then he will get braces on in November. He is not happy but listen to nurse explained to him. He accept it - phew.

You too Deborah.

I have managed to dry most of my washing outside which I love. I guess not for much longer though. I do have a pile of ironing too, but I imagine not as big as yours as you have the children. I do remember huge piles of ironing. When my 3 were teenagers the fashion was thick white cotton shirts and they were a pain to iron!:sad2:

I would LOVE to hang my laundry outside, but there are too many trees with birds in my yard. I'd be afraid I'd have to wash it all again! ;)

Very anxious to book my mini-DCL fix! Money is burning a hole in my pocket! I suppose the smart thing would be to use that money to pay off this cruise, but I just have to feed my DCL craving or I'll go nuts before May! :rotfl:

Oh...by the way... Good afternoon Marilyn & Deborah! I'm glad you're having beautiful weather! Ours is beautiful too today. Supposed to get really hot though -- close to 90 degrees. So I'm sure I'll have to shut all the windows and turn the air conditioning back on. And it's so humid that my cardboard skeleton Halloween decoration on my wall curled during the night from the moisture.

I wish our weather was just as good as yours but I'm not complaining!! How funny about your Halloween decorations! Not for you I suppose though.:lmao:

Mom's traditional dinner was turkey, gravy, 2 stuffings...one meat, one bread, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, turnips, cranberry sauce, corn and creamed spinach, salad, bread, pumpkin pie and coconut custard pie.

Since mom will not be here cooking this year, I'm going to see family in FL and I don't know what their tradition is, but I'll be happy just to be with them. Then I'll meet with V and family and then go to Orlando and do some more mini DIS meets before heading home.

Our turkey dinner's sound similar:) I've never had creamed spinach though?
This Thanksgiving will be hard for you:hug: but I'm glad you have plans and are open to new traditions:hug:
Turkey extras; mushroom mashed potatoes or mashed sweet potatoes, acorn squash, bread stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce, brussel sprouts, on DCL they call them baby cabbages, lol (I am kind of weird, love 'em). Then we have pie for dessert, pumpkin or cherry.
I love acorn squash and sweet potatoes:love: Unfortunately the rest of my family doesn't, so I have given up serving these at Thanksgiving since we already have so much food anyways.
What a wonderful weekend! I LOVE Thanksgiving dinner! :goodvibes Hmmmmm......Tyler did so well driving to Tennessee & back, I'm sure the drive to your house would be shorter. ROAD TRIP for turkey! :rotfl:
:thumbsup2 :rotfl:
Good morning. You've been busy!

Happy Thanksgiving Kathe. Enjoy the dinner on Monday. I love sprouts, but they seem to be one of those unpopular veggies, particularly with our young people.

Thanks Marilyn:) I know most young ones don't like sprouts, but mine always have. I still can't get them to eat squash or rutabaga or sweet potatoes though! I do have a recipe that mixes mashed rutabaga with mashed carrots and a chicken stew with sweet potatoes that my daughter will eat though.

Well, I have to go to work in 3 hrs and have some errands to run so I better get busy.

Nan-glad to hear that Molly is doing so well:)

Is it Angie and Dennis's wedding anniversary this weekend? I'm sure she said it was.
HAPPY 40TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY ANGIE AND DENNIS

This is called a Ruby Wedding over here, is it there?

I had pm'd her a couple days ago about the fish extenders but if it were back in Mid Feb I wasn't around then due to my grandfather's passing. Sorry that I caused confusion. I missed that in my quick pass through of all the posts. I don't want to cause confusion if it were already taken care of.

Enjoy the Fish Extending.

Not to worry, I just didn't want people duplicating efforts/expenses. We by no means have anything finalized for the 'gift teams' as we are pretty much waiting till after Feb pay up date for a more acurate 'head count'. And I didn't remember if lanyards and wrist bands were still in the 'order and pay the organizer' catagory, of if they'd been absorbed by a team. :confused3 But I do know calmom is aware of what all the team gifts are.

....back to catching up....

So I've decided on our final plans for this weekend. The haunted hayride & house I'd planned on taking Tyler to doesn't open until NEXT weekend. He'll be a bit sad, but not when I tell him we're going to a different haunted house tonight PLUS do the hayride & other haunted house next week! :thumbsup2

And I just remembered that tomorrow we'd planned on doing the Dinosaur Dash at Michigan State University: http://museum.msu.edu/Events/DinosaurDash/

Tyler did the mini-dash run last year and still loves to wear his t-shirt from the event. The mini-dash is 200 yards and is for kids 6 and under. The entry fee includes the t-shirt and food afterwards, all kids get a medal for running, and then we get to explore the museum afterwards which has dinosaur bones inside. Very cool! There are also a bunch of other fun kids' activities before and after. Unfortunately, my camera battery died last year during the event, so I only got 2 pics! I'll make sure that doesn't happen this time! :thumbsup2

Off to hop in the shower and head for lunch with Cindy (my fellow cruiser). :goodvibes We're having Mexican lunch. Yummy! Then I have to do some shopping, maybe get my hair cut, then hopefully have time for a nap before picking up Tyler.

ok, I am going to be a grouch tonight.

I got a form letter stating I didn't get the job. It didn't mention going with another candidate.

Down the side at the bottom there was a personal hand written note from the HR lady saying she hopes I keep them in mind for the future.

I'm sorry you didn't get the job, particularly after they kept you waiting so long. But hopefully something else will come up soon that will be even better for you.

John- You KNOW you want to meet us at Epcot on the 26th!!!! I think DVC is so booked up at that time because of the ToT run on Friday. I have a couple of friends who are doing the marathon. I'm "slumming it" in Pop for this trip because I need to save money for our cruise.

Holly- Have fun at the dino run. It sounds adorable!!

OK, STILL working around here even though it's Saturday afternoon. I can't believe how busy things are right now.
