Just thought I would check in again --

I have tried to join this list a few times with no luck yet, but that wont stop me from sailing and having a GREAT time :cool1:

I hope to meet up with some of you wackie people on the cruise -- just over 7 months to go     WOO HOO!!!!

Welcome!

I've been spending time over at the restaurant board also...reading up on the DDP. This is the first (and probably only) time I'll be using it, so I want to make sure I've got it down.

We love Spoodles at Boardwalk. Yummy salmon!

It's officially Oct 1st so I got on the scale....I lost 16 lbs....remember 13 of those are water weight gain from the fluids in the hospital...3 of them are real weight loss. For my first month, I'm very happy. I'll continue to do diettogo food because it really tastes good and it's so easy to do.....so hopefully, I'll have repeated success. Jackie if you decide to do it, PM me before you order because they give you a bonus for a referral.

:hippie:  :hippie:

Good Morning Deb...I had sweet dreams, thank you. I am glad to hear you and John had a lovely anniversary. Now, off to declutter. I got motivated to get all of storage moved out and they are delivering it this morning. Samantha and I are going to go through it all in the next few weeks.

:surfweb:

You're getting rid of all your stuff in storage and I'm putting all of mom's stuff that I'm keeping into storage. I have to declutter the house before I can bring any of it home. That will be my project for 2008....clean up my clutter so I can bring home mom's clutter....clutter never ends!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

A friend sent this to me, thought you'd enjoy....

This one's for the Moms, although the Dads will find it funny too....he's sure to have seen his wife in this "mode"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_oc1j5NakY

I couldn't open it...said something that it wasn't available due to "Mike Atkins Entertainment" rights or something...

I love you tube, I hope it doesn't become some commercial site where you have to purchase to watch certain videos. Or maybe it was just my computer.

Congratulations!! Keep up the good work!

Deb, it will be a busy and emotional month for you. Glad you have that trip planned at the end of it! How are your legs? Sounds like they are healing?

The legs are really coming along well...I soaked in the tub for 1 1/2 hrs this weekend then started wiping the yuck off the top layer and found clean new skin underneath....didn't get all the yuck off the right leg yet, not ready....but it's completely off the left leg and it looks clean now. I think I will be swimming at the end of the month! YEA!

Oct will be a busy month here too. My house is a mess right now! I still have lots of my daughter's stuff here, her and her DH are moving into their new house in Nov so she'll be taking most of it then. Since I have Samantha and Serenity here, we have all of their stuff too...I forgot how much "stuff" babies have. Most of my son's things are here to, and since a mover is coming to collect it all on Nov 1 , I now have boxes everywhere too of stuff Brian has packed so far. He gets back home on Nov 1st, the moving truck comes on Nov 2, same day I get back home from disney. By Dec I should have lots more room here, but as much as I hate the clutter, I bet it will feel very empty then :guilty:

Isn't it funny how we can't stand the chaos and clutter, but miss it so much when it's gone! Like John1 says....evidence of life and I'll add evidence of much love.

Kathe, enjoy your family around you and don't worry about the mess, you'll be able to clean it up when they're all gone.

We've completed our de-clutter project. Must have filled 7-8 lawn bags full of shredded paper alone. And you can see the entire floor in our office again - got rid of the boxes that were stacked everywhere.

Welcome aboard autodoc....why haven't you had any luck joining in this list before? Are we just too chatty? Don't let that discourage you....just join in and tell us all about youself and your family....we'd love to chat with you too! Who are you sailing with? Is this your first DCL cruise? We've all got inquiring minds and would all love to know.

:thumbsup2 :confused3 :thumbsup2

Just back from a glorious week-end in Fl. I told my DH I am scared I'm going to wake up and find it is all a dream! I don't know if it is shock or excitement but we won!!! Sorry V - it was a great game from our side! We would still appreciate it if you could take a few of the LSU players out next week for us.

Deb - Happy Anniversary a day or two late!

Thank you so much gydell....I'm glad you had a fun weekend and that your team won!

Three weeks from today I'll be at WDW:banana:
I'm trying to get caught up on this thread, but I'm really torn between here and the restaurant board, I want to read everything about the F&WF for this year. This will be my 3rd visit during the festival . My favourite time of the year to visit disney has always been late April early May but after my 1st Oct visit :confused3 Until this year I solved the problem by doing both;) I'll be going to the PFTS with Monica and attending 2 F&W pairings. I also like to attend one of the special dinners. The 1st year I did the Aussie dinner at Citrocos, last year it was the Regional feast of Peru, and this year the Regional feast of Greece. I know a few of you are also going during the festival. Any one else doing some of the special events?

Kathe

When is the Regional feast of Greece and how do I get in on it!

:yay: :woohoo: :yay:

Just sitting down after cleaning up... again!:confused3

We had DSis over for one of DH's gourmet dinners!:thumbsup2

Prawn cocktail and polenta with chantarelle reduction sauce for appetizers.

Roast rack of lamb, bacon fried potatoes and asparagus with balsamic reduction and shaved parmasan cheese for dinner!!

My sister brought a lovely salad, but we were pretty full!

No need for desset, but baked cookies anyway!;)

He's such a great cook, but there is always TONS of clean up for me afterword...

Oh well, all done and dissing away!

Karen

First, thank you for the kind words over the past few days. I was glad to see my NYE 2008 group was able to pass along my emailed info to you guys so you knew what was going on. Brenda , LYMI (yes I'll have to give you that whole sotry soon)

As you all know my mom had her surgery on Thursday and wonderfully we learned that her lymph nodes were not involved.

She is now staying at the skilled nursing section of her retirement community. She is unable to keep track of what is needed thru out the daily care routine post-op due to her dementia, so until her drains are removed and she is back to “normal” we feel safer knowing she is under 24 hour care. We expect her to move back to her apartment toward the end of the next week.

She is having moments that are not so good. (she called me yesterday at 7am claiming all around her were crazy and she was packing up and leaving if I helped her or not, then hung up on me) Of course she doesn’t remember this when I and my sisters (#3 & #1) arrived within the half hour to make sure she was ok.

Next week she will have the drains removed and move back home.

With in the following 2-4 weeks I’ll meet with her cardiologist to try to sort out what we will do for the heart issues. Most likely Cumadin but that has it’s downside too for someone who is prone to falls, as she is.

I think I’ll need to continue to be involved with her care issues daily for the next period of time (who knows how long that is) and frankly I’m fatigued thinking about it. But such is my place and role in our family.

I’m reading along with you, but still finding it hard to join in the daily chatter, but I’m here so don’t forget to say hi when you think of me.

Nan

Nan, I do know what you're going through and my heart goes out to you...my mom was in the hospital 8 times in 8 months before she passed and it was just draining on her and all the family. It was more of a mercy to just let her go in peace. It's extremely exhausting to care for an elderly loved one, but you do your best and give them a big hug because you still have them in your life. Remember to take care of you too. Take a day off or even an hour off and go pamper yourself. You'll need to do this in order to sustain the pace that you're going at right now....you can't allow yourself to burn out.

I'll be thinking of you everyday and sending you much love and prayers and pixie dust! And HUGS!

Deb,

Congratulations!!

That is really great news, especially considering you have been unable to really do any excercise (seeing as you are supposed to be "resting" those LEGS!!)

I am so happy for you! Keep up the good work!!

Sounds like the office that I need to attack...

We are in the process of re-discovering our loft. It was full of boxes of stuff that DD took out of the back bedroom (another black hole) when we moved the furniture from there to the Bodega Bay house!

We boxed up the stuff, moved the hide-a-bed into the loft and all the rest back into the back bedroom. DD is now going through all of the shelves and cubbies to get rid of her "kid" stuff. Of course, she is re-discoveering some of her favorite "kid" stuff and is having trouble letting go of it all!!

Probably will put some of the Barbie and Brat stuff on Ebay. Still have lots of Disney and American Girl clothing to put on there as well.

Will attack the office and back bedroom soon... really... I mean it!

Then we will attack the storage unit with my mom and dad's stuff...

So much to do, so little time!

Karen

There is probably no way I will catch up here.

Busy weekend for us. DD#1, Mom, Sis and our very dear friends had a "surprise" 40th anniversary party for us last night. We found out it was happening, so not a surprise, but fun. We had about 70 some guests, renewed our vows with a minister we love, had a karoke/DJ, danced, ate and Dennis sang. A few tears, many hugs. Best friend came from Idaho and he took photos for us. Dennis' sis and hubby came from Southen Cal, nieces and nephews from Washington and local family and friends.

Our anniversary is not until next weekend, but we plan to take the MH out for a couple of nights to celebrate so the group decided to party the week before.

21 of us went to breakfast this morning, unannounced at our local fav breakfast restaurant. They had us seated within 30 min on a busy Sunday morning, got the orders correct and did it with a smile.

What a wonderful 40th anniversary....what did you wear??? Because you didn't know about the surprise party!!! And when are we going to see some pics of the celebration?

Happy Anniversary Angie and Dennis....I think it should be a week long celebration...what is the actual wedding anniversary date?

:bride: :groom:

Well the Browns played an awesome game today against those dirty bird Ravens!

It was a great day at the stadium, beautiful sunshine, and an 27-13 victory!

Ohio State rose in the standings because of all the upsets, and we are now number FOUR!

Indians won today too, and tied with Boston for the Best Record in Baseball!

Thursday, we play the dreaded Yankees at Jacob's Field - Hate, Hate, HATE those Yankees!

The Indians have the lowest payroll of ANY of the teams in the AL playoffs - unless you are a fan of those other teams, root for the Indians! I am planning on going to the Thursday game, and I gave Alex the tickets to use for the Friday game. Can you believe we don't know what time the games are yet?

It was a great sports day....John's Browns won, Kaylee's Seahawks won and my Giants and Raiders won! It's a good day for all!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
