In November we are eating at
Le Chefs de France lunch, but wavering a bit due to recent reviews.
CP breakfast with our friends from the US
Kona Cafe dinner
LTT before MVMCP, with our friends
Artist Point
Raglan Road, final meal with friends - their choice, probably wouldn't have chosen it myself.

After the cruise we aren't on the DP, so I have booked Fresh at the Dolphin lunch and an Olivias dinner, but may cancel this and go offsite.

We love Olivias!:thumbsup2

I already have reservations for Norway on Friday night the 2nd. I thought that would be fun for Vanessa......she will mot likely think it is corny.....but I thought we should try it. That leaves Sat, Sunday and Monday. These are resturants I will try for reservations for.

Crystal Palace - Magic Kingdom
San Angel Inn - Epcot
Coral Reef - Epcot
Jiko, or Boma, - AKL
Brown Derby - MGM
Spoodles - Boardwalk
Yachtsman Steakhouse - Yacht Club.

I hope I can get 3 reservations from this list

Any other suggestions are welcome!!
Lisa

Good morning everyone - been busy since 6:30 - first chance to stop by . . .

Just an FYI Lisa for what it is worth . . . the Coral Reef (never eaten there myself) got an absolutely horrible review on the DIS podcast.

That is just so lovely of you. I am certainly interested, thanks so much. Can't remember where you live - is it San Diego? Obviously I will reimburse you all the costs - probably next May unless you have PayPal?

We are staying at POR from 25th Nov to 2nd December. I think that would be the best place to send it to as after the cruise we only have 4 nights left at POP.

Thanks again. Can't believe you thought of that.

Marilyn and Lisa - you could always mail it to my house and I can hand deliver! Let me know what you think.

We love Olivias!:thumbsup2

We do too!

Another great option for counter service is the food court at Coronado Springs. Lots of selection, and more like a real meal. It never seems to be really busy, and the food was decent last time we were there.

Just thought I would check in again --

I have tried to join this list a few times with no luck yet, but that wont stop me from sailing and having a GREAT time :cool1:

I hope to meet up with some of you wackie people on the cruise -- just over 7 months to go     WOO HOO!!!!

Welcome to our crazy crew!! Jump in and check in w/ us when ever you can.

That's a nice thought and worth considering. Thanks.:) Are you meeting in DTD on the Sunday 25th Nov with some of the others? We are hoping to pop in if we arrive on time, so that is an option.

We have eaten there 3 times over the years. The first 2 times we got seafood of some sort and it was very good. Last year we ordered prime rib and it was not edible.....and Dennis and I will eat most anything without complaint. Neither of us ate more than a couple of bites of the PR. We are going again this year, but will order seafood! :thumbsup2

First, thank you for the kind words over the past few days. I was glad to see my NYE 2008 group was able to pass along my emailed info to you guys so you knew what was going on. Brenda , LYMI (yes I'll have to give you that whole sotry soon)

As you all know my mom had her surgery on Thursday and wonderfully we learned that her lymph nodes were not involved.

She is now staying at the skilled nursing section of her retirement community. She is unable to keep track of what is needed thru out the daily care routine post-op due to her dementia, so until her drains are removed and she is back to “normal” we feel safer knowing she is under 24 hour care. We expect her to move back to her apartment toward the end of the next week.

She is having moments that are not so good. (she called me yesterday at 7am claiming all around her were crazy and she was packing up and leaving if I helped her or not, then hung up on me) Of course she doesn’t remember this when I and my sisters (#3 & #1) arrived within the half hour to make sure she was ok.

Next week she will have the drains removed and move back home.

With in the following 2-4 weeks I’ll meet with her cardiologist to try to sort out what we will do for the heart issues. Most likely Cumadin but that has it’s downside too for someone who is prone to falls, as she is.

I think I’ll need to continue to be involved with her care issues daily for the next period of time (who knows how long that is) and frankly I’m fatigued thinking about it. But such is my place and role in our family.

I’m reading along with you, but still finding it hard to join in the daily chatter, but I’m here so don’t forget to say hi when you think of me.

Nan

Nan - thanks for checking in with us when you can....and for having others check in with us when you can't. Definately know that we are all thinking about you, caring for you, and praying for you and your family. Try to get rest when you can. :grouphug:

There is probably no way I will catch up here.

Busy weekend for us. DD#1, Mom, Sis and our very dear friends had a "surprise" 40th anniversary party for us last night. We found out it was happening, so not a surprise, but fun. We had about 70 some guests, renewed our vows with a minister we love, had a karoke/DJ, danced, ate and Dennis sang. A few tears, many hugs. Best friend came from Idaho and he took photos for us. Dennis' sis and hubby came from Southen Cal, nieces and nephews from Washington and local family and friends.

Our anniversary is not until next weekend, but we plan to take the MH out for a couple of nights to celebrate so the group decided to party the week before.

21 of us went to breakfast this morning, unannounced at our local fav breakfast restaurant. They had us seated within 30 min on a busy Sunday morning, got the orders correct and did it with a smile.

Glad this went well for you Angie! Hope you can post some pictures soon. Happy early anniversary!

Nan, I will keep you in my prayers. My mom has been with us for 6 weeks now and we had a very difficult summer with her.

She is not very happy to have lost her independence and I have no idea how to deal with that.

She does not want to be with us.....she is not very happy.

She will not go into assisted living, so this is ot for now,

Nn, I guess we are offically the "sandwich" generation

Lisa - :grouphug:s to you too! I'm sure this is hard on everyone.

Deb, thanks, I was trying to think of what would be nice, maybe a spa day sometimes soon. Actually a Disney cruise is what I really need (ok, want)

Karen, thanks as well. I'm trying to keep it together. Knowing you guys are here sending up good thoughts and prayers really does wonders for my spirit.

Marilyn, I'm glad to read about what is going on with you too. Sometimes even the daily stuff that seems not so big to one can place another in a comfort zone to see that life is still moving on.

V, I'm a bean counter too, and so when you mention little comments like going to reconcile I laugh out loud. I get it. Month end..oh joy...it is what we live for right :rolleyes1

Monica: When I see you post I think of wanting to meet you and talk about your travels, I'm still wondering what Argentina was like. It sounds so cool to go there.

I think I grabbed all the names that I could but if I missed you sorry, I feel like I should go down the list and tell you each thank you each time you send mom and I prayers, but lots of time I can just read and run. Please know that they mean the world to me and so do you

Going to have a cup o joe and head over to visit for the morning, wish me good Monday morning luck !!!

one more post....

I missed all those cool dates so here is my big list...

1963 DH comes alive
1964 (that's me and the last of the Baby Boomers)
1982 High School Graduation
1991 DH & I meet & fall in love (DH graduates from Law School too)
1996 DH & I get married (it took him time to realize he was in love :lmao: )
1997 Miss Molly was born
2000 Wilson makes his entrance as the Millennium Baby
2005 1st DCL cruise & trip to WDW

okay that's about it. back to our regular schedule posts.

okay really last post.

I have to tell you that I have an extra dog these days.

My mom's dog Ricki a mini dachshund is here with us while mom is recovering. Not so much fun. She is 4 and very ill mannered. My mom says she is her favorite daughter. Eat people food, sleeps in her bed and is bossy. My two nice dogs are pushed over when she is here. Rather disburbing, but oh well. Maybe on this visit since it's a long one we can train her into better dog like behaviour. She sleeps in her kennel when visiting and dog food is what we serve for dinner. The worst thing is that she licks. We all hate it, Paul won't even touch her. Oh well. okay the kids do like her a little but only if she doesn't lick them or pee on the floor, yes she isn't even really house trained.

now, coffee for me.

Nan - that sounds just like a daschund!!

Well I thought the Plaza was a bit over rated...and there is NO RESTROOM in there!! The food was ok, but I have found Magic Kingdom to be really lacking compared to the restaurants in the other parks and resorts.

Coral Reef has usually been very good for us. We just tried Yachtsmen and loved it. Defintely trumped Le Cellier for my John.

What do you mean, they aren't alive???? Of course they are :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: They also have a rank and order. When I was away (as a child of course) Ragedy Ann was in charge, Snoopy her back up, the monkeys (yes I had 2) were the trouble makers, Woodstock just flew around and did nothing productive....need I go on??? My mom would sometimes place them doing funny things for me to find when I came home. I often think I need to do that with Molly's children (dolls) but too much time surfing the web instead.

China babies???? We have a dear friend who adopted from China. If you don't mind would you share the stories of your children with us?

Ditto, sorry I missed you before, but the thoughts were and are with you for another happy year of wedded bliss.

Saw that bus on the way to LA last weekend, glad you mentioned it, I was so wondering what the deal was. $1 SF to LA great prices for the young and footlose traveler. I would have loved that 20 years ago....

Such a shame, wonderful looking totes.

Protest thru Paypal, but soon. They have date limits. Keep all email corspondence. I have done it before and won all my money back from a slimy vendor.

Thanks to all who offered support and more hugs and prayers.

Lisa,

I so hear ya. When my dad died my mom bounced back and forth between me and my sis #3 for about 4 months. We finally forced the other sisters to help and they found an apartment (not so nice) until her retirement application was completed and apartment became availble.

My advise is, if you are thinking of moving her to a care facility. DO IT!!!! My mom's doctor told me that mom would be happier with her own kind and it is really true.

I love the place we have mom in. It was a bit of $$$ to get her in ($225K) and we have a monthly fee/rent of +$3K ongoing but fortunately mom and dad had enough in savings/IRAs to cover these costs. It's a staged living place. For her now, she lives independantly, as she needs she will move to assisted living, and then if needed (like now) for spot care or more she can be in skilled nursing.

http://www.theterracesoflosgatos.com/home.html

It was rotten when she was living with us and we even knew it was for a short time, but every adult needs to feel like they have control over their own home regardless of what that home is.

ok, going to zone into the tv tonight. DH on yet????

My single sister adopted a 6 1/2 month old girl in 2002 from Fuling in the Chongqing area (somewhat near the big Three Gorges Dam). We went early and spent a few days in Beijing - the Great Wall, T Square, Ming Tombs, the original Temple of Heaven and a few other places. The day befoe we left Chongqing we were touring around and our guide casually mentions that up the road was the headquarters of the Flying Tigers who the Chinese still revere for all they did for China in WWll. My sister and I look at each other in amazement- my father was attached to the Flying Tigers and was stationed in China for some time during WWll but you could never get him to talk about it. Darn, if we had only thought of that once after she received her referral (in the 2 1/2 weekes before we travelled - yeah right).

Fast forward to 2005 and my sister is waiting for the referral of her second child. I was hoping the referral would come out of Xi'an so I could see the Terra Cotta Warriors and she was hoping it would come from Chendu so she could hold a baby panda (her agency was real big on cultural experiences while you are there waiting for final paperwork to be processed). The referral came - from Liang Ping - Chongqing area again but opposite direction from Fuling. We entered in thru Hong Kong this time and toured for a few days, very cool stuff. Rode in A Chinese junk in Hong Kong Harbor among other things. - we went in March and HK Disney opened in September; we were so close!!

We had the same facilitator for the second trip and she remembered us so we asked if she could arrange a trip for us to the Flying Tiger Museum. I'm going to really shorten this but we get to the museum and are walking around, my sister, the facilitator, the museum caretaker and the girls got a bit ahead of me. I stopped and was staring at a picture and my sister dropped back and simple said "which one" and I pointed to a soldier and she said "me too". We found a picture of my father. Looked exactly like one my mother has of my dad in her house (and the only picture I rever remember seeing of my dad in uniform). My sister went ahead and got the others out of the room so I could take a picture for my mother (I didn't care about the no photography signs at this point and we were the only ones there but I wasn't going to ignore the sign in front of my hosts. They had been so gracious to us since we arrived).

Well, you asked about the girls and I'm went on about seeing a picture of my dad, who passed away 14 years ago, but it still is just as special to me as the girls are. Sorry to be so long winded.

Anyway, the girls are thriving and as different as night and day. One is a tomboy (6 in November) and could easily have done the Universal commercial (if I see one more princess I'm goign to hurl) and her younger sister will be 4 in January and is as girly as they come. They have brought such joy to our family. I can't wait to take them back to China for a cultural experience. Maybe I'll get to see the Terra Cotta Soldiers then.

Sandy

work has flown by and even though I should stay late I am going to leave at 3:30, I did get here just after six.

I am a bit frazzled though. The girl who recently quit, well, I received a lot of her month end items, which is fine, however there is one account that the A/R is over $300k and she has not balanced it all fiscal year and last year at year end her project --- so I am told --- was to clean it up. So now, it's MY problem! Yikes!! I have it down to under $2k so far and I think the rest is just going to have to be written off. I have no clue where or what it consists of!

ANd the scary thing about accounting errors, you never know if the amount is one item, several items, one amount, several amounts or it is a NET figure. The NET errors are the worst - you are never sure you found it all until it hits ZERO. :grouphug: to you while you look.

Nan:

John and I want to express our warmest wishes for a speedy recovery for you mom. I know these are hard times with her and if there is anything I can do to help even in the smallest way, do not hesitate give me a call.

Wamest Regards,

Noel
