I think he was thinking that as well as one for each girl (in a sense).....

Labs are great, but bigger dogs are a lot more work. If you are thinking of two...

Corgi's!!

They have the same lovely disposition of labs and are easier to keep inside. Very loyal to younger kids too!!

Just the thoughts of a cat person...

ok, I guess the "silver" lab is a controversy.

In all honesty....I googled labs to begin with and just happened upon the pics I posted and fell in love....I posted on the Community Board and, hmmm, well....

V,

Someone probably already replied to this but...

Weimereiners are beautiful but VERY high energy dogs. If this is a cross breeding of the two, you may be in for a very high maitenance dog. Think Dalmations or Jack Russell Terriers!:scared1:

I am getting more and more tired every night. Since Football season started, and baseball season has heated up, I am not getting to bed before 12:00 (and sometimes later). I get up at 6:00 every morning.

Of course I can't give up my nightly DIS, and I am reading a new series of books too that I can't seem to put down - so there is a lot competing for my attention.

Amy and Sophia go to bed by around 9:00, and this is my "free" time. I go to bed last, and get up first every day.

Yet another similarity!

I'm the last to bed, first to rise!! (Always tired!)

So the news of the day is that DD and DSIL and both DGKs will be moving to FL around the first of the New Year. I'm so sad about this. I love having them live down the block and rely on them quite a bit. DSILs grandparents are both elderly and sick. There is really no one else in the family able to help them. So Sandi and Joe are thinking of moving there and living with Joe's grandparents in their house to help them out. I'm soooooooo going to miss them. We'll see them everytime we go to FL which is at least 2 to 3 times a year....but it's not the same. I'm so sad.:sad1: :guilty: :sad1:

Big changes for you Deb!

WOW...I just realized...I'm going to be alone in my neighborhood....mom, Sandi and I live within 5-10 mins. of each other. Mom is gone, bro will be leaving right after the Auction on Oct 20th, then Sandi and family will be leaving after the New Year....I can feel life changing again....drastically! Things will get very quiet...with a lot of free time! More cruises!!!!!! More DIS!!!!!:rotfl2: :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:
Every cloud has a silver lining.
Just popping in to say Hi also...school has started and we've been busy! I haven't had a chance either to read back. Hope all is well with everyone. I'll be lurking about until november when it slows down.

Today must be the "pop in and say Hi" day because I'm doing the same. HI everyone! Things have been so busy with school activities and after school activities. My part time, at home job has me swamped...so much for 10 hours a week! Anyway, just wanted to say "Hi" and I'm still around, thinking about everyone, praying for those who are not well, sending good wishes to cute new babies and of course, happy belated birthday to PJ (oh and happy UNbirthday John)!!!!!!

Hi to the 'popper in'ers.

Good Morning Marilyn....are you going to see that precious little baby Molly Kate today? When will she be going home? Do they live nearby? Does Molly have brothers or sisters? How proud you must be!!!!!!! Such joy!!!!!!!:cutie: :goodvibes :cutie:

Morning Deb.

Molly is David and Karen's first baby. She was home within 24 hours of her birth and doing well. They live almost 2 hours away by car, so not too many trips I think. We were there about 2 hours which was nice.

One month from today I will be on my way and headding to Cocoa Beach for two days, then cruising on the Wonder for four nights, then onto World for three days...doing the MNNSHP for the first time and meeting Mandy/UKangel for drinks. I'm getting really excited. We had this trip planned for over a year and now we're only one month away.:woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo:

Oh how special for David and Karen....being their first. I can't believe she was home within 24 hours....that's very fast. I hope mom is feeling well.

Two hours is a long drive....you can't go visit everyday....but there are weekends! I hope you spent two hours while Molly Kate was awake. I always go for visits and the babies are all asleep. I hope you timed it better than I do!

:hippie:  :hippie:

It will soon pass Deb, and I hope those legs of yours are good by then.

She was in that very newborn state of sleep or just not able to open her eyes. By tomorrow she will be more active.

I'm in so much trouble...I just emailed DU to send me a quote for the Sept 08 cruise to see if we can go with our friends. It's to Costa Maya and it's a double dip. It's also our anniversary and our friends' anniversary too. So we just have to go, right?:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Good morning everyone!

Marilyn, I have been remiss (because I missed the original post on my weekend hiatus) but congratulations on the new grandchild!

Did I miss another baby in there somewhere too? I keep thinking I did.

Oh yes!!!:rotfl:

John, thanks for the congrats.

IBy wine snob, I mean someone who not only knows and appreciated fine wine, but makes fun of and disparages those who might like wine that is not considered "fine" wine. I don't mean Thunderbird or Boone's Farm either!

HEY!! What's wrong with Boones Farm?? :rotfl: :lmao:

or wine in a box??:thumbsup2

Double dips are great!!!!!! What fun you may have another cruise!

Well John lost his game last night...and he was 0-4 so he was less than thrilled when he came home. We all went for a dip in the pool and then to bed. I have to admit I have been so tired lately!

Did I ever tell you all how much I love my DH? I told him about the Sept 08 cruise with our friends....he said book it!!!!!!!! I LOVE my DH! I'm just waiting for DU to get back to me with a quote. Now I'll have 3 booked cruises.....Oct 07 one more month, May 08 and Sept 08....ok Geeks when are we cruising in Jan 09...let's go for a record and see if we can book 4 at the same time!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Here's another cat person chiming in for Corgi's. I grew up with big dogs but every Corgi I have ever met has seemed like a big dog in a small package in temperment and personaility. Plus they're so cute!!

Our last cruise was a Costa Maya double dip - I say go for it!!!!

Still have four pages to catch up on, but wanted to share my 'cosmic' dog story.

Just a few weeks after my mother passed (which was just 8 months after my father did), a group of us went up to Sedona for a new-age, woo-woo, metaphysical mumbo-jumbo excursion. That Sunday we had each wandered off to find a meditation spot and I was sitting in the red rocks and thinking about my parents. I realized I'd lost my source of unconditional love and decided it was time to get a dog.**

'Somenone' whispered in my ear and suggested I go get a Minature Schnauzer...TODAY. :confused3

So as we were driving back to the valley that afternoon, I told the girls about my 'message' and said I'd pop by the shelter if we made it back in time. We did, I did, and there was Jock....just waiting for me. He hadn't been there 24 hours yet, and the volunteer told me pure breads usually find homes within 48 hours. We had a lot of happy years together.

**OK, that sounded really strange when I re-read it...but you know what I mean**

.

Knowing my friend John, I am guessing he is like me, and just would not go for a Corgi. I agree, perfect dog for a cat person, but somehow a dog that just comes up to your ankles just doesn't seem like a dog! Probably a guy thing too . . .

Amy wanted a smaller dog too - but I wanted a dog I could play with, wrestle with, and who at LEAST came up to my knees! The one great advantage I could now see in a Corgi or similar dog would be the inability to reach the counter tops!:rotfl2:
